My bill included a 7.5% Fair Wage Service Fee and a 3% Credit Card Surcharge. I was not told about either of these before paying.

First off I want to say that Troy's has great BBQ. Their ribs are fantastic and we have frequently ordered from them for parties. Troy's is my goto BBQ place in Boynton. That being said I feel compelled to give them a one-star review because they did something which I really dislike. They included two charges on my takeout order without notifying me. The first is that they included a 7.5% "FAIR WAGE SERVICE FEE." I did not see anything posted at Troy's about it nor did anyone mention it to me before I paid. I only saw it when I arrived home and looked at the bill. In my opinion this borders on fraud. The receipt (see the picture) says at the bottom that "Service charge helps support fair wages for our kitchen & service staff. Thank you for dining with us." If the restaurant wants to pay its employees more, then they should raise the price of their menu items. Don't hide it on the bill. Of course that is what they want because they don't want people to see their food prices go up. The second charge was a 3% Credit Card Surcharge. Again, I did not see anything posted about that. At least let me know and give me the option of paying cash. I know some restaurants do this, but at least make sure the customer knows. So overall, I paid 10.5% more than I had anticipated. On an almost $160 food bill, that is about $16 extra. It's a shame because I really liked Troy's. However, because of their hidden charges which I feel are very deceitful, it will be a long time before I return.

My Love always says "Rib tips and fries for the win!" And it doesn't get better in Boynton than Troy's! Also there's a twisted lemonade on their drink menu (no alcohol) and not only is the drink GORGEOUS , but it was delicious! Their yams are another of my particular favorite! The drive through service is always friendly and fast!

Troy's Barbecue in Boynton Beach offers a cozy, homey atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. We wasn't sure about what we wanted to eat after our hair appointment and stumbled across this place by passing by. I ordered the brisket with mac & cheese and collard greens, which came with an unexpected side of rice. The portions were generous, justifying the slightly higher prices. My sister chose the 10 wings with fries, opting for buffalo sauce on the side, while I enjoyed spicy and honey barbecue sauces with my brisket. The brisket was perfectly cooked--tender and flavorful--and the macaroni and cheese was a standout, creamy and rich. However, the collard greens were a bit over-seasoned, with salt, though it still had a nice flavor. The cornbread was a delightful addition, warm and slightly sweet. They accept Apple Pay/credit cards and ofc course cash. Overall, I'd rate Troy's a solid 10 out of 10 and would definitely return for more of their delicious barbecue!

BBQ!!! ***drools*** I can't tell you how long it's been since I've had BBQ, but sure why not pick the hottest day of summer to check it off the list. I remember this place when it was just a small neighborhood spot, in a shack with a cooker outside, that simply smelled to-die-for. They changed to a store front a long time ago, hopefully it gets them the exposure they most definitely deserve! Came here with my boss and was ready to absolutely FEAST. Troys didn't let us down! I got the pulled pork sandwich with a sweet and hot sauce that topped it. The sandwich only came with 1 side, got the collard greens, but the longer I stood in front of the glass while the gentleman fixed my sandwich the lingering smell of candies yams hit my nostrils, I HAD to add it on. My boss got the Brisket dinner. We were drooling waiting for our food! Once we sat down it only took us but a few minutes to completely annihilate our food!! We were both pleasantly fat and stuffed sitting there looking at the chaos we made of our plates. Honestly some of the best BBQ I've had. The staff here is so friendly and courteous. I can't wait to come back and try the ribs....*loosens belt on pants*.....it's worth the added weight lol

