Stumbled on this shop tonight looking for a gift for my daughter. She is very into vintage and cottage core style. Trove had a lot of good options and I walked out with a purse and scarf. I walked in the store to sell a huge bag of clothing and the first thing I see is this older lady who works there fussing at her employee, right in front of me (which was so awkward to watch). She was so rude to him I wanted to leave immediately, but I drove a long way to get to the store. I wait at the countertop until she stops fussing, then she looks at me with my huge bag of clothes in hand and I tell her I'm here to sell, (I called before I came and was told it was ok to come by the same older lady). She then tells me it takes up to a week to get my clothes back and tells me this is not like any other consignment shop.... What kind of shop takes a week to get your clothes back, that's crazy??!? I said in the nicest way possible, that I wouldn't be able to wait a week because I live no where near this location as couldn't drive back. Without me even giving a final decision, she proceeds to tell me WITHOUT even opening up my bag of clothing, "DON'T WORRY WE PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN YOUR CLOTHES ANYWAY." I have no idea what she meant by that (really trying not to take it the wrong way) but the way she said it was very rude. Then she proceeded to tell me to "go to goodwill across the street." Oh well too bad my little geriatric daisy, I had Louboutins, Louis Vuitton, BCBG, Zara, Balenciaga and every other label you could have imagined in my bag. The next store I went to pretty much took all of my stuff. Don't know what's up her butt. read more

Very cute store with a wide range of brands, all very reasonably-priced. I found familiar brands as well as brands I didn't know. Today, I bought a pair of tall Hunter rain boots I needed as well as a great pair of practically pristine black suede loafers with an adorable, animal print inset. There are some very fancy labels too: if only the Loro Piana cashmere coat was my size (sigh!), and a small selection of vintage items and china and crystal. I have always found everyone here to be welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Kudos for having parking, too! read more

I was told they do not buy any items outright. However, the owner responds below that they do. Very shady. I left my beautiful Badgely Mischka gowns there and when I called on the designated day to pick up, so they could prepare my goods, the woman on the phone was obviously hoping I did not remember! She took a very long time to check the dates...ha! Glad I was on top of my dates.So glad they did not sell there cuz comparable gowns on eBay go for $1400 each and they were only marking them for$750 each and giving me only $300. So relieved they did not sell there. Consignment places are just bad news. Moral of story: don't believe these reviews. read more

Not recommended. They took 2 of my 8 items. Then at some later point they decided not to sell one and sent an wmail. I didn't see the email and didn't pick it up after 7 days so they discarded the sweater. Before rhey told me they discarded the sweater they said if I wanted to have it back i had to find it. They kept saying that they sent me an email, but that is not the point. They also said this is how they've done business for years. That is also not the point. I don't know why I had to pay for their mistake of taking something that they really didn't want to sell. At a minimum they should make it more plain when you are depositing items that is a prescreening and that you should check your email for seven days. I am sure nobody told me that when I drop the clothing off, regardless of whether it's in their email. Update: The owner has now commented that it is all in the email. Emailing about your crappy business practice does not make it less crappy. read more

I have sold and bought stuff here and I have to say they're really good for both. For the selling, you bring your stuff to the store and the employees will go through it and take what they can sell. These women are so good at their job because every time I leave clothes here, almost all of it sells. I also get the best resale value here compared to every other consignment store in LA and online. As for the buying, they have some legit name brand stuff. I'm talking Valentino, Ferragamo, Balenciaga etc. They have some pretty well off people sell here so if you're looking for designer goods, this is your place. They also sometimes get a Chanel purse. I was shopping there the other day and I overheard the employees saying they had a Chanel purse in their inventory but they were waiting for it to get appraised/validated. This made me feel like they're thorough with their assessments. Personally, I've gotten a few good things here, but I don't always find stuff I love. The designer stuff isn't really my thing, so that's probably why. read more

I love to secondhand clothing and find clothes for a great price, this store was absolutely wonderful!!! This is one of the best secondhand stores I have ever visited with great brands, I got a betsey Johnson dress and a Tahari suit with a matching skirt and some other great things and spent under 150 dollars. There was great customer service as well the ladies at the counter were very sweet and welcoming as well as the lady who helped me at the dressing room. If you live in LA and enjoy thrifting like me I couldn't recommend this place more!! read more

