True food is always one of my favorite spots! I always order the edamame dumplings they're a must. The broth is absolutely to die for, and the fresh cilantro brightens everything up perfectly. I paired my meal with one of their cold pressed juices, which was the perfect refreshing addition. I usually order something different, but today I decided to try the panang curry, and I'm so glad I did. It's a delicious vegetable curry with root vegetables and snap peas, and the flavors are perfectly balanced. I especially loved the black sprouted rice liked on top, which mixed beautifully into the curry and added a wonderful texture. We start off with an Indigo cocktail, Empress 1908 Indigo Gin and elderflower rose gin with lime. A very nice cocktail but could use extra shot of gin! An appetizer of Tuna lettuce wrap was served with Bibb lettuce, rice, pineapple relish, fresh tuna and hot spicy sauce. It was tasty and amazing. The hot spicy sauce or oil added an extra kick to the wrap! We ordered air-fried Chicken Parm with spaghetti squash and grilled tenderloin. The organic DiNapoli tomato sauce is slightly on tart side. Caramelized onion was used in the spaghetti squash to give a nice flavor! The grass-fed tenderloin was grilled to perfect temperature of medium rare. The honey roasted carrot, trumpet mushrooms, onions and peppercorn sauce were extreme nice compliment to the protein. The only complaint is I only found one slice of trumpet mushroom. The True Story was a very tasty, citrus-like cocktail, full of buoyance. The chips and dip were solid, even if the chips were a bit too crunchy, but the edamame guacamole dip was tasty. The fingerling potatoes were very good and enjoyable, while the pepperoni pizza with gluten-free crust was good, especially when combined with the hatch chili ranch sauce, which created a synergy for excellence. For a franchise restaurant, it was a good experience, and it has been consistent with other locations I have frequented. Awful. I'm so sad I have been to True Food in several locations (different states) and it has never disappointed. Food was mid, but no staff...place was near empty and we still waited just for the water. When we were seated the table had puddles of water so we asked for a napkin or towel to clean it up and the hostess froze. No idea what to do. I'm worried for the future. She left and came back 6 minutes later with some paper towels, like you dry your hands with in the bathroom. Then one at a time she dabbed the whole table. Then we waited. And waited and waited. When a waiter did come we just ordered. 36 minutes for food. They asked if we needed anything else! Forks? Napkins? Ohhhh. 6 more minutes. Food now cold. Also the AC was dripping on us and the booth next to us. I let the manager know on the way out, he didn't really care. I get it, overworked and understaffed. BUT at least pretend to care. I really enjoy True Food. Went to the Naples location last night. I haven't been in a while and it looks like they've updated the menu, but some of my favorites are still there. We started with the guacamole and chip. Guacamole was good but the chips -- though bonus points for homemade -- were jarringly hard (subtract bonus points). I would pass on this appetizer. I had the Ancient Grains Bowl and hubs had the OG Burger. My bowl was good but a smidge less delightfully plated as I remembered. No matter: there was not a single quinoa remaining by the time I was finished. Hubs enjoyed his burger ("very good") and umami potatoes were good. I had a grapefruit spritz and hubs had a beer. Ordered "To Go" order and nothing worse than driving to get dinner to discover they forgot to include "The Soup" once you get home. Calling was automated voice so more anguish to finally get a person to appeal to. They did offer to refund but I said I wanted the soup, so they said return and I had to ask if I would get some restitution for another trip which they did offer to refund the soup. O receipt of this so I will have to wait for the next credit card statement to discover if they honored the refund. Nothing worse than driving to get dinner to find the restaurant didn't check the order "TO GO". Been here multiple times. Great atmosphere in the restaurant very clean and healthy style. They change some items on the menu every 90 days. I've had the ancient grains bowl and add steak which is usually always good sometimes to spicy for some people depends on the chef that day. The other food I got was the breakfast steak burrito which was ok but bland floor wise. Additionally I got the meat loaf which was also bland and mellow. If you got here the best bang for buck and taste is one of the bowls and add meat. The quinoa bowl is also a good choice that I've had in the past. We went to True Food on Friday evening, we had reservations for