I had dinner here for the first time with a friend who recommended it as a place to get a delicious healthy meal. Well, she wasnt wrong. We ordered the cashew pad thai and the squash casserole. Both dishes were delicious. I would absolutely order both dishes again, especially the pad Thai. My only complaint is that the portions are pretty small for the price. There weren't really any carbs in the casserole dish (mostly squash and tomatoes), so would it have killed them to include a slice of bread? In fact, they don't offer any kind of complimentary bread or anything when you first sit down. I'm all for healthy eating, but it's the little touches that make me return to a restaurant. read more

I chose this restaurant because it has a reasonable number of vegan options, and it was within easy walking distance from the hotel where I was staying. I chose the teriyaki quinoa bowl for dinner and a vegan "flan" with berries for dessert. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! And I felt like I was eating real food, and getting real nutrition. The price is a little more than what I normally pay, but the quality of the food made it acceptable. The only thing that would make this restaurant better in my eyes is if it was 100% vegan. The Biltmore Mall True Foods usually has plenty of parking available. The food is awesome--particularly their seasonable vegetables, although it can be a tad salty. I would ask them to lightly salt if that's an option. Otherwise, everything is charred just right and the taste is wonderful. There are other favorite dishes like the grain bowls. True Foods does not have happy hour pricing, so that's another consideration but their Malbec was quite good. The service can be a tad slower given the freshness of the food and it's a very busy place. My servers have always been friendly and attentive. Indeed I would say their personalities are a primary cause for their four star rating--because they've been mostly fives. read more

Showed up at this restaurant for a early dinner reservation. Table for four people.. The restaurant was empty. The hostess immediately tries to seat us at the worse location in the whole restaurant. Should have known When we were seated at a better table and we had ordered our dinner I had asked for one of the Poke Bowls. Making sure to tell the waiter NO MISO or Salt on the dish (Sweet Potatoes especially) Can't have soy and on a low salt diet.. The dinner comes out super Slow service.. and as I am starting to eat it--realize that it is salty/spicy and the Miso Glaze is on the dish.. When I tell the waiter he says--Oh I forgot to put that in the notes to the kitchen. So I waited for my dish, while the others ate. It came out correctly BUT nothing was done at all--we were on our way to the baseball game.. so I had to rush to finish my meal (we however missed the start) because of the mishap (we showed up at 5 pm and the game started at 7 pm) ridiculous Will not go back again and if you have food allergies.. We had a group and we booked the clear glass private room in the back to celebrate a graduation lunch. We ended up with a few extra people and they were totally flexible and accommodating. We had had support from management and a good server. Everyone liked their food and there was something different for everyone. Very clean food! Fun atmosphere. We sat outside but if you are inside you can see the whole kitchen! Which I find to be pleasantly comforting. Our table ordered the kale salad, delicious, fresh, great portion size! We also had the dumplings with creamy edamame inside. Heavenly! We ordered the carrots cooked to perfection! I also tried their chipotle Bloody Mary... it's intense but midway through my drink I was sold! Finally we ordered the chocolate vegan cake with coconut ice cream cake. It was out of this world! I recently dined here as I was curious how the food and service would be since my last visit in early March (pre-Covid). I must say I was not disappointed at all! I ordered the spinach and mushroom pizza and it was delicious- the dough definitely tasted freshly made. We dined inside to stay cool, but the servers were waiting on customers both inside and outside in the high temperatures and in masks - poor things! Our server, Stephanie, was very knowledgable of the menu and food preparation, I had some dietary concerns but she put my mind at ease right away. I can tell she enjoys her job and was smiling (even under her mask)! For lunch, I had the kale salad with salmon. The salmon was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. My wife had the quinoa salad. I really love this place. I was looking to take my mom out for her birthday and wanted to dine at a restaurant that gave us that going out for a fancy dinner feel, while still being healthy. My parents were slightly skeptical (it was a drive for us) but once we arrived they were pleased with every plate we ordered. My dad had the poke bowl and he was in heaven! It made me happy to see my parents enjoy such a good meal that was HEALTHY. The roasted veggies to start were also phenomenal. I don't live in AZ though and I was looking forward to being reunited with the edamame dumplings and they were out which really made me sad! The menu is filled with gluten-free options--real gluten free options, not just meat, veggies and potatoes--but foods like red quinoa and brown rice pasta! This is a major for people on a gluten-free diet because there aren't many restaurants that serve these sorts of foods! During my visit to True Kitchen, I ordered the Ginger Nojito drink, the Wild Halibut with fava beans and red quinoa and the orange sorbet for dessert and it was very good and I was impressed! I think that Sam Fox and Dr. Weil, definitely hit a home run for people with restrictive diets such as gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, as well as low sodium and low glycemic index foods. Now, some folks who do not have health challenges that prohibits them to eat restrictive diets may not appreciate a restaurant like this one. However, I have been to several restaurants where I leave frustrated and disappointed, because they could not accommodate my diet or offer an alternative, so when I found this restaurant I was elated! Even though I don't do dairy, soy, or alcohol, I still think based on the number of gluten free items and customer service, I gave it a high rating. Despite the 5 stars, as always, there's room for improvement such as adding rice milk based menu items to the list. read more

The presentation of my street tacos was very nice. They tasted very good and the request for the beef to be cooked medium was accomplished. However, I had a large chunk of an avacado pit left in one of my tacos which I bit down on. It was super hard, and could have been an issue if I swallowed it. We brought it to the waitresses attention and she spoke with her manager. They confirmed that it was part of the avacado pit, but they didn't say anything past that. I was dissappointed they did not at least discount the price of the tacos. Other than that, we enjoyed our food and the atmosphere was kind of cool. read more

I love this place!!!! I visited for the very first time this past week and the food is outstanding. I ordered the Bison Burger and my friend had the Lasagna. Both were incredible and worth going back for. We were seated promptly and the service was excellent. The waiter was also very knowledgeable about the dishes and made excellent recommendations for us. Total for the burger, lasagna, a mixed drink, beer and Sake was $55. As I looked closer I realized that the kale had maggots. Let's just say we will not be returning to this restaurant ever again. I'm pretty sure this was not a one off incident either (at that location). I also found out that they store their produce in the same area as their trash. I let upper management know what I found and I also shared with them that other businesses at the Biltmore were aware that they keep wares and produce in the hallway area with trash.
