We were so excited for a new restaurant to open in town but I'm personally hesitant to come back…read more Everything looks so nice and clean but the smell inside had me wanting to turn right around and go somewhere else. But we were willing to just try it. We watched the staff make a dirty soda and it took two people and about 10 minutes to make one. It was a little excessive considering it's a soda, syrup and cream. We ordered our meals to go and when we got home I was heavily disappointed. Our drive home isn't even that far either and we sat down to eat right away. The big baller was soggy straight down the middle from the over abundance of sauce. It was even toasted so it should have been okay. I actually couldn't even eat it as a sandwich it was so bad. So $12 for three meatballs to eat by themselves with no bread was expensive. My husband had the Momma D and he said it was nothing special. The "beef gravy" is an au jus and he said that was better than the sandwich itself. The only redemption was quite literally the tomato basil soup. I throughly enjoyed that.

Rainy day took me to The Corner Cut for a toasted Southern Comfort sammie and tomato & basil soup…read more First and foremost, I always have questions: and this staff is so courteous, patient, & knowledgeable. Secondly, the food is packaged carefully for carry out orders. And lastly, the soup was divine, and just what I was craving, several flavor bursts, a hint of garlic?? And the pimento...real good! Onions, YES!!?? * 5/5 Due to great service, pleasant atmosphere, & quality/taste of my food selections.

When I first visited Southern Pines years ago, my mom took me here. I was a little bit skeptical,…read moreI'm not going to lie. It's right next to a gas station and the name...well...let's just say I had questions. Usually it's the places that are a hole in the wall and dives that are the best, though. Let me just say...after I ordered my sandwich and saw that it came with pickles, I was already a happy camper before I tried the sandwich. That was probably around four years ago. Then I took a bite...and it was unlike any sandwich I'd ever had before. It did get a little messy, but what's good food without it being a little messy? Honestly, I'm kind of a mess so it probably had something to do with that. Four years later - nothing had changed. I love going there to get a sandwich when I'm in the area. I just wish they were open a little later. My top three picks are the Birdie, Greek, and Real Italian. You can't go wrong with any of them. I've also tried the Wally, Sand, Pitching, Flip, Original, and New Yorker (sometimes a family member will let me try some of their sandwich...and vice versa). All great. There is just something about my top three though. I love that they are made fresh to order, that you can customize them, that they have an option for gluten free bread, and unsweetened or sweet tea (their unsweetened tea is delicious). I usually get an extra pickle when I remember. They have decent selections for sides as well. Nothing like a good sandwich from Wedgies and a cool drink in the summer! I do wish for more drink and side options...but that's me being super nit-picky. Get yourself a sandwich from Wedgies! You won't be sorry. Sometimes, calling ahead or placing an order ahead is the best way to go because it's usually very busy. Give a nice smile to all the kind people there as well. They do work hard!

Unassuming location, but the capacity quickly became overwhelmed at lunch, because clearly many…read morefolks know how good these sandwiches are. Yes, the bread is quite peculiar but it's delicious, and the stuff between the "slices" is equally good as well as plentiful. I went with the Real Italian and found it full of flavor. Now I'll need to make a few return trips and try some of the other selections.
