Will happily come here again. All Tropical Smoothie Cafes are not created equal! This one is across from Kohls in the Kohls shopping center south of Rt. 27 in Shirley. Seemed closer to my destination than Hampton Bays so headed over. Super fast service - all bowls were done - but already packed in the bag - so checked for and saw NO blue spoons. Was annoyed when told they were likely "on the bottom" (of course looked) or even under the bowls and then was given "extra spoons". Hm. Excuse me - can you help me find them.. let's look under all of these bowls! Hm!! Only white bottom of bag. Just a teaching moment really - until outside and these bowls were paltry. That's a deal breaker! The best TSC ever is in Merrick- they are super fresh and made to look gorgeous. Back to Shirley - Employees were friendly and hard working. I've ordered from here a few times. Their smoothies are good, and their jalapeño corn is super yummy and kale and apple salad, too. The location I visited is clean, and quiet... I can actually hear myself and the staff are welcoming. Usually when I ordered, it arrives in a timely manner. read more

We've been DYING for this location to open & they're finally here!! I always get a Kiwi Quencher & strongly believe it's a gateway smoothie! So if you have a non-believer grab them one & they'll get hooked! Beautiful since it's brand new! I'm unsure if the drive through is fully operating but I'll be back to check it out for sure. The Shirley location is tbe WORST location. Everytime I order for pickup or at the counter. They get my order wrong. I love the PB crunch bowl and for some reason it's always made wrong. They made it into a smoothie, into a wrap and into a bowl but with the wrong filling. It's happened everytime I've ordered from that location. Then when I go to a different location and order the same item, it's correct. So it definitely has to be the staff. They are never nice or welcoming. They seem awkward and uninterested in being there. When I ask them to kindly fix my item and make the correct one, they have an attitude about it. Like it's my fault that it's wrong! read more

Food was good, smoothie was good, service was next to terrible. On 7/26 12:00pm- 1:00pm, an angry young girl working here was cussing and yelling while about 10 customers were in the establishment. She was on the register and walked behind the wall partition and began yelling about an oven or something if I can remember correctly. Therefor she was well aware of the amount of costumers present. The wall did not muffle her voice at all. A male worker took over the register and was much more polite, which is the only reason I'd rate this place 2 stars instead of 1. I don't know if he was a manager but he appeared to be in charge as he was far more professional. However he did not say anything to the young girl about the foul language she was using as if maybe he were nervous to approach her. She was yelling words like FU*K and SH*T etc... This made the whole environment a bit tense and uncomfortable as almost all the customers went silent. A few minutes earlier when she was on the register she had a very annoyed attitude as if customers were bothering her for ordering or asking questions regarding the menu. People have bad days all the time but as an employee she should understand it is extremely unprofessional to use foul language and shout in a confrontational way while at work, especially in front of this many customers. The customers appeared eager to just get their food and leave immediately. I wouldn't return to this establishment if this employee is still here as I don't trust people handling my food while angry or potentially confrontational, or perhaps because I just don't enjoy being around negative environments and mean people. Honey, the shift manager on duty when I went, is seriously the best. I got a smoothie and she came outside to see my son drinking mine on the 85 degree weather. She came back out with a smoothie for him for free. That is a quality boss right there. Both of our smoothies were on point. We will be stopping back next time we're in the shopping center. read more

WORST TROPICAL SMOOTHIE LOCATION EVER! I ordered 1 smoothie & 2 cheese quesadillas, it took OVER A HALF HOUR and both quesadillas came out with chicken!! My fiancé is a vegetarian & made it clear that it's a CHEESE QUESADILLA. AVOID THIS LOCATION LIKE THE PLAGUE! Not to mention the smoothie was terrible, we ended up throwing the entire order in the garbage & getting food somewhere else.