We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to look over the menu before ordering. We started with the Steak Tartare, served with beer-battered smoked onion petals, truffle, egg yolk, and manchego. It was excellent and one of the highlights of the meal. We also tried the Za'atar Roasted Local Vegetables with spicy greens, feta tzatziki, lime pickles, and pepitas. It was good, but it wasn't my favorite dish. For our entrées, one person ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese with pork and beef ragu, housemade raw milk ricotta, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. It was rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Jerk Local Swordfish from Fort Lauderdale with braised Swiss chard, local radish escovitch, and jackfruit miso beurre blanc. While the swordfish itself was cooked well, I wasn't a fan of the jerk seasoning. The flounder, however, was outstanding and probably my favorite entrée. To drink, I had the Les Fumées Blanches Orange Sauvignon Blanc, which I really enjoyed. Someone else had an Old Fashioned. For dessert, we shared the Affogato with mascarpone ice cream, dark chocolate, and espresso, and it was a perfect ending to the meal. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and we appreciated being able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. It is on the pricey side, but that's fairly typical for a farm-to-table restaurant using quality ingredients. There's a small parking lot behind the restaurant, and we were lucky enough to grab a spot. Overall, it's a fun place for a date night or a nice dinner with family. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. Or if you want, they have a great bar and you can hang out there and have a bite.

Don't sleep on Boynton Beach - cocktail bar vibe, hiding in plain site in a strip mall... this gem is chef inspired and simply amazing. We tried the wood fired asparagus served on toast with a gooey egg and then the pork belly grilled baby bok choy and both had me in the happy chair dance. Although steak definitely makes sense with a wood fire concept, instead we tried the lamb rack served with a mint sauce combo that has you cleaning the plate and local pompano served curry lite with wild mushroom (delish)! If you are a foodie make your way here. This was a spot where one (or is it just me) considers maybe we order everything to try? And we left the fun for another time. I have my eye on their spiced lamb bolognese and another amazing cocktail. The cocktails are mostly milk fat clarified which adds yet another fun twist to a new fav spot! Make a reservation and if you are in the area during the day it is a solid cafe. This is how I found it to begin with! Nom nom nom - enjoy

It's like sitting next to a warming fire. This time we tried the grilled asparagus, the grilled baby bok choy with pork belly and gorgonzola (our favorite), the luncheonette burger with crispy fries, the double cut pork chop with grilled cabbage and pickled mustard seed, and the waygu lamb (I know, a lot of food!). Everything was fantastic but the burger initially came out a bit undercooked (we ordered it medium) so they cooked it a bit more and quickly brought it back. I thought the lamb wagyu was a bit light on the meat, the pork chop was amble and laid out nicely on the plate. We also tried the watermelon tequila drink (very refreshing and not too sweet), an old fashioned, and they have a good list of wines. We love the big cube in cocktails. I don't know how they got them to be so clear. The bar tender was great and the cooks were working very hard. The owner always comes by to say hello and chat. Second Rodeo varies the menu.

The mango salsa added a nice sweet and fresh touch that paired perfectly with the crunchy coconut coating. We also shared the salmon topped with crab. We made our reservations for 4:30, thinking it was too early, we are glad we did that. It was small inside, has an open bar, and the ambiance and decor were nice. The kitchen is small so the waiter asked if we could put our full order in at once so in case they get busy, our order won't take super long. My wife and I agreed on sharing a Porterhouse steak but unfortunately, they ran out the night before. The Waiter told us their daily meat, fish, and starters. We ordered the Empanadas, Me So Crispy, Wedge Salad, 40oz New York Strip (daily meat special), Mac, and Fries. Way too much food for the 2 of us. They brought out a little free snack that's Curried Chicken Salad on a Tortilla chip. Absolutely delicious. Next was the Empanadas and Me So Crispy. The Empanadas with the chimichurri sauce was amazing. The best empanadas we've ever had. I'm not a big seafood fan, but the Spicy Tuna Tartare on the Crispy Rice was spectacular. That was my favorite starter. The Wedge salad came and that was delicious also, the egg was boiled perfectly. The service is amazing. Checking up on us throughout the time. They brought out steak knives from Argentina and we got to choose our weapons. The 40oz New York Strip with sauces, Mac, and fries came out and it was the best cut of meat I've ever had. We ordered it rare to medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. It had a great sear and crust on it, it cut super easily and was super tender. Mac was really good as well, and the fries were perfect. Didn't even need ketchup for them. After we were done, they brought out a free Madeleine and chocolate muffin. They also gave us free Champagne to celebrate our anniversary. We ordered Bread Pudding because why not and it was delicious too. My wife and I have been to quite a few fancy expensive restaurants where even one was 420$ a person. Nicholson Muir has turned to our number 1. We have zero complaints. They exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend them to anyone. We will definitely be back.
