When I eat in Chinatown, this is my go to spot. I love the brown sugar bubble tea with cheese foam. It's my go to drink. However, when we were ordering on the electronic kiosk, which signs request you to do, we apparently ended up getting a brown sugar milk instead of a brown sugar bubble tea. Upon entering the first thing you notice is how aesthetically pleasing the place is. Lots of light, bright colors, gold accents, and ample seating space. They have an extensive menu, but I went with my go to and decided on the Rose Milk Tea, with boba. Made with real milk, my tea was clean tasting and the boba had the perfect bite to it, not soggy at all! We took a seat and lounged for a bit to enjoy the space. I was so full from my lunch, I could barely finish my tea. But it was so good, so I managed to find a way. Grapefruit green tea. And bingsoo! Those are the two things I always get here. The grapefruit green tea is so refreshing! The ice on the bingsoo is so soft. The toppings are great. I love the fact that the owner is willing to adjust their offerings based on feedback from the customers. I had the opportunity to chat with him a couple of times. Inside was spacious and lots of folks were just hanging out. Very chill vibes. The mango shaved ice was solid. Creamy ice (so much better than bland unflavored ice) with a generous serving of fresh mangoes slices topped in honey, ice cream, and red bean. Not the cheapest shaved ice but the portion was large - could easily feed 2-3 people so make sure you're not too full before coming here. Would definitely come back for the shaved ice. While I can't speak for the Boba/Milk Tea here, their Mango Shaved Ice was super delicious! My friend and I finished a bowl after having dinner and it was a pretty good amount! I noticed that they use milk that is then put into this machine that makes the shaved ice. It was like snow!! Super fluffy and soft, melts easily. I thought that was interesting. I think they should put that the shaved ice is milk, for those who might be expecting actual shaved ice. There may be some customers who are lactose intolerant, and choose to skip any dairy products. It was topped with sweet red beans, slices of uber soft mango, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, like 5-6 pieces of mochi, and drizzled with mango sauce and condensed milk. I wish they added more mochi. Good thing I love sweet red bean! A warning to those who are ordering this, it took quite some time to get our dessert, around 15 minutes. I'm not sure if it's because of the special equipment or prep, but just an FYI for those who may be wondering why it's taking so long. It probably took at least 30 minutes of waiting for our chicken to come out, but our drinks were relatively quick (we finished them while waiting). When the chicken finally came (we took it to go), the sauce flavor was sweet, savory, and had some garlick-y depth to it which was super good! A little heavy on the breading to chicken ratio, but it was tasty. There was a decent amount, but $20 seemed a bit pricey plus the cost of the drinks. 2.5 stars. I ordered eggettes, zen peach oolong tea, and mango korean snowflake ice. There were three people working, two up front and one in the back. My first complaint would be that they have one menu taped in front of the cashier with a bunch of price changes, but none of the prices on the other menus were changed, so that could be confusing. My tea came out first and they called my number...even though there were only two people. I wasn't sure what number I was and took about 15 seconds to pull out my receipt to check and the guy yelled the number again impatiently. At this point I had already been waiting 10 minutes. Another 10 minutes later, they called my number again and I asked if my entire order was ready and they responded with "your entire order? yes." They proceeded just by handing me the mango ice. I asked where the eggette was and the two employees in the front looked at each other dumbfounded. The girl came up to me and said oh it will be out in one minute and then went to go help another customer. Then the guy came up to me and said oh your eggette will be out in 5 minutes. This inconsistency isn't very assuring. In other words, they forgot to put the eggette order in. Keep in mind my mango ice is now just sitting there melting, flake by flake. About 5 minutes later, the guy in the kitchen brought it out. no gloves on. touching part of the eggette. Out of the three things I ordered, the eggette was the best. It was moist easy to peel off, but it was smaller than I had anticipated. The tea was meh, tasted over steeped. The boba was meh, some were too squishy and others were under cooked. The mango ice was enjoyable but the bottom was filled with red bean, which I don't eat. I think they should have it written on the menu or they should tell you when you order it. The decor in the store is very cute. They have high tops, tables, and booth. They also have games along the side that you can play with. However, their floors are pretty dirty. Since their floors are white-ish so you can easily tell how dirty it is. I think this place could easily become better with some easy changes. read more

