Negative experience. It was my first and last time buying at this particular location. The guy who made my order didn't blend smoothie well enough and there were chunks of ice. On top of that, he forgot to add probiotic to my order, even though I paid for it. Flatbread I've ordered was smaller than usual and tasted bad (looked not very appetizing): pesto sauce seems to have been from grocery store with a very sour old taste and looked like it was not pesto sauce that Tropical Smoothie Cafe usually is using for its Pesto Chicken flatbread. Chicken also tasted not its best. Person working there didn't greet or say good bye, like it usually is at other Tropical Smoothie Cafe locations. I used to LOVE tropical smoothie but it's just not the same anymore. It's clean enough inside but the ambiance is a little tired, there's no music, there's nothing "tropical" about it. The one and only person working today was pleasant and got our order made quickly. $26 for two wraps and 1 smoothie isn't outrageous with today's prices but these wraps were just so tiny and sad looking, and neither of us got our side with the meal. Maybe their menu has changed but it used to come with chips or a side. I'm stuck between 3 and 4 stars because nothing was wrong with our food, it just wasn't 4 star food either lol. I'll eat here again when I'm craving the buffalo chicken wrap but I can't say I'd go out of my way for it. read more

Absolutely horrible service. We ordered 3 separate smoothies all of different types and they all came out disgusting, no taste and watery. Afterwards we tried to speak to the workers about this issue, who got their boss and proceeded to get in an argument with us, call the 3 of us and other customers around us having the same issues LIARS, and REFUSE to give refunds or to remake the smoothies better. - After asking for a receipt we got told no, you cannot have one. - After asking the worker and the manager to contact the owner, we got a "he doesn't answer our phone calls" and a scribbled down phone number which got no answer. - Before we walked out, after simply asking the manager to do better, he said and I quote "I don't care about them, see orders just keep coming in" (as a mobile order came in.) If I could rate this a ZERO star I could all day. This was an absolutely terrible experience and I urge anyone to stay away from this location. read more

I've been here 3 times over the past year and I won't be eating there again until someone tells me they had a good smoothie or sandwich. Depending on which employee is working, determines your experience at this location. Sometimes I get the smoothie I ordered, but mostly it's more of a slushy. Way more ice than anything else. There was a blonde, short and skinny girl, employee in a few weeks ago, who actually made fun of me, because I messed up my app order. When I apologized to the boy making the smoothie, she went to the back (which is not soundproof) and mockingly repeated my apology. I needed to use the restroom while in and waiting for an order my daughter placed, last week. I held it and waited to get home. The photos can't truly show how neglected it was. The app, now that I've figured out how to request no added sugar, is easy enough. You'll definitely spend significantly more, trying to earn points, than you'll ever receive in discounts. But, when it works, it's a nice way to make sure your order is ready when it's convenient for you to pick it up. For the price and the hassles, I can't recommend this place. It's good, if you don't need good. I hope this helps someone else. read more

I've been here twice...first time for a smoothie, which was good. The second time I visited I ordered a smoothie, a sandwich and a bowl. Again the smoothie was good but the food was awful. I ordered the hummus veggie bowl...menu description is as follows: Hummus, smashed avocado, pepper jack cheese, a romaine, kale and spinach blend, rice, black beans, pickled red onions, tomatoes and lite ranch. Sounds good right? Well mine was mostly shredded iceberg lettuce, no hummus, no avocado, no kale, no spinach, no tomatoes, and about 6 dried up looking black beans. How do you serve something with hummus in the name and not include hummus?!? The quality reminded me of the salad bowls at Sheetz, but not really even that good. I'm not one to throw out food, but I couldn't even eat it. Also tried to use the 20% off coupon we got here on Yelp, but she took 2 cents off our order instead of applying the 20% discount. Not sure how you mess that up. Two stars just because the smoothies are decent. read more

