Jerk chicken wrap with plastic bread tie that was inside the wrap.

I bought food for my wife to try Tropical Smoothie for the first time. After she was able to get around to eating it, she sent me a photo of what was in her wrap. The white plastic tie used for bread.

Styrofoam seeping through walls of cup.

I quite literally waited an hour for a smoothie and sandwich. This place is horrible, avoid it like the plague.

Parking can be anxiety-inducing. I grabbed a spot just as someone pulled out of it. Many times have I driven past Eggs Up due to the line of waiting potentials. I don't wait for anything if I can help it. It was still packed on a Friday morning, but I nabbed a counter seat. Hash Benedict and fancy donuts. Well, well, look at me eating fancy donuts over here! La-di-da, Your Majesty. The donuts were light - softly crunchy, if that makes any sense. I learned quickly that using my hands was a messy mistake. Fancy donut eaters like me can't be licking their fingers in a restaurant. Use a knife and fork. Man oh man. The eggs were so fluffy. The hash was absolutely delicious. And the hash browns were fine. Nothing to crab about. Any cons here? Well yes, it took 25 minutes to get my order delivered. To their credit, they said they'd messed up my eggs and did them over. However, it was obvious my browns were the originals because while the eggs came out hot, the potatoes were lukewarm, if that. Yes, I could've said something but that would've made my wait even longer. I know they're super popular and waiting is a thing there. But, like I said, I hate waiting for things. Anyway, the workers all seemed like beautiful people. It was quite clean in there, and passing the time with the kind regular sitting next to me was a pleasure. I'm in no hurry to return. I was there using a Christmas gift card. It's a fine place with good food. It's just too popular for my taste. Don't let that keep you away. 4.3.

Famous Toastery, has become our "come back to" place after just 1 visit. From the soft bright…read moreinviting decor, the cleanliness, comfortability with padded seats, polite and attentive staff, the front of the house manager (i'm guessing) who was keeping operations organized, the friendly and great to talk to owner Larry, and right on down to the rewarding selections of food. It should be noted that "All items can be made gluten free". This place checked off our "boxes". My first observation after being seated, was their coffee machine; it's Lavazza coffee!!!! One of the best Italian coffees you'll find; that's all my family buys. The owner Larry, stated "people say there's 2 absolute favorites that people come back for, the coffee and............the bacon". We agree that not only is the coffee an obvious winner, but the bacon.....OHHHHH THEEeee Bacon!!!! I've recently completed cancer treatments, which has caused me to struggle with food, and found that my tastebuds are quick to alert me to high salts, nitrites/nitrates, msg, basically chemicals. Well, Famous Toastery was my very first breakfast out (2nd meal) in over 7 months and not 1 time did i put the bacon down; or anything for that matter. Nice hearty, meaty, non sizzle on your tounge bacon!! Due to my condition, i didn't "eggspect" to find much on the menu that i'd be able to enjoy but, once i saw the all time classic breakfast it was game on. The "First Responder", comes with 3 scrammbled eggs with cheddar, served with bacon and sausage. You can request "egg whites" for $1. Each item under the "Eggs" list come with your choice of breakfast potatoes, grits, or fruit, and a choice of toast. Along with this, i ordered the "Famous French Toast", which is 3 slices of Texas toast ligjtly dusted with powdered sugar. Ok, you ready for the syrup!?!? Real.....Maple.....Syrup. No high fructose sludge!!! Lastly, the orange juice. Ladies & Gentlemen, Famous Toastery squeezes their OJ, fresh to order! C'mon, How can you not start to love this place already? Secondly, we ordered the Meditteranean Quesadilla, which was on the specials menu. Wow, that was a delicious choice. Scrammbled eggs, feta, pepper jack, cheddar, spinach, onions, and roasted peppers inside a grilled tortilla, with a side of salsa and sour cream. This is not a flimsy, thin quesadilla. It's also not too thick, but it was juuuuust right. If you're not in the mood for breakfast, they also have sandwiches and wraps. While talking with Larry, i mentioned seeing they have a "Reuben" on the menu. Well, Larry peaked my interest by stating "they cook their corn beef DAILY...... in house!!!!!!!! Omg yesssssssss!! Also offered as a substitue, if you're not a corn beefer, is roasted turkey! I could keep going but, you've read enough if you got this far . Now, take your hungry appetite on down to Famous Toastery, in Fuquay-Varina, and get your grub on! They are located in the same shopping center as Kohls, so no worries on parking as they have plenty!!

It tends to be slow, and getting your server's attention can be a challenge. Paying the bill ends up feeling like a project, with long waits just to close out. If service improved, it would make a big difference, but as it stands, the experience doesn't quite match the expectations.

So good we ate there two nights in a row! Great location…read moredowntown; plenty of free street parking and a public lot across the street. Super friendly staff. Dog friendly with approx 8 tables outside. Inside is large & airy with a large Party room for events. Large bar & they make great drinks besides their huge selection of On Tap beers; Many are their house brand styles. Reasonably priced and the food is very good! Apps You can't go wrong with their Corn Fritters in a smokey, honey sauce or their Fried Green Tomatoes served with house made chow chow and goat cheese. Both large enough cooked perfectly, decent sized, and plenty of meat; Entrees The grilled Flank Steak Salad with with blue cheese crumbles ( I substituted feta) , sliced apples, walnuts, and red onions served with honey balsamic dressing was the perfect size and flavors. But the HR king here is the Pork Tenderloin topped with blackstrap molasses, garlic mashed potatoes and bacon Brussels sprouts. everything about this dish was perfect. The best of these commonly seen items. The second night we had different types of burgers which were good but not life changing. However their fries are crispy perfect. Mexican street corn was good but at $7 for one ear....not worth it. desserts ( and a lot of the drinks) come in little mason jars and are pretty good too. Great place and I highly recommend it. Crazy as it sounds the whole place (including the bar) is closed by 9 or 10pm daily. We'll be back

I got fish and chips and he got buttermilk chicken sandwich with fries. He ate all his fries and sandwich and said it was good. Sandwich came out hot but not fries. Mine was a big disappointment. The fish was burned and the batter had no flavor at all. Even doused with lots of malt vinegar, salt and pepper, it was still barely edible ( I ate the inside). If I hadn't been so hungry I would have sent it back, but I had not eaten all day and was hangry. In the picture you can see one showing the burnt side and I turned the other one over to check the other side. There was a kale slaw type salad that was just ok. Had lots of onion in it which I don't prefer. The fries were not good at all. Limp, no flavor. I only ate two and gave up. We went to Publix and got a frozen pizza and went home and cooked it. The place is nice, clean from what I saw and our waitress was wonderful. This would be a 3.5 only because of the great service.
