The food and service were great. We had butter chicken and lamb chops. The lamb chops were the best I've ever had! Highly recommend.

Updating my previous review since rhat was my first time dining in as Lotus…read more I had three entrees as well as garlic naan delivered recently by door dash. Door Dash took over 30 minutes longer than stated when I ordered. I digress. The food from Lotus was still hot, very well packaged, and presented with care. The entrees I ordered were chicken tikka masala, butter chicken masala and mutter paneer. All three generous portions were flavorful with enough sauce added to be enjoyed with the included sides of white rice. The garlic naan is well charred, soft and large! Enjoyed it.

Entering lotus you have a bare bones operation with minimal staff. Not knowing really what different Indian was, I remembered eating buttered chicken so I ordered it. My son ordered lamb curry. The meals are served on paper plates with plastic tableware. My skepticism vanished with my first bite! This place has fantastic food. The lady owner was extremely nice and even gave us a type of mango smoothie! Before you go research the type of dish you want. Although no one was in the restaurant besides us don't let that concern you as it does a brisk take out business which proved it was well thought of.

To everyone's surprise, there's fantastic Indian food in Kingsville! When you first walk in,…read morethere's TV screens with the menu and a hot bar with a variety of curries, chicken, and vegetarian options. Think of this spot as cafeteria style service, where you pick you meal served on a tray and then pay before you eat. The owners were extremely kind, letting me try the different curries (with the rice too!) and chicken before I decided on my meal. I chose the medium size meal which consisted of two entrees and rice. Butter Chicken - 8/10, I really liked this. Smooth and flavorful, and tender pieces of chicken. Chicken 65 - 10/10, delicious, crispy, sweet and not spicy at all. Reminded me of orange chicken, so an automatic 10. Mango Lassi - 10/10, not too thick, which I appreciate. Strong mango flavor and balanced my meal perfect. Garlic naan - 6.5/10, naan was pretty thick to my liking. But others may enjoy it. It was a good complement to the curries. Loved this place overall - best restaurant in Kingsville :)

The staff went above and beyond by offering generous samples, allowing me to taste a variety of dishes before deciding. Their hospitality made trying something new easy and enjoyable. I ordered the lamb and beef meatballs along with the Chicken 65, and every bite was outstanding. The flavors were rich, perfectly seasoned, and incredibly satisfying. Between the warm, welcoming service and the phenomenal food, it's easy to see why this place has such a great reputation. I can't wait to come back and try even more of the menu. Highly recommend!

I had to come make a review, my husband and I didn't have an opportunity to figure out dinner until…read moreit was already fairly late, we are staying in Port Aransas, and when we looked on DD to order delivery, nothing in the area was even open, we had a busy day, we are out of town, and hoped to order something healthy vs hitting a drive thru. Hubs tried U.E. And found Sufi Kabob. We are relative newbies when it comes to Indian, Middle Eastern cuisine, he's only had tandoori chicken and I've made my way around butter chicken and tikka masala lol, I know we are very limited in our experience for sure. He found tandoori chicken and order his "usual" and i studied the menu and finally settled on Chicken Shawarma. All I can say is I hurt myself eating wayyyy past the point of full My meal was outstanding! Let me start with your fragrant, beautifully prepared rice! The flavor is 10/10, and so stunning to look at, the vegetables and fluffy white rice were perfectly seasoned and honestly I could have eaten just that, but then there is a very flavorful small side salad in my box too, I'm telling you, the salad was so good it did not need dressing, lettuce, small diced cucumber, tomato, and onion. The chicken shawarma was absolutely delightful. Here's what's funny, I was worried that wed be lucky to even get a hot meal due to the time we ordered being closing, I was WRONG. My chicken was moist and the fragrant spices made it so good, if you have ever seen the movie "What About Bob" the scene when he's eating dinner at his doctors lake house... All the "MMMMMM's" and groaning due to deep appreciation for how delightful the food tasted... yeah, that was me! I do not know how I am going to survive going back home 7 hours from here and not having access to your delectable dishes! Now my husband dug into his tandoori chicken like a cave man, I'm still giggling, he's a rather reserved man, very polite and has good table manners, but he did not bother with a fork and knife to eat the leg quarters. I was over there saying "oh my gosh this is good" and sort of focused on my out of body experience when I noticed him holding the entire leg quarter and chewing with his eyes closed, he was almost done with his first piece of chicken when I asked if he'd tried the rice or any of the sauces yet, he just shook his head "no" and continued to eat the chicken off the bone, and I decided to mind my business. Oh my, we also got Hummus and naan, so good, I didn't have enough room to eat much so that will be lunch tomorrow, but it was wonderful. So thank you to the kitchen staff that prepared our food, thank you to the staff that packed it up so nicely, even writing the contents of each container on top, and thank you to the owners for being open late enough for us to have a much needed dinner, you are definitely on our must visit from now on when we are in beautiful Corpus Christi!

And outside the windows just traffic going by. Although they had some cool plants by the sidewalk. There was plenty of empty tables for us to be seated on that side so don't know why they put us in the sports bar. Big TVs had nothing but a sports commentary showing two guys but no sound and after that, the resting screen was showing for a long time. Reggae music playing. I ordered cashew chicken and my husband got orange chicken. Everything on both plates was from the same orange/yellowish color family, no green veggies at all. The crispies were good; ate all of those. Fried Rice was also orangey and needed to be cooked longer. I like bamboo shoots as much as the next person, but not a whole can on my plate. Too many water chestnuts also, but the amount of carrots was great. Usually there's never enough carrots for me. Egg drop soup: was trying to figure out what it tastes like since I've never actually had it before. Chicken broth. It tastes like chicken broth. Just with egg floating in it and the occasional carrot or pea, but it was good since the plates took a while to come out. There's a sign posted that says: We are not a fast food place. Note: Don't ask to sub wonton soup on your entree cause "that's a separate item". Waiter seemed annoyed to be asked that question because it clearly isn't a choice offered with the entree on the menu; only egg drop soup or hot and sour soup. I'm sure he gets asked that a lot. Doesn't seem to me to be too much to ask since they obviously have it. ‍
