I ordered a turkey bacon ranch sandwich. Got a turkey sandwich. I told the cashier and she reluctantly took the sandwich back, gave it back 5 mins later and said "we don't have any bacon sorry". I asked for a different sandwich and she said ok. Came to my table another 5 mins later and said they were going to make bacon and remake my sandwich. Waited 15 minutes and got tray of microwaved bacon. One person before me had a mix up, and one after me was given the wrong smoothie. Amazing food, friendly staff, they always have a positive attitude and it feels good to go there with their positive energy. This place, while not cheap it always at the top of my list of places to go to for lunch. They also have tacos now which is a nice change from the wrap or flat bread. This is one of my favorite tropical smoothie locations, however yesterday I had an unpleasant experience. At around lunch time, I walked into this location hungry and ready to order but as I waited in line, I noticed the man making the food was unmasked:(. He was visible from the back, and I had to turn around and go to the Port Jeff location. I understand the masks are a hassle but if you are making other people's food I feel like masks are pretty necessary during these scary times. I would normally not have accepted them but we were rushing because my husband needed to get to work. 4/28/18 went to tropical smoothie around 1:30 to get a couple smoothies. The cashier just took our orders and not our names to put on the cups, which made it confusing because multiple people ordered the same drink and just went up and grabbed it even though I was there before them. Very disappointed that I walk into the store with a Groupon on my phone. Only come to find out that tropical smoothie has yet to catch up to the 21st century and have type of technology to scan a phone app for a Groupon. I was told that they needed the paper copy and they couldn't scan it. So instead of using a Groupon I had to pay full price. Most likely will never use then again. Peanut butter cup smoothie is the best, it has just the right hint of banana in it.. for those days that you want an indulgent treat. Most days I stick with one of the supercharged smoothies- more specifically the get up and goji. At first I tried it because I thought that the name was clever, but it was DELICIOUS. Peach, banana, goji... perfect combo.. Food is great as well, especially ANY of the flatbreads. Caribbean Luau has chicken, mozz cheese, and pineapple. I came here for a smoothie and the man working there (who I think was the manager) was so helpful with my gluten allergy. He gave me a list of all the gluten free smoothies and told me he would even make a note to double wash the blender. I go to the Selden Tropical Smoothie as it is nearby, but also because it is clean and the staff are incredible. I don't know what they are feeding them, but I have never ever encountered a sullen or unpleasant staff at this location.
