So refreshing and light but will sneak up on you. We enjoyed seating on the upper level with a beautiful view of the Ferris wheel and live music stage. Walked over to the truck yard with a friend after having brunch in the area. The weather was perfect: not too hot, but the sun was out and there was a nice breeze. Truck Yard was perfect! Upon entering, we went to bar to grab a shot and a drink each. Prices are reasonable and there are plenty of options. Don't see what you like? It's a full bar, so order as you please! After ordering, we went to the main area and were able to grab a spot at one of the bigger tables. It wasn't too busy, but there were still a few groups present. It got busier as we stayed and we shared our table with others since there weren't as many open areas. There's music, a few activities, and food trucks in the yard, so it's the perfect place to grab a drink and a spot to sit before relaxing and enjoying the day. We enjoyed food from the taco truck and the cheese steak shop. Both were delicious and quickly prepared. We got nice cold beers from the brewery/bar just inside the door. Everything was pretty much walk up so not much service. Everything was clean, there were plenty of fans and lots of different areas to sit. The only downside was a large party next door with lots of music and smoke. Parking was scarce. Will definitely go again when the weather cools. read more

I visited Truck Yard on a Sunday afternoon when it was pretty hot so as you could imagine, there wasn't a ton of people outside. Parking in the area can be difficult and usually not free so keep that in mind. I entered and went toward the indoor bar, as I approached it, my eye went straight to this station for cocktails made within real coconuts and I had to get one. I waited at the table for about 5 minutes before just grabbing a coconut myself and then a really nice bartender let me know I needed to pay before he could open it. I paid, returned, opened my coconut (I wanted to do it myself), and he made the cocktail. It was just okay, but I only say that because it turns out I hate coconut water lol. I enjoyed the overall concept and display. There were two food trucks on the property which I thought was super nice but they seems to also serve food as well, with a dining area inside and several seating options outside. There was live music which I enjoyed but we left in the middle of the first set to get food elsewhere. The musician was good, but I unfortunately didn't catch his name to share. I thought Truck Yardz was well decorated and they also have a Ferris wheel which I would've tried but it was just way too hot. Don't let me three star rating deter you, it's not bad but just a reflection of the small experience I was able to have. I do recommend others visit and will return in the future. read more

As always truck yard hits hit the mark. We love going there the people are great atmosphere is great the food also great. This time we sat indoors which we hardly ever do just because the weather was so cold and we also ordered truck yards food versus the food truck. The nachos were really good there was definitely not a chip left without cheese and topping very impressed. The flavor of the cheese steaks and the toppings are also great, however I think they probably should do some thing about the bread just because there's way too much bread but we will definitely probably get it again I would just use half the bread like I did last time but that's kind of a waste. read more

This place is very interesting. It's so vibrant and live that it's almost surreal. My husband & I came here after my daughter's competition at The GRB in downtown. I wanted to come here because since the pandemic it's hard to find new good food trucks on my side of town & on their site they're known for their live music. So we tried this place. They had the playoffs playing on sooooooooo many tvs. I didn't know it would be so big yet clean! They had the live music on other side from where we were which was near the inside. We didn't go over there mainly because we had our 9 year old daughter with us & we didn't know what to expect but it was actually pretty mellow. I expected it to be like a bar/ speak easy thing the way it's tucked around corner to get in but it's the type of place you could see yourself having like an informal get together with coworkers, family, buds. It's in no way pretentious. My husband said he loved the set up of it all, even the unique sodas at the fountain. It's just the cheesesteak he ordered was dry & bland. I came to this place with some friends while we were visiting Houston for a long weekend, and we had so much fun! It has a very cool atmosphere with good drink and food options. We sat at a table outside near the ferris wheel and the stage where there was an artist on stage singing and playing guitar. He was very talented, and he picked out some great songs to sing. Everyone who rode the ferris wheel said it was so fun. Even though it is small, you have a really nice view of the city from the top of it. Tickets are $10 and it includes a drink (I think you can get a kids ticket for $5 if you don't want the drink). We ordered food from a food truck called Boombox tacos. I had 3 chicken street tacos and they were amazing. Our food was ready in about 15 minutes. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and I would definitely recommend it to someone staying in Houston! read more

