Asked for a free quote to fix 2 toilets. One clogged, the other just not working period. They contacted me within an hour to set up appointment for service tech to come out. We set up an appointment, but due to an emergency on their part, we had to wait an extra day (actually the weekend since it was a Friday afternoon). After setting appointment for Monday morning, they contacted & changed it to an afternoon appointment - luckily we're retired so could arrange to be home. Tech called before coming. Confirmed he would be there in 45 minutes. He arrived on time. He very quickly assessed both toilets. One needed auguring & the other needed replacement parts. He didn't carry the parts on his truck, so he went to pick them up & came back. Eric was friendly, efficient & helpful. He took care of our problems quickly. I had a very pleasant interaction with Roy. I found Open Line Plumbing and their five Yelp star reviews by asking for quotes through Yelp messaging. I needed a Moen Flo leak detector device installed and a temperature sensor because if I didn't my insurance, Safeco was terminating me. So Roy was the first bidder to show up. But I got a bid for $950 not including the device which I got through Yelp messaging from another company, just as an estimate. Roy showed me how he was going to run the path and that it was not a simple installation because there wasn't much room on the pipe and he had to make all these modifications. Well we got sidetracked because I had two Toyota RVs on my driveway. And Roy was asking me about the two RVs and then he told me he has a school bus that he modified to be an RV where he took his wife and two kids all the way across the country and through Canada. He showed me pictures of the 40 ft School bus on his phone, and the interior that he put in it Looked just like a regular RV interior Well he did a terrific job everything looked like new, his school bus, not my copper pipe. And it turned out I found later that Roy's company gave me the cheapest installation price if I provide the Moen flow they would install it for $350. Other companies who came after him we're incredulous about Roy's price and well, I couldn't say that they would say anything good about it because they couldn't beat the price. But Roy had his office give it to me in writing. I have not gotten to the point yet and I think rather than do the things that my insurance company wants me to I'm trying to find alternative ways to avoid it by changing status of my insurance. But I could see why this company has five solid Yelp Stars if I would need to install the Moen Flo, I would pick Open Line Plumbing and hope that Roy comes to my door. read more

When I confirmed we were going to move ahead, they set an appointment the next day and came on time. There were no issues doing the drain kit replacements. My only minor complaint was they charged $30 for materials, but ended up not needing to use any materials. They said the price was fixed, even though the materials were itemized on the invoice. I put out an open request on Yelp! for a plumbing issue (leaking toilet, detail which was provided on Yelp! as part of a request for service). This company was one of about five that responded to me via email stating they were available to come out tonight, which is more convenient then trying to get it inspected tomorrow afternoon (two other companies so far). So I called the company and the rep had pretty poor customer service skills and very little info, just took general info like my name, phone number and address. I asked for a quote for the inspection, he couldn't even give me that. Said he would have a technician call me back with that when they were on the way over. Uh, no. You give me the quote BEFORE you even come over or you can't come over. Not sure what they were trying to pull or if it was just a communication problem but that response coupled with the overall tone of the call (like my call was an inconvenience to them even though they emailed me first) was enough for me to tell them, "Nevermind, I'm not interested.) Yet they still had someone call me back, some woman with a foreign accent. I then returned the courtesy of being just as blunt as they were to me on my initial call in. "I already stated that I'm not interested." Not sure if their actual plumbing skills are great or not because I couldn't get past their poor customer service from the jump. And customer service is usually a good indication of their level of service overall. read more

I appreciate how responsive Open Line was with my request. I needed to replace the stop valves so I could hook up a washer for my tenants and provided a picture of the problem. I got a response quickly and they even offered to come out the same day. They provided a quote so I could get an idea of the price - something other vendors wouldn't provide. In the end, the repair went smoothly. I got updates through pictures, videos, and calls (I was away). In the end, they even offered to install and haul away my old washer although I used a different vendor from where I purchased my washer. Everything looked great and the washer was connected with no problem. A few days after, my water heater tank started leaking and open line was my first contact. They were able to come out within 30 minutes, diagnose, replace the defective unit, and install a new one. I really appreciate Roy and his team that came out to solve the issues. They were the most responsive out of the entire project I sent out on Yelp to multiple businesses. They called and clearly provided their plan and prices and availability giving me all of the info I needed to make the decision. Not only that but he said that some of the work the first technician from another company mentioned, does not even need to be done so we saved a couple hundred dollars on that alone. AND he said should the need to tear into the drywall to complete the work if it was more extensive, he would patch it up, repair, and repaint it. None of the other 5 businesses said they would do that and who would like a giant gaping whole in their wall?
