Yup, best soft serve on the planet. Make the trek out to Truly because you will not be disappointed. A small is absolutely HUGE and it's like, 3 bucks. You really can't beat it. Affectionately known as "TY", this place is not always the cleanest -- I admit -- but their commitment to froyo softserve is impressive and especially admirable in the Northeast! Personally, I wish that they had another location in Cambridge; however, TY definitely draws a local crowd (Wellesley College, Dana Hall, etc.) Check out their website for flavors of the day. With fro yo being the hottest trend (think Pinkberry), this old standby brings it back to what fro yo is supposed to be; something that's supposed to taste just like ice cream but a lot better for you. And Truly Yogurt delivers. It really does taste almost like ice cream, it's just as indulgent and just as luxurious as real ice cream. Truly Yogurt is my all time favorite ice cream place. Every time I go in I get the homemade soft serve and it is out of this world! There is always a new flavor of the day and I have never disliked anything I have gotten. The owner is the nicest man alive and he makes all the soft serve from his own recipe. The staff is always nice and helpful. The prices are also very affordable. A cone is only $3-$4 and even the small is a very generous portion. Anyone in or near Wellesley should definitely stop by and try the soft serve! read more

All I can say is that 2 years after leaving Wellesley, Truly's flavor of the day may or may not still be under my "bookmarks tab"... Equivalent of a fro-yo unicorn--creamy texture, theoretically good for you, and an abundance of flavors. Soft and hard alike, it's all good. Pistachio, cookies and cream, raspberry chip, and oh, swoon worthy pumpkin. And yes, the portions are huge, and yes, I am the girl who ate 2 larges in one sitting. My college days are filled with many happy memories, and I'm not ashamed to say that quite a few of those days included a trip to TY. As a self-admitted ice cream/yogurt addict, I love their soft serve yogurt. It's definitely the best I've ever had. Love love love. They always have chocolate/vanilla/twist and then cookie delight/"flavor of the day"/"flavor of the day oreo". Yes, the flavors may not be as rich and robust as ice cream, but this is yogurt people. Low-fat yogurt. So take into consideration that you're making a semi-healthy choice. That said, it is damn good. Not over-the-top sweet, just perfectly delicious. My favorites are butterscotch oreo and white chocolate. YUM. They also have that Flavor-Twist stuff where you can add a flavor with the color tint, but that's pretty generic and isn't the stand-out here. They re-modeled not long after I graduated, and the place is now much prettier inside. The kids who work there are usually friendly and generous with the portions, and the prices are still very reasonable, especially considering that you're in Wellesley. They have several choices for hard-serve ice cream and frozen yogurt too, which comes from Richardson's in Middleton. Parking can be tough, especially during peak times...I've parked illegally on a side street many times, and never got caught, but I wouldn't advocate that. I need TY in NYC. I have had bad experiences here, quite a few times. Their chocolate is almost white and hardly sweet at all. This might have been a onetime mistake, but I'm not going to take the risk again. The death by chocolate here I'm sure is bad, at least in my opinion. I've gotten it many times, hoping it will get better, but every time there is more fudge than ice cream. Some people may like this, but definitely not me. Once I got the Candy-Filled Ice Cream. (That may be the wrong name, not sure.) And guess what? There was almost no candy. read more

A few co-workers and I needed to escape the heat on Tuesday so we decided to check out Truly Yogurt. I have to say this place is a little overrated on Yelp. I ordered the black raspberry frozen yogurt, but they were out of black raspberry. How are you out of a flavor at 130 on a Tuesday afternoon?? I settled for the mint chocolate chip which was decent, but not amazing. We sat outside on a picnic table that was covered in pollen and residue from a nearby tree. Having said all that, the frozen yogurt is decent, the service is friendly and the prices are low. Truly is almost worth the drive from Boston by itself. Throw in pretty Lake Waban and the two combined are most definitley worth it. Thank you Truly Yogurt for helping me pretend I wasn't cheating on my diet...for a little while. They have an extensive and exotic list of flavors for both soft serve and hard yogurt. My finance ordered the soft serve swirl and I got a small raspberry chocolate chip hard yogurt. The soft serve was ginormous and my fiance cooed in delight. My "small" was about the biggest thing I had ever seen and when I tasted it I knew I was in trouble. It was too damn good to be "that" light. The raspberry flavor was so intense and there were about a million milk and white chocolate chips in it. Mindblowing. I knew I had to switch, while Dave's soft serve was delicious, it was left sweet and clearly better or you. He was hesitant, thinking my yogurt would have that gross, lowfat, fake taste. One bite sold him. Win-win. I will surely be by here every time I'm in Wellesley and you should too! read more