SHE didn't not let me even say a word. She came up here and was really rude saying she is not responsible and we need to email some company. I really didn't care about the $5. All I wanted it for them to close the machine since it's not working so I can save other people for unpleasant experience. We visited truck yard with some friends from Texas who told us it was one of the best places to visit. One of the areas that caught my eye was the Ferris wheel. We went up to the bar to see if we could go on it and the bartenders mentioned the guy went home for the day due to it being slow. My friend mentioned I was from out of town and they said they would call the Ferris wheel operator. Now if they actually called I'm not sure. The bartender then proceeded to make comments about where I was from. It was so uncalled for and took me by surprise. We spoke to the manager about what happened and he listened and understood our concerns. We appreciate his management style and ability to listen to what had happened. All this being said I just wanted to bring awareness to what had happened. I also wanted to mention Denise Hernandez was the best part of our experience at truck yard. She made us feel like home and welcomed. If it wasn't for her, my husband and I would have left. I was staying in downtown Houston then I saw this place. It is close to Georgetown center, close to Toyota Center and Minute Maid park. Foodtrucks are available every night, but they have a main bar if you want to order. When we got there, it was not as busy but everybody was glued to the TVs as it was game night (yes, you can watch your favorite sports game here too). Not by the food but by how absolutely stunning the tables and chairs were, my wife is a Cleaner and never in my life have i came across something as life changing as theses tables and chairs cleanliness. You could tell looking at them that they appeared almost brand new in cleanliness and yet still 47 years old at the same time, outstanding.. With this a issue arrived upon us, my Mexican wife Conswela made us DirtyBoys promise to never foul something that is clean and since we were quite Dirty at the time we spoke to the manage with our troubles. Mr, manager after refusing to let us sit in the kitchen with him to enjoy our meal gave us no other options, Pete Davidson ex member of the dirtyboys took it upon himself to go to walmart while we held his food and bring back a slip-n-slide for us to enjoy like giggling school girls once again. I've been to Truck Yard a ton of times and have always had a great time. I love outdoor drinking, and this is a great space to do it. Parking in the area is variable, depending on the time and day. On weekdays, or early on a weekend, there is definitely a lot of space to park, but it can definitely be tough at the popular hours. The outdoor space is great. It's pretty expansive, with a lot of seating. There are multiple food trucks that are usually parked out there, and there's also a ferris wheel with bright lights at the back of the outdoor area. At peak hours, they have a live band playing on a stage in the back near the ferris wheel. There are a few bars in the spot -- one inside, and one outside. Lines move at a decent pace, but is typically faster inside. I really like Truck Yard -- would recommend if you're in the area and looking for a casual vibe! read more

One of the coolest bars I've been to in awhile. Easy, fast car service. Although my gin & tonic was a little small... but not a terrible price. They had food trucks there and also a spot to get BBQ, but we didn't eat. Live music, the plentiful seating, cool photo opp spots, and plenty of activities to keep you having fun. There was even a karaoke room you could rent out! Little bummed that the photobooth wasn't working (came here just for this...) Definitely a place to try. One of the first bars I went to after I turned 21 and this did not disappoint, in fact, it raised the bar and set the standard for me! I loved loved loved the ambiance of the indoor and outdoor dynamics. I went on a saturday night after a concert so it was pretty packed but we were still able to find a table. The bartender was super helpful explaining any drinks I inquired about. The lemonade did not taste like it had any alcohol in it but boy did it sure hit me hard later on in the night! Beers (many local) and drinks galore, and the place itself is huge. It was dead when we went during an off hour during the week but I can't imagine getting claustrophobic in this place ever. They have an upstairs level and the decor is off the wall (literally). Lots of truck, travel and highway memorabilia specific to Texas. Empty containers fitted with stools and places to hang out, gutted trucks as booths, a picture booth and even a karaoke room (I didn't go into either so can't speak for how they are). The Truck Yard has a cool, country chic, grungy patio, sporty vibe! There is plenty of patio and yard space for your furry friend here, too! You will have free reign of the food trucks, inside bar, and cheesesteak station. I went during the week at lunch time and it wasn't crowded, but I can imagine this place being full on a game day or weekend. It has plenty of space for your group to have its own place to hangout and there is ample seating and bar space. There are three types of cheesesteaks to choose from and they vary in price by size/amounts of meat toppings. Each sandwich is about 7 inches, come with a choose of Vickie's chips, and have a sweet set of "IceT" or fresh cane sugar type soft drinks. The cheesesteak was perfectly unique to Texas, not a Philly style, but still had such a tasty grilled flavor with the toppings, cheeses, and meat selection so well prepared! The staff was nice and pleasant asking if I needed anything as I walked around inside (no dogs allowed inside the bar area btw) and would definitely come back again. This place is huge! There's so much outdoor space that it makes the perfect Sunday funday on a nice day, which is exactly what it was when my husband and our friends came here. When we first walked in there was a taco food tent and then we kept walking and it opens to the large outdoor space with a bar, "truck tables" and regular tables, food trucks, upstairs seating deck and an inside bar and cheesesteak place. They also have some TVs to catch the game. Oh and I can't forget to mention the Ferris wheel, which you can actually take a ride on according to their menu!!
