This time around, our Rheem water heater failed before reaching even 7 years, despite having a 12‑year warranty. Even though Quick is closed on weekends, Brandon texted me and set us up first thing Monday morning. Ben (sales) was extremely helpful, walked me through all the options, and made a genuine effort to get Rheem to honor the warranty. Unfortunately, Rheem couldn't provide a replacement and instead offered fair market compensation (still TBD). Not thrilled with Rheem, but Ben handled the situation professionally and kept me informed throughout. We ultimately went with a Bradford White, and Sammy installed it the same day. His work was excellent--professional, efficient, and spotless cleanup. The Bradford White + installation was very reasonable and very surprisingly comparable to my prior installation. Very impressed with Quick's responsiveness, professionalism, and ability to turn everything around in a single day. Highly recommend them.

We are loyal to our vendors/contractors as great workmanship is not always easy to come by. In the past Jacob, Erik, and others on the team were always professional, prompt, down to earth-- and all experts. They installed our 3 water heaters from them and a whole house filtration system. We have recommended them to our neighbors as well. Had the most uncomfortable conversation with owner Brandon who we've never interacted with in the past. Shockingly rude. I even said, "sounds like I caught you at a bad time" - yikes. A top contender for most negative and weird vibes from a sales/client interaction. This call happened after a slightly frustrating visit with Ben who admitted he only has 1 year of experience and was trying to keep up as best as he could. He was actively trying to learn on the spot. He was honest which I commend. Ben left saying he needs an actual technician present along with the owner's help to develop a more solid option and plan to move forward. Not a problem at all. It must be frustrating being an expert in your field having to speak about the same products and concepts with home owners who are relearning different/new systems on the fly. But if customer service is not your forte, stick to delegating and take hospitality courses so your loyal customers don't feel like they have to be apologetic for having questions on a $11k quote. Sadly, a "could have been better" 2/5 star experience, wish we could stick with them. Pro tip, maybe ask to exclusively interface with the seasoned members of their crew with 5+ years of experience so you avoid any negativity and can actually get the work you need done.

We had a leak from our old water heater that our downstairs neighbor alerted us to a couple of days…read moreago. After we shut off the water, I got to looking for a company that could come out ASAP and resolve the issue. I called WHO around 5 a.m. and they had an overnight messaging service person who took all my info and let me know that I would get a call after 7 a.m. Around 7 a.m. I got a call and was able to set up a same day appointment. The folks on the phone were nice enough and professional. I was thrilled that someone would be coming out soon. We were alerted via text when our technician, Francisco, was on his way and he called to let us know when he would be arriving. Around 10 a.m. he was onsite and ready to assess the issue and give us a quote. They say free estimate, but I`m sure they still charge a service fee if you don`t end up agreeing to the quote. We agreed to the quote even though we didn`t want to( I mean..who WANTS to pay for a new water heater? haha). Anyway, Francisco explained all the parts and labor involved and was very informative about what each component was for and why, which we appreciated. Estimate signed and away we go. Francisco worked quickly and efficiently. By 2 p.m. we had a new water heater and the tech was cleaning up and ready to go. The job was quicker than we thought, which was great, and even though he said to give the water about an hour to heat, we tested it before and we got nice, hot water quickly. The new unit looks so fresh and new and everything went well. We were given a 2 year labor warranty, so that is a nice assurance. All in all, a great experience. I do want to go over pricing because while every scenario is different, I like to be transparent. A lot of people will say, "This is what I was quoted for XYZ" or "I ended up paying such and such amount less than other companies". We had an old unit(about 25 years old), we live in an upstairs condo unit and our water heater is on the balcony in a closer(location of the unit is all considered when quoting). We needed a new water heater(40 gallons), obviously, some new piping(portions, not full), a drip pan, some other bits and bobs(that weren't that expensive) and you are paying for the labor and expertise of the tech). We ended up with a $3000 bill for this service. AGAIN, every situation is different, but I do like to give the Yelp community a run down of my situation and pricing so that they can make informed decisions. As mentioned above, a great experience and we are back up and running with our hot water. I will update if anything significant happens.