This review is for their soft serve. So creamy and smooth and tasty (it's like crack) it's hard to believe a serving is so low in sugar and fat. Their HUGE portions (probably multiple servings) make me feel like a really happy kid again. And prices are great. Love that they have a flavored soft-serve option. My favorite is the oreo. Truly Yogurt is my favorite cute little ice cream shop. I've shared so many summer evenings with friends and family here, and wouldn't choose to go anywhere else. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it always either smells like a dumpster or the waste from the neighboring Thai restaurant's kitchen. Theres a daily special(ranging from butterscotch to white chocolate mousse, but the oreo is on the soft serve menu every day.The soft serve is so creamy, it's like heaven. Portions are huge, and the cone is always fresh and crunchy - you know how most of the time you get a stale waffle cone that's lost it's crisp? After lunching at Blue Ginger on the first truly warm day of the year, my friend and I decided that our mission was to wander around town with frozen treats in hand. We were all set to head over to an ice cream shop that we'd noticed on the drive in, but all of a sudden we stumbled upon a crowd of happy-looking people enjoying ice cream cones and frozen yogurt. And to top it off, some of them were holding ice creams that were COMPLETELY covered in sprinkles. That sealed the deal. Into Truly Yogurt we went, where I ordered a kiddie-sized cookie d-lite frozen yogurt with chocolate sprinkles. (The kiddie portion was quite big - don't know what kind of kid they have in mind!) Here's a tip: if you've ordered a cone, place it into a cup; otherwise, eating it will truly be a challenge, as I discovered when globs of frozen yogurt and sprinkles started melting and dropping onto my feet. read more

Ok, so often my friends and I stop by for a frozen treat. Often whatever the "flavor of the day" is which can range from white chocolate mousse to coconut to brownie soft serve icecream. The portions are huge but beware: you will get slightly smaller portions if the owner is there. He is oldish with what looks like it could have once been red hair and a moustache. If you see him kindly (or so they think...) allow the person behind you to go first or discreetly drop your wallete letting pennies and coins spill out in front of you and let teh person behind you go ahead because "you need to pick up your accidently spilled moolah". Wait until one of the nice cheery college kids who also routinely stick their heads under the hot fugdge machine, attend to you and give you a huge portion. so back to the story... I am a devout icecream lover and the otehr day my friend told me it was yogurt and... im afraid admitting this will stain my foodie reputation forever in a pit of shame... didn't believe her. THis creamy cold delight mimiced icecream EXACTLY! Make sure to go with the softeserve. Their hard serve is mediocre and white mountain creamery down the street has better hard serve. I think my expectations were too high. After waiting in line between an entire 10 year old girls soccer team we arrived at the counter and were fairly underwhelmed compared to what we normally find at Cabots in Newton or Pizzi Farm in Waltham. The soft serve choices are minimal and you have to rely on the rotating flavor of the day. The hard pack frozen yogurt and ice cream was from Richardson's so you know it's good stuff. The prices were reasonable and the portions weren't skimpy, but we just left wanting more. read more

This place is amazing! Anywhere that has a line at 9pm is a good sign. I had been told that Truly's was the best in Wellesley and, after visiting, I have no reason to disagree. They have the lightest, creamiest, and smoothest yogurt and ice cream I have ever tasted! The flavors are unique and delicious and the prices were incredibly reasonable.
