The absolute worst experience I have ever had at a tropical smoothie. The female employee working on Saturday afternoon May 17 was horrible and gave horrible service. I ordered from tropical smoothie at least three times a week at my usual, Winchester Road. This female on Whitesburg proceeded to never take a glance at me when I walked in never asked what I needed. Was I ordering? Was I picking up anything. I waited 10 minutes while she made other smoothies because I had placed my order online and it should've been ready eight minutes by this time after making at least six orders and handing them out to drive-through customers as well as walk-ins. The Supergreen Caesar wrap is very different from the original "King Caesar" chicken wrap you get in most other cities, it's smaller, expensive, but flavor is good. You'd have to customize it to achieve the desired flavor. Get extra chicken instead of the few pieces tossed in & extra Parmesan shreds will boost the flavor & fresh tomatoes. Extra Caesar dressing too-it's good. Overall, I'd give it a 3.5 stars on its own. It's too much lettuce and not much else. Jalapeño corn side dish is spicy corn for goodness sakes. It's good, but for the small amount you get-it ain't that good it comes free as a side with a wrap & $2.49 for less than a 1/3 of a cup with everything else or at your request. Chicken Caesar salad- what a disappointment I mean that thing starts at $10.59 and it's so small... I tried to doll it up with extra parm & heavy tomato but d$!n they're stingy!! Almost $15 for a bowl of nothing. Chicken is cold & dry, very dry & don't look for much. Tomatoes were fresh but they give you three 1/2 slices if you ask for extra. The lettuce is very bitter for some reason and they tossed in the disgusting, unwashed end piece of the lettuce (see photo) Chicken pesto pita- meh small, not worth $8.99+ flavor is decent, chicken was moist, but pita bread was burnt & that flavor lingers on the palate. Couldn't eat it all up because it was chewy at the end so I dug my chicken out & ate it since it cost me so much and I asked for extra cheese, okay, I love cheese-sue me, but didn't get it. This is A WASTE OF MONEY & GAS. I can make my own smoothies. I tried the strawberry daiquiri with spinach and an add on.... A whopping $7+ for fluff IN A CUP! Listen, don't think you're getting something "healthy" just because it's a smoothie or has a banana in it. They use that premade smoothie base (full of sugar & carbs). I loved my tropical smoothie in another state, however this one needs improvement on customer service . Maybe the protocol is different via each franchise, however upon ordering over $40 worth of smoothies & wraps, I asked if they had bananas " we're out of bananas ". The employee advised there were no bowls so they just made wraps. There was no offer for a refund or to take them off. There was no call made to inform that changes were being made to the orders. They just gave it to us and expected it to be okay. I don't eat wraps because I have a special diet. So I opened it up to just eat the inside because this was my lunch break and I couldn't do anything else at this point. There were 3 total pieces of lettuce in the whole wrap. It was mostly tiny carrots and small chopped up chicken with a few pieces of wonton strips tossed in there. This was my first experience and nothing about it made me think I'd give it a second shot. Ordered a smoothie through the app at 6:00pm for pick up at 8:05pm. I get there at 8:00pm they're closed with a note on the door that says "closed due to short staff", you can see multiple online orders sitting inside WASTED. If you knew there was a possibility that was more than likely going to happen were you are going to close early maybe just don't make the online orders if you aren't willing to stay and wait for the people who PAID FOR THE FOOD/SMOOTHIES..... The guy who brought me my smoothie didn't know anything about it. I asked him what they we're going to do the rest of the day. He brought me my change at that point. I've been here about 4 times. The chipotle chicken wrap is pretty good, the chicken was a little off but expected. I usually always get the veggie hummus wrap, it's just ok, nothing special at all. I used to LOVE the hummus wrap when I lived in Birmingham, AL. This was my first time at this Tropical Smoothie Cafe location and its was a pleasant visit. I ordered a turkey bacon ranch sandwich with a Hurricane smoothie. The sandwich was good and the smoothie was one of the best I've had. I went through the drive-thru and the employees were very nice. I received my order in a timely manner. As far as COVID restrictions, the employees had on masks. Since I used the drive-thru, I was not able to see how the establishment was taking precautions on the inside. However, I noticed an outside sign saying that only the patio seats were open for costumers. Overall the location seemed very nice and the food was good. read more

On several visits they shut down drive through but customers don't realize it and get stuck in the tight exit lane. I might be one of the only people who went to this place and didn't get a smoothie. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich. I loved it! The moment we stepped in, we were greeted and they opened up a second register to take our order. The young lady answered all my questions about the sandwich. My dad then ordered the Sunrise Sunset. He enjoyed his, however beware they are really large servings. We noticed with the calorie count by the smoothies there are probably no extra sugars. Overall, we would return, great food and service. Since this location opened, it has been plagued with the usual training and staff turnover issues. Our orders were consistently wrong - drinks and food. We were compensated with free meals, but it didnt make the experience better because they were to-go orders. Management and staff were not friendly and always looked unhappy and upset. We were always friendly and cheerful but it did not affect their behavior. After a year of incorrect food orders and the unwelcome attitudes, we were thrilled that the Carl T Jones location opened. Their staff and management is always welcoming and friendly. The access road to this location has been closed for the last several months, so just this past month we decided to try the Whitesburg location once again. We have now been to the Whitesburg location 3 times in August - first time back in about a year. We were SO pleasantly surprised! The staff is incredibly energetic, happy, and cheerful. They greeted us with a smile and pleasantries, answered menu questions with enthusiasm and gave their honest opinions. The food was absolutely fantastic - better than ever, prepared to perfection by O. C. - great cook! He actually brought our order to our table, he was so super sweet!! Our smoothies were perfect! JESSYCA and GRACE took our orders and prepared our smoothies. They were so cheerful and sweet, wonderful to talk to! There was another young lady, but unfortunately I didn't catch her name (apologies to her!). Our visits have been consistently great and we can't wait to visit again. We can't express how wonderful our experience has been with this new team in place. We usually see them during the week between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Thanks again to JESSYCA, GRACE and O. C.
