The area in the central area is non air conditioned but if you sit outside the air conditioned shops, you can catch the ac. tip: the one with the travel pillows outside has the coolest ac (checked them all out):) Bathrooms are clean and plentiful. Check ins have to pass through an agricultural inspection prior to checking in. Hand carries have an agricultural check prior to the gate you are going to. But, packaged food items are ok. Not fruits/ veggies.

I needed to go from Kahalui to Waimea and boy was this easy. Small planes, with really nice staff, from counter to pilots. Our flights were easy, quick and fun. You can no longer watch the cockpit on regular flights, but you can watch the take off and landing on these flights, so much FUN. We met our dog in Waimea and came right back to Maui. So simple. The only negative is that our schedule changed several times but nothing that really made a difference for us. I will definitely use them again in the future. So easy to get from island to island without having to go through Oahu.

I do apologize that you did not understand me, but I would like this to be known. Please listen to what the customer is saying, as I understood what you were saying, but you did not even listen to me. If your company has the ability to text when something has arrived, then I feel you should have the ability to text when something is being delayed. That is all I have to say. We have been sending boxes of flowers to Maui for a very long time now and I do realize that humans luggage comes before freight or packages on a first come first serve basis but let me say again if you can text when it arrives you also (although you told me that there is no way to do that if it is delayed heard you loud and clear) then please let your company know that as customers we need to be informed of delays. These boxes were perishables: crown flowers 6000 of them, that just sat at the airport, and our recipient on Maui was waiting for them. Again, I apologize, but you left me hanging on a phone call and did not answer me. That is unacceptable. If I had to give you a 0, I would. Many rows in the back were open and they had me sitting next to an elderly couple. I had moved to an open row and they forced me to make the older couple move together so I could sit there. They're excuse is "because the plane is balanced" Before when they had open seating they only required a certain number of people to sit in the back part of plane and didn't specify where just as long as it was in the back. Probably another ploy for corporate greed so you buy your seating.

They really should say people should not do this as it's not hygienic.

One of the Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants, Zar, immediately volunteered to go all the way back to TSA to retrieve it for me before the aircraft door closed. He absolutely didn't have to do that, but he made it a priority and went above and beyond to help. I am incredibly grateful for his kindness and willingness to help. Thank you, Zar, for turning what could have been a travel disaster into a story of outstanding customer service. You made my week!

This flight was rough…read more We were delayed two hours. Then we were given some kind of voucher because none of the tvs worked. They cut off several people from getting through security when we're checking in for our flight then everything was so delayed it didn't make sense. The days of leis and good food are over. I know they just merged with Alaska hopefully things get better? We will probably choose delta or maybe even...southwest!! Ugh Flight attendants were very nice though!

I was traveling with two small kids, already carrying multiple items, and dealing with delays from the Kona storms, so the lack of flexibility or empathy made an already stressful situation much worse. Being told she was "documenting our reservation" only added to the tension. I get it, Jennifer doesn't like mainlanders or "howleys".  It's unfortunate because the rest of the experience was solid, but that one interaction significantly brought down the overall impression of the airline and brand.

After putting some air in the tire with the portable pump in the trunk, we were able to drive to their lot and they switched out vehicles for us at no extra cost. I was able to check in online and bypass the line. Although there wasn't much of a line bc there was so much staff available to help. I was able to choose whichever car I wanted. Drop off was even easier drove up, the staff checked everything in a few minutes and we immediately got a receipt for our car. A seemless efficient and easy process. I will most definitely rent from Alamo again. They also provided a list of some great places to explore !

When I got there, the employees in the garage area were friendly and helpful, pointing me to the row of vehicles from which I could choose. At the time I was there, I had quite a few vehicles to choose from. While I had the car, I realized that the key fob lock/unlock button wasn't always functioning, though I was always able to lock and unlock the vehicle by using the door handle button. I mentioned this when I turned the vehicle in, and they credited me for a day's rental for my trouble--something I didn't even ask for. Returning the car was simple, quick, and easy. The charges came through to my credit card exactly as they should have. I would easily do business with Alamo at this airport again based on my experience.

We hike up the hill from our condo which is a good workout without being too hard. It's 2.6 miles round trip. The airport is tiny with a bathroom, baggage claim and plenty of parking. No other amenities available. Never seen more than 3 cars in the parking lot. A nice scenic stop to see the ocean and watch whales from afar.