I liked their French toffee pudding tasted like a creme brulee crossed between an egg custard tart. I got a peach oolong tea with brown sugar jelly, which was honestly too much for me. Maybe it was because I got a smaller size but it was just too sweet and I would get 75% sugar next time. We realized this place is also is popular for their Korean shaved ice, so we got the Triple Deluxe, which had mango, strawberry, and injeolmi mochi. This place has free parking! The inside of it is cute and well decorated. Plenty of seating too. However, it's a little separated from the rest of Chinatown but not too far of a walk from other restaurants and grocery stores in the area. The boba for itself - not my cup of tea - literally. My boyfriend came here when it was newer and had a bad experience. I thought coming a few months afterward would allow me to try it once the employees became accustomed and more experienced. That wasn't the case. We got the iced peach oolong and hot oolong milk tea. The boba my boyfriend received was a red brown color that frankly looked old. The employees said it was normal?? My hot milk tea cap smelled like seaweed. I opened the cup up to see that the milk itself smelled like seaweed. I tried it. It was liquid seaweed. I asked for a new drink and the manager queued up an iced jasmine milk tea with no fuss. I waited for quite a bit and finally stood up to the pickup counter to see if my cup got lost. The manager noticed me waiting and asked the employee to make mine next. Unfortunately the drink wasn't up to par. It was underwhelming and made me feel more dehydrated then quenched. read more

I wasn't a big fan of the layout though. Or maybe it's just the way other customers were lined up? People were looking at the desserts and lined up in such a way that if you have more than a handful of customers in line, it makes for an awkward, tight-fitting situation. FOOD/DRINKS: Overall, this was only my 2nd time trying a milk foam/cheese cap drink. My first time was at Bingo Tea. Bingo Tea drinks were slightly pricier and bland. I liked that TSAôCAA has more flavor, but I did not enjoy the flavor of the caramel boba in my drink (Caramel bubble milk black tea with Oreo & milk foam $5.75). It had an artificial sugar taste to it which I really disliked. Jack mentioned that this amber boba isn't made with any artificial flavors. It's boiled with dark brown sugar to add more flavor. I might have to give it another try. Other than the boba, the drink was delicious. The strawberry green tea with Conjac boba was more flavorful than the tea at Bingo Tea. The French Toffee Pudding with Brown Sugar ($2.50) was affordable, tasty, and the perfect size. I would definitely come back and try their other drinks and desserts. SERVICE: The guy at the register was quite friendly. The only slight complaint would be that I had to ask for the punch card (10th drink is free) when I picked up my order. I wouldn't have known about it if I didn't look through Yelp pictures. Jack mentioned that I wasn't offered a card because of the promotional 1/2 off the 2nd drink offer. If you're looking for milk tea, shaved ice, or HK/SoCal vibes, TSAôCAA is the place for you. And parking. THERE IS A FREE PARKING LOT HERE, CHICAGOANS. TSAôCAA has a mix of high tops with comfy and stylish seats, seating at a long table down the center of the cafe, and booth seating with an eccentric desert backdrop. My only issue is the notably tight space between the register counter and booth seating; the spacing makes for a chaotic maneuver past the line of ordering customers to get to pick up your own order or head to the bathrooms. Oh also, beware of those cute little seat cushions; they slip and slide all over! As for drinks, I was surprised to see lighter green tapioca (boba, bubbles) but I enjoyed my Ruby Milk Tea and for my friend, her Brown Sugar Milk Tea. We also ordered Takoyaki but the wait was long and quality lacking, so I'd recommend sticking to their drinks and/or yummy looking desserts. Happy about the new Chinatown/South loop addition. I've tried a few drinks and toppings so far King Of Oolong Milk Tea - One of the better Oolong Milk Teas I've tried. I went with 50% sugar and less ice and it was just right. Caramel Bubble Milk Black Tea w Dark Brown Sugar - Milk tea with caramel drizzled around the inside of the cup. Drinks gets sweeter over time. Toppings Amber Bubble - The base tapioca that they have, no flavor in this boba the one time I tried. Conjac Boba - AKA Crystal Boba its a translucent boba that has the taste and texture of a boba / jelly. I liked it better than their Amber Bubble. Service - Cashier was very helpful on recommendations and knowledgeable of the menu. Although ... my first time here I waited 20 minutes for two drinks with less than 6 patrons in the store. Pricing - $5 - $6 per a drink. A bit more expensive than your big chain Milk Tea stores, but you can taste the quality and difference. Interior - Possibly the most aesthetic Milk Tea place in Chicago. Well lit, modern decor, foodie pics worthy. Parking - Parking lot, free parking. Another new and fantastic drink and desert place on the Clark Street area! The Chinatown area seems to be expanding that way. The interior is breath taking for Chinatown, looks like some place you would find in LA! Very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The menu is simple and has all of the essential beverages. The sugar level can be tweaked to preference, the staff are all very kind. The prices aren't too outrageous either. Ordered the King of Oolong Tea with the Milk Cap 30% sugar and the Rose Oolong with Milk Cap 70% sugar as well, both in 500mL size. Both of the teas tasted very fresh and clean. The milk cap in both were very fluffy and creamy. The combination of the tea to cap was so delicious! Both drinks weren't too sweet at all just according to our preference! Prices are comparable to any milk tea place. The owner was very kind and took time to explain the menu. They even have stamp cards! However, I am a bit disappointed in the quality of tea. It seems that they market their tea and the milk caps, but they are lacking some quality. The ratio of tea and milk is a bit off and wished there was more milk cap for the mango and blueberry. I was also not impressed with the tea. The mango and blueberry tasted artificial and I did not taste any tea at all. The caramel milk boba was like drinking milk. It was very milky and lacked tea. I tried their Double Shaved Ice (mango and strawberry) and it wasn't that great. The best thing about this was the fruits, red beans and how light and fluffy the shaved ice is. I think the mangoes were glazed because they were so shiny and velvety. Maybe even soaked in syrup beforehand? Just like the shaved ice itself, the mangoes were "melt-in-your-mouth."
