What a difference a day makes! I'm sure you have heard that before? In my case it was "What a difference Two Weeks Makes!" We returned to Tropical two weeks after my last review and poor experience. They were recently opened at that time and possibly were going through grand opening learning curves? Who knows? Well I am happy to report that we returned and oh my! They knocked our socks off! Great service, food and drink! My wife ordered a smoothie, Jetty Punch. She said it was incredibly delicious. I had the Smoothie Combo which consisted of a Baja Chicken Wrap, Jalapeno Chips and a Island Green smoothie. All were beyond amazing! So glad that we gave them another try. There were two employees working at the time. One jumped on the food preparation and the other the drinks. Great team work! Can't wait to return!

A very well grilled wrap with sweet potato hash.

Finally, a good smoothie place near Carol Stream. A little bit pricey, I have to admit, but the key thing is, it's worth the cost. I'm a Jamba kind of guy, but they're off in south Wheaton. And every other smoothie place I've seen since is all about the supposed health benefits of smoothies; maybe it's about the smoothie's place in your cleanse, or a menu of mix-ins for all kinds of ailments/benefits. No, I know smoothies aren't healthy; just give them to me anyway! The app lets you grab smoothies on the go very easily and conveniently--it's also the easiest way to request half turbinado sugar (I'm not a glutton for punishment, exactly). The smoothies taste great, of fresh ingredients, and very well blended. I really liked the mango one, but got exactly what I expected from the chocolate one, which seemingly a very strong hit of cocoa powder. It tastes great. As far as I can tell, the food menu items were up to snuff (I didn't order any but my... chicken wrap thing... tasted good and fresh.) The sweet potatoes did need celery salt. I've been here three times so far, and I'm looking forward to going more often.

The parking lot and the restaurant on a weekday morning is plentiful. Service could be improved. Is it Maria? The young and cute one that provided an awesome service. The older, mean looking one was not very friendly. She gave us mediocre service. Prices are slightly expensive, especially for a large orange juice. We ordered half biscuits and gravy, stuffed French toast, and sweet hot fried chicken and waffles. I'm not quite sure why my half order of biscuits and gravy took about 22 mins to make. It was faster at other places. They were good, not amazing. We received the main entrees a few minutes later. They were huge portions. I got my fried chicken on the mild side because I didn't know how spicy they make it. The mild version was still good. They were easy to cut and tangy. The waffles were firm but soft. The stuffed French toast was loaded with cream cheese inside and I like the generous amount of fresh fruit. Overall, the experience is like a solid 4.

My husband is a human garbage disposal (rude, but true). He is happy to eat here. I really hate this place. They are overpriced, very overcrowded (on any day of the week, however do not even attempt to get a table on the weekend). If you decide to come anyway, know that they provide no seating for waiting customers. This dump is standing room only. They have (kind of, to be generous) a couple of options for vegans. Their hashbrowns are made with canola oil, and by default only, they are vegan. They serve a very bad fruit cup at a very high price. If you bring your own vegan butter, their toast and English muffin are options as well. Vegetarians do well at any breakfast diner. There are no Celiac/gluten-free options that are marked, however to my limited knowledge eggs and hashbrowns are safe (minus toast) I really try to do my best and include everyone of every dietary choice/need in my reviews.

The staff was so sweet even when it was so busy on a Saturday morning! They were very attentive and accommodating with all the modifications I made on my sandwich! The vibes inside and in their patio are amazing! We sat outside because it was grounded but even then the staff made sure to check on us! Overall great place with friendly staff, amazing food, drinks, bakery items and most importantly great ambiance!

I had the pick two, which was a half a sandwich (grilled cheese) with a half salad (kale Caesar). The salad was so good! Fresh, crisp and lightly dressed. However, the grilled cheese was pretty sad. I opened it up and there was hardly any cheese. It was just like eating two pieces of grilled bread. They need to improve on that for sure. I also had their 12oz wildflower latte which was very tasty, but served lukewarm and not hot. If the milk is not steamed, it will bring down the temperature of the coffee. I like my specialty coffees served hot. I do have to say every staff member we came in contact with was friendly. They seemed happy and were there to help and answer questions. You place your order at the counter, and you receive a number which you display at your table. There are two dining areas with tables and a few booths to dine at next to where you place your order. Members of the staff bring your order to the table. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks and food. Even with the sad grilled cheese sandwich which was disappointing and the lukewarm latte, I would definitely go back to Blackberry Market again to try other items on their menu. I'll pass on the grilled cheese, though.