TIMELY- Uriel called 30 min before his arrival and then, arrived at the stated time. This is particularly helpful so I can move my bunny to another room with all of his belongings. ATTENTION TO DETAIL - I saw him place a protective cloth down on the floor before he placed the ladder and tools down. I also noticed there was a bottle of cleaner with his supplies. He cleaned the inside vents as well as the compressor on the roof. He also tied off a loose wire/when checking the air handler in the ceiling. KNOWLEDGEABLE and THROROUGH - Uriel did a complete system check and then, he sat down with me to explain what was done and why. He addressed the concerns I had about some of the prior readings in terms that I could understand and shared tips that will help ensure my system runs at its most efficient. Example: A higher MERV doesn't always mean "better" and can actually restrict the airflow. He said that for my particular system I should use a MERV10 filter and change it every 3 months. He changed my filters and then, left me with two spares to use before the fall check comes. FRIENDLY - In the course of chatting with Uriel, it came up that I might benefit from having more filtered air coming into my condo. He made a recommendation for a part that would replace the standalone room air purifier I currently use. He placed this info into the after-visit summary so I can "research it and see if it fits with my needs and finances." There was zero pressure to make a purchase on the spot. And while this next item has nothing to do with the knowledge or ability of an HVAC tech, I greatly appreciate that he did NOT smell like cigarette / e-cigarette smoke or strong cologne as I have a bunny and people in my family have asthma. I've seen them around our community and I love supporting my local businesses. I called on a Sunday and Eric answered - first big surprise, was expecting to get voicemail. I explained to him the problem of knocking in my pipes and he said it could be a number of things, said he could come out later in the week. Then he began telling me what the problem could be and asked that I check something under the sink. I did, he told me what to do and bam, the months-old problem was gone. He saved me the grief of hearing this massive knocking every time we turned on the hot water, and saved me hundreds of dollars. To be clear, he didn't need to do that. He could've have hung up the phone, come out on Thursday, turned the valve several times, and handed me an invoice for a couple hundred dollars. But he didn't, he did the kind, neighborly, and professional thing of taking care of the problem on the spot even thought it meant no revenue for him. Good business is a long-game. Do the right thing and the customers, and money, follow. Eric clearly gets that. In this day and age, that's priceless. Our toilet got clogged. Nothing Do-It-Yourself Worked. And the toilet was backing up -- meaning filling back up where had to literally scoop out the crappy water into a bucket to pour out onto the street every other hour or so. Yuck. Need a professional. Called my goto-plumber guys at the locally-owned TRUE VALUE PLUMBING with Cody, Sam, Chris, etc. These guys from TRUE VALUE PLUMBING are highly trained and experienced where Cody has put his people through their plumbing education and apprenticeship to ensure his company has trustworthy professional plumbers who are confident in providing their service to fix your plumbing issues. I like these guys -- previously had really good experience with them when they worked on a toilet leak & replacement as well as replacing the water pressure regulator at our other house -- BUT ANYWAYS this time, we have this badly clogged crappy toilet at my mom's house. UGH! HELP! Called at like around 9:30am and spoke to Cody -- they were available that same day, a Sunday, between 12noon-2pm. Yay! Sam showed up at 12noon. Sam was their guy working on that Sunday. Fully prepared for anything. Sam advised me as to the possible solutions to remedy the problem. Would first try a toilet auger snake tool which would extend a spinning coiled metal snake down into toilet going like six to ten feet to break up whatever was causing the blockage down into the toilet drainage pipe. If that did not work, he would try a longer snake. And if that did not work, then would use a hydro jet to blast the drainage. But they hope they can fix things much more easily to save the customer some money. Sam advised that all sorts of yuck could accumulate down there caking up the drainage pipe to eventually block it all up. Anyways Sam goes to work using that toilet auger snake which sounded like it was drilling through all the stuck crap etc down there. Then the toilet started to look like it was going to drain but with a bunch of the broken brown crappy water floating back up. It looked like it would flush! Yeah me was watching the apparent progress as the toilet auger snake was breaking through whatever stuck crap was down there. And so the toilet was able to begin flushing. Sam ran the toilet auger snake through a few more times to get the toilet to flush faster and more clearly until it looked like it was flushing normal to me. Sam also ran that toilet auger snake through the other toilet there at my mom's house which was filling to the brim and slowly flushing down. Apparently also had some blockage to be cleared up by running the toilet auger snake tool to clear that up also. And so now have two nicely unclogged toilets that flush quickly whether you are doing your #1 or your #2. Yay! Very Happy! Sam and Cody, who stopped by later to assist, advised me to have them use their camera system -- which is like a long camera cable on a reel cart that they would snake into an outside-the-house cleanout drain opening to inspect the drainage pipes going under the house going out to the sewer. Well it looked to me like the drainage pipe, with grease and gunk accumulated down in there, should be cleaned up also. Okay let me pause and say I would understand anyone else not wanting to have this extra pricey expense. BUT I was thinking about preventing possible eventual worse clog blockage problems for my mom's old house. So yeah let's blast clear the drainage under house with the hydro jet. They advise this hydro cleaning maintenance like every few years. They had their hydro jet rig towed behind their plumbing truck for just in case they had to deal with an actual bad blockage clog further down the drain -- BUT we're just doing the hydro jet cleaning maintenance down there which is like a quarter less in cost -- meaning would be more expensive if had actual bad blockage clog further down the drainage BUT for our situation would be less expensive to do hydro jetting maintenance to clean out accumulated gunk down there. Happy to have that done. So toilets fixed and drainage cleaned. Yes pricey but these are professional plumbers looking to do the best for you. Highly recommended these guys at TRUE VALUE PLUMBING to handle clogged toilets, water pipe leaks, toilet leaks & replacement, replacing