I guess everyone's tastes are different but I really didn't care for the barbecue or sides here. Got the pork dinner. Not a lot of flavor in the meat or the sauce. Sides weren't that great either. Mac and cheese was bland and baked beans tasted like they dumped a 5 pound bag of sugar in each portion. Also, the menu says it comes with a corn muffin, instead I got a freaking kaiser roll. Pretty ridiculous and a long way from a corn muffin. The lady working the counter was also pretty rude. Came with some friends and we all ordered together. The lady at the counter got bent out of shape because I ordered my pork dinner and then my friend ordered one next. She wanted to know why we didn't just order 2 pork dinners. Sorry I didn't ask him ahead of time to see what he was getting, so that we could coordinate our order with you. After we ordered another customer came up and said they forgot to give her the mac and cheese she ordered. The lady at the counter didn't believe her and started arguing with her about it. Just give the lady some mac and cheese. It costs the business about $0.25 a serving to make and it's not like she's asking for more meat. The customer had to finally go talk to some guy (not sure if it was Troy himself or what) and then he gave her some. The thing that bothered me the most was that we had to wait almost 30 minutes for our food and it wasn't busy and this isn't a sit down restaurant, it's a barbecue joint where you grab it to go. It's ridiculous to have to wait that long for barbecue since everything from the meat to the sides are cooked way ahead of time. We weren't waiting on a fresh hog to come off the smoker either, so I still have no idea why it took so long. Also, even given that, I'm cool with waiting for food if it's good, but this wasn't, so it definitely wasn't worth a 30 minute wait. Seems like this place is living off an image as being a hole in the wall barbecue joint, since people see that and think it must be good. It's basically the same thing upscale places do (it's expensive and fancy, so it must be good), with just a different spin. Not a fan and won't be going back. read more

Wow this is the best bbq ive had in a minute. Last time i had bbq this good it was in alabama! We showed up at 4pm and almost everything had sold out. We planned to try everything but unfortunately the only protein option was pulled pork. We decided to try that. Got a pulled pork sandwich which comes with 1 side $11 and got a pulled pork dinner which comes with 2 sides and a cornbread $16. Let me tell you that was the best pulled pork ive ever had in my life. So juicy and tender. Bbq sauce was delicious too my husband liked the orange sauce and i preferred the deep red one. Peas and rice was good had a smokey flavor, mac and cheese was good but a bit plain just pasta with melted cheese lacked depth but enjoyable nonetheless. Fries were perfect fried fresh crinkle cut. Cornbread was great too very moist and cakey i hate dry cornbread. Meat portion was just the right amount very filling and i can eat a lot. Overall we loved it and cannot wait to go back and try everything else. Just make sure you get there early if you want options. Also i will say its very chaotic and disorganized in there so check and make sure you got everything you ordered. We were missing one side when we got home. read more

