When I like to "treat" myself, I head over to true North. The staff and owner are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast sandwiches and quiches are amazing! My favorite is the special on the everything bagel. So much flavor! The mini donut muffins are awesome as well. There are so many flavor options for the coffees that I always have a hard time choosing one. Prices are slightly higher than your DD's coffee but they offer a reward program and you get a free coffee on your 10th visit. read more

The Sweet Heat sandwich was pretty good, so I am giving 3 stars. I ordered the Celtic Grogg black and it smelled amazing, but was extremely bitter and had no hint of any flavor that I could smell. Not sure I would go back. Dunkins cold brew taste better black than this. I'll sacrifice the sandwich and save money. read more

Pros: - friendly staff - they seem to have a lot of regulars - it seemed like everyone who walked in the door knew everybody else! - cozy atmosphere (they even had books, magazines, kids toys, etc along one wall for people to use while they sit) - free wifi - solid coffee and espresso drinks (I personally had a latte that was good - not spectacular, but definitely good - reasonable prices Cons: - donut muffin holes were okay, probably wouldn't order again - staff started chatting loudly about annoying customers that they've encountered recently - they weren't being too mean-spirited, but it felt unprofessional and kind of awkward I've heard they're really known for their flavored iced coffees, so I'll definitely come back to try one when the weather warms up a little! read more

Gluten free options Dairy free options (almond milk) Healthy options (i get these seeded square things for breakfast. Not exactly sure what they are other than filling, delicious and healthy). My kids love the chocolate chip cookies. They are so big I make them split one. Another morning in Boston and I was driving around to explore the area. This place seemed like it was liked by the locals. I walked in and it was very busy. Just had a large coffee, might of been a Nitro, but it was very good and very strong. Nice atmosphere and clean. Good service, as everyone was very friendly. A very good start for True North, a new coffee place located right in the middle of Burlington. Have started coming in here since hearing about it from a couple of my co-workers who've been impressed with its strong lineup of coffees and baked goods. The place is located in a small strip mall just a bit down the hill from the Town Hall and Fire Station, features plenty of parking, and offers a pleasant relaxed vibe inside. They've got a very good selection of different coffee drinks and right off the bat, I can truthfully say the cappuccino is one of the best I've had in years, hands down. Baked goods are of better quality and priced on a par with what one gets at larger franchise locations. Of special note are the luscious lemon squares that are becoming a personal favorite. Staff behind the counter is especially impressive - fast, friendly, even when things are getting busy and attentive to details. Although the place is located a bit away from some of the larger industrial parks, office buildings and shopping areas of Burlington it's more than worth the drive. I intend to be back often and if you're in the neighborhood you should stop in too. read more

This place is unbelievable. Truly. I'm so happy to see others agree. We've recently relocated to Burlington and we were driving around and looked over and saw the sandwich sign and decided to go in. We're so glad we did. The husband stops at Starbucks each morning for work and has had trouble finding independently owned coffee shops that brew their coffee strong enough. This place passes with flying colors, but that's just the beginning. I'm not a coffee drinker but I do have a sweet tooth and I know a good cupcake when I find one. The cupcakes here are AMAZING. And I am having a bite of one of their cinnamon rolls as we speak for the first time, and I am blown away. It looks sicky sweet with frosting and everything, but it is completely edible. None of the ooey gooey way-too-buttery sickening feeling going on like with other places. It's soft and tasty with light and fluffy icing with just a hint of cream cheese. The cinnamon flavor is really solid and the roll itself isn't too sweet, so you can actually eat it without feeling sick afterwards. I can't say enough great things, honest. They have a book swap, and games, a place to sit if you want. The atmosphere is friendly. These people really know what they're doing and I hope that this review and the others here will help promote True North to success. It's hard for small businesses to compete with chains like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. I really hope True North sticks around!! read more

Being the only non chain coffee shop in Burlington that I have found, True North is a wonderful find. The atmosphere is relaxed, the latte is quite good, the decor is warm and inviting and the music is acceptable and best of all: Free wifi! The only con so far has been a few swarms of teenagers, but I can't blame them. I'd pick True North over the mall any day. read more

I'm a pumpkin flavor lover, and they order extra through the holidays to make sure they have enough to last after the holiday lights are put away. I am always satisfied when I leave. Ok, there are a few thing you need to know about True North. First: Sausage Egg & Cheese muffin. Damn. Never had anything like it before and can't say enough how awesome it is. Speaking of muffins, I'm a sucker for Chocolate Chip muffins and hands-down True North's is the best! Finally, the coffee is good, but the specialty drinks are exceptional. The Eggnog Latte around the holidays is second-to-none, and that's really just a singular example. I've sample far too many of their specialty drinks and it doen't get better than True North! I love seeing local business succeed, and I think True North is set up to do just that. read more

I've dropped by North Star a few times, as it's the only other espresso option in the area besides Starbucks and Panera Bread. I'm not a fan, and here's why: it looked like the Espresso was being kept in a pitcher inside a freezer instead of being freshly pulled. I asked for a triple espresso, and half the espresso was poured from the pitcher, and one shot was pulled from the machine. The worker started working on another drink in the meantime, and so the shot she dropped in my latte had already turned dark and bitter. I'm going to come back a third time out of lack of options, but I'm hoping the quality will increase. read more

A gem tucked away in a strip mall, it's the place where everyone knows you, the coffee is very good, the pastries decadent, and the sandwiches are solid. Pretty good coffee shop. Staff was nice, I liked that they have flavor roasted coffee, nice way to have a flavor with no sugar. I had the cookie butter roast hot coffee , I enjoyed the flavor just not strong enough of a blend in my opinion. I also liked that they had whole coffee beans for purchase, I took a bag of the white chocolate late chip home and look forward to trying it. Wish they had any non dairy creamer out and stevia for customers to put in. Only whole milk, skim, cream and white sugar or Splenda. My daughter asked to go to a coffee shop with a friend. I chose spot because of the reviews on Yelp and I wasn't disappointed. We went mid day on a beautiful sunny afternoon. We had a good selection of beverages from iced tea, lattes, And iced coffee. They do have excellent coffee. I was excited to head in to True North coffee for a nice cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was alright, but nothing special. The iced latte was served in a 22 oz cup with with 2 oz's of espresso and 20 oz's of milk. I couldn't taste the espresso at all. Too diluted. I tried the iced coffee instead, and it too tasted watered down. Average spot. Try Dunkin's if it's closer. read more