two. They tried seating us at one of the long benches where you hear your neighbors conversation and there were many tables for four. I asked about one of the table for four and I was told "they are all reserved". I said we will wait, they took us to another section of the dining room to a table for four. We watched the entire dining room and there is a reason they don't have many guests! That in itself was untrue as we watched the tables for four go unseated all evening. She was being "prompted by the manager". My husband had chicken fingers and fries and they were hardly able to be eaten. They had been "Air Fried" and the manager said "we are still working on it food in the Air Frier". This makes the ambiance very secure and welcoming for the people who come here. Some notes on the food and drink. Perhaps the worst iced tea I ever drank. And the sweetener is something that comes from trees. So, I had black tea that tasted like bubble gum. I found the panini to be very good. Since my son was visiting from Chicago and is a vegetarian this place hit a home run with, he and his wife. In fact, they came back and dined here again while we watched the grandkids. We have been faithful True Food Kitchen patrons in both the Naples, FL and Oak Brook, IL locations for many years and I struggle to write this review. We went to True Food Kitchen in Naples last Wednesday evening as we had our family in town and wanted a healthier option before Thanksgiving. We arrived on time for our reservation as a party of 8, and your Waterside location was virtually empty, but it was clear that the staff was busy filling "to go" and delivery meal orders. The focus seemed to be on filling the DoorDash orders and not on the patrons sitting in your restaurant. Our server was very pleasant, but he told us that he had only been there for 2 weeks and did not have a great command of the menu. That is the positive part of my review. The food was absolutely terrible. Most of the meals (after waiting 40+ minutes) came cold for at least some of the items and not all of the items came at once. Several meals were delayed by as much as 10 minutes. The mashed potato's were all cold and the steaks that some of us ordered were only partially warmed. My steak tips (included as added protein in the noodle bowl) was so tough that I could not eat it. One steak dinner that was advertised as a NY strip, came out as a filet. The waiter was confused as to why we wanted the NY Strip that was ordered. It took 20+ minutes for the server to return with the correct steak, but without the sides that it allegedly came with. The rest of us were finished with our meals when the last meal arrived. In addition, several items had very different descriptions on the menu than was was actually served. As an example, the item was described as including mushrooms and carrots, neither of which was included. Our server was nice enough to bring those later on in the meal. The only meal that was edible was the cheese pizza that we ordered for our 3 year old grandson. Our server knew that we were upset and was nice enough to ask us if we wanted some free deserts, but we had had enough. Too late to salvage the meal. Last year we had to make a complaint because we sat next to a couple with two large dogs that were sitting on their bare rear ends on the bench seats next to their owners. Talk about unsanitary. In summary, your restaurant has gone way down hill and our latest experience has made us conclude that we will never return to True Food Kitchen in Naples, FL. Shame on you. Had dinner here last night and enjoyed our meal! Service was good (a bit slow at first but then was great rest of the meal) and would probably return if in the area. The food is healthy and fresh, and allows me to select from a wide range of options with my dietary restrictions. We all started off with the corn soup (not pictured). It was spicy, but a bit disappointing. I went into it picturing more of a corn chowder but it was definitely more of a watery soup consistency. This is probably the one thing I wouldn't order again. One person at my table got the charred cauliflower and enjoyed it. Another got the lasagna bolognese (not pictured) - he said it was a unique, unexpected flavor to the sauce but the pasta was good and he would order again! I got the Spinach and Mushroom pizza (w/ GF crust - $2.50 extra) which was excellent. The vegan almond-based ricotta on it was so fluffy and flavorful. It comes with little chili flakes on top but it's not overly spicy. The pizza was big enough to take leftovers for lunch the next day, which is rare with a gluten free crust. Finished it off with cookies and ice cream - which are both vegan and gluten free. Cookies were still warm (chocolate chips were melting) and the ice cream actually tasted like vanilla!