The ordered the ribs and brisket meal with collard greens and sweet potato. The side of corn bread was dried from being under the hot lamp and I ordered a slice of pound cake and it as well was stale. The bottom line is if you serve the public pay attention to details the meal wasn't cheap and I expect like everyone else quality food, if the food isn't fresh discard it your reputation is worth more than that! What an amazing barbecue experience! We saw a commercial during the football playoffs and had to try it! Great staff, clean inside and amazing food! Tons of food for each order so bargain for the buck! Pulled pork sandwich was huge and super tasty with old school crinkle fries and best collards I have in a LONG time! 1 on communication and 4 on food, I like Troy's, the food is good and portions are healthy, but I was there today and looking at their menu, which looks brand new on the wall/window. At the top is a worn paper stating that the Brisket was increased 250%, so you would think that the new increase would be on the menu board, next to the items that you are ordering. So the Rib & Brisket combo is $21.00 and was I shocked that the new price was now $32.26 non taxed, I ask what's going on. The whole crew looked at me crosseyed, that I should have done the math myself. It looked like their increase letter had been up there for at least a month. Maybe it's me, but you would think Ownership/ Management would have corrected the menu board, when they put the increase letter up, Oh I went there for pulled pork and they were out of that also. Went thru the drive-thru at BB location yesterday for dinner. Horrible, rude, mean person at the drive-thru. Order two rib dinners with beans and coleslaw and extra beans and slaw. No sauce in the bag. . NONE! No rub on the ribs. . just an oversmoked unseasoned piece of meat. Beans were so sweet they were like candy. Nothing else in them but beans and brown sugar. Coleslaw was nothing but cabbage, vinegar and sugar. Tossed $55 in the trash, literally. I saw the sign on the Turnpike that said Florida's Best BBQ. Finally got the chance to go to Troy's BBQ. Went to lunch with a friend on Sunday that had been there a couple times before. I drive by this place often just never went inside. I always down for BBQ so when he asked to have lunch it was no brainer to stop by. We arrived right at 11:30 which is around when they open. Two people were in front of us. I had decided on the pulled pork, just because I had ribs the day prior at home and I was already stuffed with that. I got the Mac and Cheese along with the cole slaw. They stuff the pulled pork in a styrofoam cup and do the same with the sides, as more of a means of measurement. Which when you think of it is pure genius. Ordered the iced tea as a drink which was actually warm and wasn't really good. Now to what matters. The pulled pork was really good and fresh. The sauces which I had original and sweet were very very good. The mac and cheese were solid but I did not like the cole slaw. You can't go wrong with coleslaw but this I just did not like. Service was okay, nothing memorable. I wanna come back again to try out the banana pudding deserts because I know they are excellent so I've had them before at another place. Bottom line, if you're in the area give this place a shot. The building on the outside could use some work but the inside was very well done. Also having napkins and hand sanitizer at the tables is always a plus! read more

It is a cafeteria style set up, where they prepare your tray for you and then you checkout to get your beverage. Everyone is professional, nice and smiling and seem appreciative for your business. The food can make you dance. Literally get up and dance it is so good. It is Barbecue with love. You feel it in every bite you eat. It isn't rushed and it's a quality to be proud of. Troys used to be good but it has gone down hill. I ordered a few weeks ago and the Mac and cheese was grainy and didn't even resemble Mac and cheese and the ribs were alright. The food is expensive so I call to speak to the manager because how could I pay so much for food for it to be disgusting and she promised me a refund and I still have yet to receive it. Customer service is horrible. The wait in the drive thru is over 30 minutes for ok food. I will pass on this spot from now on. If it could be 0 stars this would review would have it. I'm good. Well what can I say.... if you're on a diet or watching what you eat (like I am) don't come here cause the food will blow your ambitions out of the water. I stopped by here for lunch after driving in town for work. Stopped by and what can I say once again.. they ruined my diet in a great way. In all honesty I was actually pretty good. I had the chicken diner and 2 sides with tea and cornbread. The chicken was fantastic with the meat coming off the bone. Vegetable sides (green and Mac-n-cheese) was good too. The portions were good sized and it wasn't stuffed. The "demons" of the group, the sweet tea and cornbread, hit the spot. As long as the food tastes like this when I am in the area I will continue to let Troy's screw up my diet. read more

Best BBQ I've had local, ever. I mean, melt in your mouth amazing-nesssssssss. The customer service is meh, at best. They tend to close when they run out I think, there's been many times I show up during business hours and they are already closed. So the inconsistency is a bit frustrating - but honestly, the food is so good, I'll put up with it and I'll go back time and time again. For some reason, its hard to find good food in Boynton. You can't beat good barbeque and Troy's has some of the best that I have had in So Fla. My wife bought the family pack which comes with a full rack of ribs, half a chicken (she substituted brisket for the chicken) and three pint sides. She also got one half # of pulled pork. The sides she chose were baked beans, mac&cheese, and candied yams. Plenty of food for 4 or more. Everything was excellent and full of that smokey flavor. The sides were all outstanding. Found out about this place from a TV program and decided to give it a try. Apparently it's very popular as the chicken, brisket and ribs were sold out by 7:30p on a Saturday evening. We got a chance to try the pulled pork, Mac and cheese, baked beans and cole slaw. All were very good. The service was friendly and the facility was eclectic.