your water pressure regulator, water heater replacement, whatever your plumbing needs, etc -- as well as hydro jetting maintenance of the drainage under your house (if you want to pay more for that). I've turned to these guys twice so far for our plumbing needs -- and yes they are not cheap if you want MORE done -- but you will be paying professionals who are highly trained and experienced to give you the expert plumbing service that you need. I am sorry to say that True Value Plumbing's service was completely unsatisfactory. I was given a quote for replacing a faucet, and when the plumbers arrived, the price was significantly higher than what I had initially been told. This type of behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional. I was taken advantage of, and I feel like I was misled. I will not use this service again and would not recommend it to anyone else. The lack of transparency and integrity is unacceptable in any business, and this plumbing service failed in both aspects. Response to Cody: My review is based on an actual experience where I received a phone quote that was significantly lower than the final price. When I had a slowly draining kitchen sink, I checked Yelp reviews and decided to give True Value a call. Even though I called after hours, they returned my call right away and scheduled me for a visit the next day. Cody came out with an assistant and after thorough review of the issue, explained what was happening. Turns out a section of old cast iron piping was the cause of the problem. Cody detailed all of the options and did not go in for the hard sell. I truly appreciated that. He showed my husband and I photos to explain the situation and we felt very informed. After debating the options, we decided to go for new pipe installation. Cody and his assistant did a spectacular job and we were so pleased with the results. After discussing our options, we ultimately decided to replace the entire gas line due to corrosion, and the team was incredibly responsive and efficient throughout the process. I had true plumbing come out to fix toilet issue for my business and they were amazing! 1) they were able to send someone out under 12 hrs, which is super important when running a coffee shop with only 2 restrooms 2) They were super honest, even thought they quoted for a higher amount based on initial assessment, they ended up only charging us for the work that was needed. Saving us $300, even thought they could have easily charged us based on initial assessment. and 3) they were super respectful, and explained to us in detail everything that was done, and also fixed a few other issues for free. We had a toilet clogged after a dinner party on Saturday night (March 8, 2025) that included several kids. True Value customer service was available on a Sunday morning when the emergency struck-- water backing up from the toilet and overflowing into the bathroom and corridor beyond. Samuel from True Value was here within half an hour of our call. He was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. He snaked the mainline and the clog was fixed in about 30 minutes of his arrival. I am a Landlord and finding a good plumber is hard. I called 10 different places before finding True Value. They will give you a quote on the phone, unheard of!. Alex, was great on the phone... easy to talk to, quick to let you know he would be there soon. The quote was reasonable, for plumbing services. Quote comes to you over the phone to preauthorize. He even let me know I could avoid the credit card fee by paying by check. I felt respected and cared for... and I trust that they are going to do the job right. I year guarantee on the work also! Chris, the technician came out within an hour of my initial call. He was very friendly, and diagnosed the problem quickly and provided several options that we could take. Called for a backup in my front yard and wasn't able to get it cleared without it backing up days later. Cody came out and camera'd the line and found tons of roots! He recommended I get the section repaired and I went through with it... Glad to finally be done with all of the backups, he showed me how the line looked after the repair and it looked great. I needed a Moen Flo leak detector device installed and a temperature sensor because if I didn't my insurance, Safeco was terminating me. So Roy was the first bidder to show up. But I got a bid for $950 not including the device which I got through Yelp messaging from another company, just as an estimate. Roy showed me how he was going to run the path and that it was not a simple installation because there wasn't much room on the pipe and he had to make all these modifications. Well we got sidetracked because I had two Toyota RVs on my driveway. And Roy was asking me about the two RVs and then he told me he has a school bus that he modified to be an RV where he took his wife and two kids all the way across the country and through Canada. He showed me pictures of the 40 ft School bus on his phone, and the interior that he put in it Looked just like a regular RV interior Well he did a terrific job everything looked like new, his school bus, not my copper pipe. And it turned out I found later that Roy's company gave me the cheapest installation price if I provide the Moen flow they would install it for $350. Other companies who came after him we're incredulous about Roy's price and well, I couldn't say that they would say anything good about it because they couldn't beat the price. But Roy had his office give it to me in writing. I have not gotten to the point yet and I think rather than do the things that my insurance company wants me to I'm trying to find alternative ways to avoid it by changing status of my insurance. But I could see why this company has five solid Yelp Stars if I would need to install the Moen Flo, I would pick Open Line Plumbing and hope that Roy comes to my door.

Due to a mistake on my part, some tiles were put down that we a shade off. The team was able to flex to correct the error and my bathroom was back to working order in no time. I'd scanned Yelp to find a plumber to replace my kitchen faucet. I contacted RDZ and after a nice call said yes, though of course I felt the price was too high, but where did I go to plumber's school? Then the phone calls started, some impersonating RDZ and some trying tp take the job. At that time I felt there was some scam going on, and eventually cancelled the job. Apparently I cancelled it with one of the usurpers and not RDZ. Thanks Yelp for sharing my number with so many other plumbers, I'd estimate at least 6. So poor RDZ was on their way, on a Saturday as requested and called to confirm, and I told them I'd cancelled the job. We were all upset but I'd found a local plumber who only works weekdays. I had an unusually available friend who drove from San Diego to open the house here in Julian, CA. I believe RDZ would have done a fine job were they not overwhelmed by Yelp-driven competition, to the point that just had to shut down the process.