Not that long ago, I ordered ONE kiwi quencher, from this location , ONE. I had to show the worker the text of the order my brother wanted. The text message said "ONE kiwi quencher". So I told the worker and even SHOWED the worker my order. The lady who makes the smoothies comes out with 2 kiwi quenchers. 1 big one and 1 small one. So I told the lady that I only ordered one. So the lady that made the smoothies told the lady that took my order and she told her that she saw on my phone that it said "two" but the text message said "kiwi quencher" . "kiwi quencher" MEANING it's SINGULAR. I not only told her, but I SHOWED HER. I then just left with the 2 kiwi quenchers because I knew they weren't going to give me a refund. I've heard lots of bad reviews from this specific location and the subway that's next door. The people who took my order are the owners of the tropical smoothie and the subway next door. I could not have had a better experience at this tropical smoothie! Their staff is INCREDIBLE. I brought in a group 10 and they were so helpful and kind and never rushed us! They even got all our food out to us in less than 10 minutes! It was incredible! And the food was great and no mistakes! I had an island quesadilla which was different than what I was expecting but good! I also had a pomegranate smoothie that was SO good. If you're in this area, go give this place some love!! Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a good place to get a smoothie with your friends and family. They have variable of different smoothies. Sunset sunrise is probably their best. I don't have much to say about there food but I've had like one thing the menu that was pretty good. I think it was called the Cesar wrap. I recommend going here. read more

My children and I love this restaurant chain, but this location is consistently disappointing. It seems every time we come they are out of supplies. This has included bottled water and forks, which should be standard staples kept well stocked. The smoothies are often not mixed well and the food is not prepared as well as we have enjoyed at other locations. It's a shame, because we love to shop in the Winchester area, but will drive all the way to Martinsburg after for lunch because their location is consistently well stocked, with great food and service. The service in Winchester is subpar. The typical response I have received from workers when told they are out of supplies is a laugh. Stopped here frequently when I worked for another retail establishment in the same shopping plaza. The food is all made to order. The smoothies are about all I can eat. That is because of surgery cannot consume solid foods. The owner is an awesome guy, he gets out there and actually works with his employees - something most in a leadership roll would not do and a lot don't know how to do what their employees do. He catered a lunch for my office today and it was really awesome. This, and the other Tropical Smoothie Cafe on the other side of Winchester are owned by a very cool husband/wife. When they first opened, I sat there and talked with the owner for hours and hours about how he got to where he was opening up his franchise. Everytime I went in, he'd always greet me and ensured I'd always get the best service. When they are both there, the service is impeccable -- food (while basic) always came out fresh, and no one could touch the uncanny taste of the smoothies. While they were working on opening the other TSC in Winchester, they brought in an energetic college grad to run this TSC -- unfortunately, while business may still be good for them, it's hard for me to go back. The guy was so pampas to both myself and my wife, that I'm not sure it's worth my time and effort to head back, not to mention the way he treated employees in front of us. read more

So I've always liked this company. The smoothies are top notch and have always been really delicious and make me feel healthy lol. Getting food here I was unsure of how good it would be. But the wraps and interesting choices they provide are really good. This time I had a Thai chicken wrap and it was really good. Not dried out and the sauce in it was super delicious. I also tried a chicken bacon ranch sandwich which of course you can never go wrong with ;) we tried mocha chocolate cappuccino flavored smoothie and the island green one. Which is a go to for me. You get healthy and fruity on one side and that coffee and sweet on the other. All in all really good. This location is kinda in the middle of nowhere but service was pretty fast cuz of the lack of customers lol. Little cold inside but not uncomfortably. I usually come in during breakfast but sometimes at night and consistency is my only complaint but its a big one... the same smoothie tastes different from trip to trip and theres been a few times I've been there at night only to find nobody at the counter and some young teen agers texting in the back... Stopped in on a long road trip looking for something good and quick. The mojo flatbread wrap was spicy and delicious and the pomegranate smoothie was yummy for the trip down the road. My husband and two teens all gave thumbs up to this little gem. The cafe was very clean and nicely decorated and stocked and clean bathrooms. read more