I love this shop. From the clever name on the front to the staff inside. I brought my daughter with me today for her first trip. Found a brand new cute top for five bucks that she'll wear at work (from the upstairs section). We just happened to find another brand new item (frame in the wrapping) we needed for a poster we bought yesterday. It was a perfect fit. We got lucky, right? It was the first place we looked. And, there's parking in their small lot off busy Westwood Blvd. Pull right in on the east side of Westwood. Easy peasy. Means a lot to me. Highly recommend this shop. It has been almost a year since my first review as a buyer but now I am reviewing my experience as a consigner. Trove makes it so easy to sell items and they offer much more, (40%) than other consignment stores. They are very organized and the payout check comes promptly. I have online access to watch my account and see what sells daily. It is a lot of fun to see the money rolling in! I also appreciate that they do not only take designer items but my everyday casual and business wear. I love Chanel as much as the next person but I own far more other lines that they also take. The best part is they accept home goods and furniture. Recently my mom downsized and I was able to sell many of her lamps, crystal ware and curios. Many were very expensive and I appreciated a place to sell them that accepted a large variety of pieces. Anyway, whether you are a shopper or a seller, TROVE is a great place! read more

This place is a joke. Besides that they sold almost nothing I consigned there and had an attitude when I asked questions about how the system worked, what they did sell,. which was a 30 year old Madonna Inn ice chest that even they labelled collectible. I got a grand total of $2 dollars for it. Then they also sold a pair of brand new, never worn, $85 dollar with the tag still on them Michael Kors black slacks in a size six. $4. So a grand total of six dollars for things I had seen going for much more on eBay or other resale sites. I figured I'd get a little less coming here but wouldn't have to hassle with packing and shipping. What I got was ripped off. Because you know they made significantly more off those items then I did. I have shopped at this store regularly, I am an avid thrift and vintage shopper. Today, I had a very rude interaction with a salesperson who took something out of my hands that was on a rack easily accessible customers but apparently had not been priced yet. I asked when it would be priced, she answered "today." I am here today, and she gave no further indication as to when. I had an armful of other garments that I wanted to try on. I went looking for a more helpful person to let me in the dressing room. They directed me back to the person who just took the merchandise out of my hand and reprimanded me, I asked to please have someone else open the door, and they pressed me as to why, walked off and I was just standing there holding all these pieces and I thought to myself, why not just give my business to someone else? I will not be coming back, I left a few hundred dollars of business unpurchased. They apparently don't need my business, or yours! read more

Trove - Women's Clothing Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Low end resale shop. Didn't see any of the name brands I was looking for. Large shop but just didn't have anything that interested me.

Decent thrift store that opened up in September! For "lower end" items the pricing is very fair and competitive, but for "higher end" items, there are places with better pricing. I bought 4 items here the other day (F21 & similar brands) for a total of $30 and love them all, so I can't knock this place. :) However - a pair of designer jeans here will go for $30-45, which isn't a bad deal unless you're used to other thrift stores that charge $10 for the same pair. :) Likewise I saw a $40 Vince Camuto sweater that would have been half that at most of the other thrift stores I go to. Again, still not a bad deal. I've heard this place has some of the most competitive buying prices in the area too, although I haven't sold anything here. The store itself is clean and well-organized, and they also have rotating sales based on tag color (most of the items I bought were on sale). They clearly have quality items with minimal/no wear. Staff was friendly and enthusiastic. While this place is primarily for women's clothing (although they are planning to open a men's section soon!), definitely worth mentioning is their tiny-but-awesome home goods section. I saw several pieces I really liked (artwork, a glass bowl, vases), but that just didn't fit in my current minimalist apartment. This place probably isn't compelling enough to make my normal rotation since I live in Santa Monica, however I could see myself coming here again for a change of pace and to see how it develops. Came in here for the first time ever a few weeks ago - was really impressed and surprised with the selection - so many cute items at a really reasonable cost. The clothes felt fresh and didn't smell musty at all (which sometimes is an issue with vintage / recycled clothing)... I'm really sensitive to smell so this is so important to me. I love the idea of extending the life of clothing and rather than contributing to mass consumerism / waste, I'm reusing. Also, the selection is huge.... the store is much bigger than it appears from the street. read more

On a whim, I stopped into this place while on a business trip to LA. Glad I did. Such a cute and fun shop, with an eclectic mix of clothing and housewares to suit every style and budget. Quite a few pieces caught my eye, but unfortunately none but one of them (a belt, at that) fit me. Nevertheless, I had fun browsing -- and I'm sure if I stopped in regularly that I'd find some really great pieces to round out my closet. Almost immediately after posting my negative review I heard from Danielle, the owner, who profusely apologized and let me know that things were in the works to make my situation right. It was really just a series of miscommunications that created the problem and she acknowledged that she needs to work with her staff on that. Julian followed up with a call the next day and I promptly received my second check for the curtains and missing shirt. Overall I made $112 selling at Trove, but I'm still not sure it's worth it for me to make a habit of consigning there. While I always give a business credit for admitting their mistakes and trying to rectify the situation, there were just too many mistakes that cost me quite a bit of my time for me to completely turn around my rating. However, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that this is not a normal experience, so I would encourage you to try it if you were thinking of selling there and see if it's a worthwhile endeavor. As I said, they are much friendlier than all the other resale places I've been to in L.A, which definitely counts for something. read more
