I was in a little bit of a pinch because I had hired another Inspection company and when I called…read morethey said they just didn't have time. So I called Axium. They were able to get me a time within a few days. Michael Morgan was my inspector. He more than met my expectations. I got an amazingly specific report along with photos of each item. I was able to talk to him for a little bit during the inspection, but I ended up having to leave. I called the next day to get some additional information and he was happy to help. He was able to help me identify what things were a priority, and what things were just surface items. The information was concise and very helpful. They had a special going and I felt I got a really good price for all the work that they did. A solid three hours. It's also nice to have a link with a lot of photographs of my new home. It'll be a great reference in the future. He gave a lot of great pointers as well. I highly recommend this company.

Inspector also interjected personal thoughts well beyond common sense evaulations. The pickiness and the overwhelming opinions that went beyond safety and code for the age of home overtook the report which made the decision making on the property difficult for the any buyer to decifier. If you are a seller - hope you keep your buyer after this company does the inspection. Good Luck Sellers.

He also informed me of legal action he took on a prior client who wrote a negative review about him, so I am limiting this review to my opinion of Tom. A quote from the E-Mail he sent me: "Word of caution, we not back in high school anymore , got over $8 k when I sued a client who LIED on a web site, plus he had to pay my legal fees. hard part was actually guessing damages."

Homespeck inspections is the only way to go if you're in the process of buying a house. Tom Bopp…read moreis the sole proprietor of this business, and this guy knows his stuff. He's incredibly efficient, honest, and straight to the point. He truly works to get you the knowledge that you need to have before you buy a home. I have had two houses inspected by him and he prevented me from buying the first one that was falling apart. I couldn't tell and he saved me 10's of thousands, no question. The second house was a new build, and I was debating even getting an inpsection. Again, Tom saved me thousands. He pointed out things that I would have never thought of, like a brand new roof that wasn't installed correctly. I never knew that this could happen, but it does I guess. I've used other inspectors in the past and they don't hold a candle to Tom. The other people I have used have given me weak reports that make it difficult to ask the seller for concessions. With Tom's DVD reports, you can show the seller exactly what is wrong, and let them listen to Tom's affirmative description. I can't recommend this business enough. If you're buying a house, go with Homespeck for the inspection.

The inspector missed a few things that I've never had an inspector miss:…read more 1. He should have taken me to show me how to read the Radon meter, and how to make any adjustments on it. 2. He should have taken me to show me how to manage the HVAC filters and maintenance. 3. He completely missed the garage door from the kitchen to the garage. Fire code dictates that it is a self closing door, which would be the owner's responsibility to fix. It does not self-close.

He almost let me buy a home that was falling apart because in his words "your real estate agent would've killed me if I told you my opinion". And then he missed that my entire electric was not grounded and the meter was replaced without a permit. This was evident when I had an electrician come out, he was shocked that Marshall missed this because the grounding wire was clearly unattached to anything. Upon emailing Marshall and letting him know of this dangerous miss on his part, he proceeded to call out how he said the box wasn't labeled....that has nothing to do with the fact that the grounding wire in front of his face was not connected to anything. Marshall is mediocre inspector with poor customer service and poor attention to detail. Avoid him if you can. He's a "gold" verified inspector, which means nothing given the shoddiness of his work. I asked him for a reimbursement because of the extremely dangerous miss and he said it's past the 6-month refund policy....now that's terrible customer service on top of a sh**ty job.
