When you first walk into the restaurant, you are greeted by Hope herself. Its not common to find the owner of the restaurant working, but this truly is a local gem. The menu is extensive, as you can see from my many pictures. We went for breakfast and our server just happened to be Hope's son . He was outgoing and friendly , asking about our trip. The complementary alkaline water was a pleasant surprise. My hercules omelette was delicious, fresh ingredients and extremely flavorful. I asked for hot sauce and was given Hopes home made sause that was superb. We also had the biscuits sandwiches and the biscuits were soft and buttery, homemade all the way. Been here several times now, and have brought friends and family too. Everyone loves Hope's. I have seen some other reviewers complain that the food is "basic" here... I don't know what they were looking for, but they completely missed that everything here is done to perfection. Most times, I can't help but get the Country fried steak, though I would really like to try more of the menu. From my friends' and family's comments, I can recommend the traditional Benedict, the Salmon Benedict, the crepes sampler, the breakfast burger. and the steak and eggs. Basic..? This was our first time here and we enjoyed it. One of us had breakfast and the other had lunch. For breakfast, we had a sausage omelette that came with smoky grits and a biscuit. We also ordered an A1 melt that came with french fries. The melt came with sautéed onions and bacon. Surprisingly the lunch order also came with a cup of soup. Today's soup of the day was cream of Reuben soup. There were small chunks of corn beef, and a good Reuben flavor. While everything on the lunch order was wonderful, the omelette did leave something to be desired. There was very little meat on it. The star of the breakfast order was the biscuit. It was absolutely wonderful. From the time we entered everyone was cheerful and attentive. We recommend stopping by for a meal. read more

A very well deserved five star review of Hope: indeed giving me "hope" for the brunch scene in midtown. I discovered this place in my favorite app.. and have had two wonderful experiences thus far. It's almost the perfect breakfast place for all the small reasons, the ice in the drinks, the perfect tasting soda, fresh squeezed oj, the jam packets! It's all nostalgic and really perfect. The staff keep it moving; it's been crowded both times and I've felt well taken care of. It's busy, it's active and its delicious. The chicken fried steak was awesome today! I wanted to really like this place because I see it all the time on tik tok and it has great reviews. The staff here is amazing and they do have good amount of parking. The food is just ok. To be honest it is very typical diner style food and lacking flavor. There are other brunch places that offer similar items with better quality items. The coffee was very acidic and not my favorite. My husband said the burger was lacking flavor, no seasoning on the meat. the pancakes were dry and were not that good. The syrup was also very running and did not really help the pancakes. We stopped in on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Plenty of parking around back and we didn't have to wait long for a table. The hostess was very friendly and brought us water right away. It was Japanese alkaline water and tasted great. I had the 4x2 which is two pancakes, two eggs, two bacon strips and two sausage patties. I substituted the regular pancakes for s'mores pancakes. Everything was delicious. My girl had the cinnamon swirl pancakes combo with eggs and bacon. I tried one and it was delicious as well. The coffee was good and the atmosphere around us was busting but pleasant. We were surprised by how reasonable to prices were for everything, and we were out for under $50. Being from Vegas that's almost unheard of for a brunch spot so this was a nice surprise and added to a great experience. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area. read more

BFF ordered the country fried steak and eggs (over easy), hash browns, and a pancake for 17 bucks plus a bloody Mary for 11 bucks. As a former New Yorker I know two things when it comes to dining out. First, always support the mom and pop places and second those hole in the wall undiscovered places that you taste the love are the best. This place brought back those diner memories. As soon as we walked in we were kindly greeted and seated, and the beautiful young ladies asked if it was our first time and of course it was she brought out Alkaline water which is very good for you! For drinks I got an iced coffee with vanilla and my husband got a hot coffee, they serve organic coffee. For meals I got the tofu scramble I think it was called and my husband got two eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast. They have a bunch of things labeled as vegan/vegetarian on their menu, but unfortunately they cook everything in beef tallow now, making it not vegan/vegetarian. I was in the mood for potatoes so I was a lil sad to hear that. I just got double fruit as my side. Also got a pancake with banana on top (my son's favorite fruit!). Food was ready impressively fast! Unfortunately for me, it was not great. I am a huge fan of tofu in all shapes and forms, but this was watery bland cubes that not even their in house made hot sauce could fully fix. It wasn't bad but definitely wasn't good. Pancake was yummy aside from a piece or two of inedible looking banana on top. Fruit was good, my son and I enjoyed it! My husband's only complaint was that the toast somehow tasted strange to him. But he liked the rest of it. The coffee was fine, mine was a little watery but it was still totally drinkable.
