    Empanada Venezolana Carne y Pollo
    Bruce W.

Food was good, had the steak (bistec) because there was a limited menu and we were told the only options were those on the serving line. Had the choice of chicken, steak, white rice, morro, pinto or black beans, potato salad or regular salad. We were told they also had empanadas so I got a steak and a beef one. Empanadas were ok, not worth the money at $5 each but ok. I was looking for more honestly after reading the menu I was ready for some true Dominican food. Ambiance is still under way, as it came off as somewhat of a cafeteria style but in transition. Staff was friendly, luckily I speak a little Spanish cause they were limited on English except for one young lady who came out the back. It was good, but I expected more especially after driving cross town for it and one of my coworkers came along and hadn't had Dominican food before. He liked it more than me, because my expectations: in all a good spot, but be prepared to spend a little extra.

This is the best Dominican food in all of Indy ! You get great quality food at a great price and the owner is so awesome . I always stop by when I am in the area .

What a gem of a restaurant! I came in with my ethnic dinner club and we all loved our food and experience! I was raving about how much I love tequeños (Latin version of a fried cheese stick) and before I knew it one of the ladies brought us 4 on the house! I was blown away. How kind! We tried a variety of foods: Dominican version of an empanada Venezuelan version of an empanada Corn pancake with cheese (cachapas) Arepa (corn cake stuffed with beef or chicken) Ham and cheese stuffed bread (I can't remember the name) All of it was very tasty! My favorites were the arepa with beef and cheese --the garlic sauce on the side is amazing, the Donovan empanada and the tequeños. The menu is mostly in Spanish but the people working the register are completely bilingual and can tell you what everything is.

Let me tell you about my tasty chicken arepa with a splash of cilantro cream- the chicken was moist and flavorful and by the end I was thinking, "I can't wait to tell others about this place!" At Tu Casa Latin Food, you'll find a mix of Puerto Rican, Venezuelan, and Dominican cuisine. From mofongo to empanadas, they've got it. The front case features all of the food so you can get a peek before ordering. They offer two types of rices and two types of beans. We especially enjoyed our chicken arepa and black beans with white rice. We also ordered a beef empanada. Service was a-okay and we opted for carry out. Next time, I would also like to try the beef empanadas. The beef looked very juicy and flavorful. If you love to crawl your way around the International Marketplace for ears like we do, this spot is located just a mile north.

The arepas are soooojuicy!!! They give a lot in the soup but I forgot to take a pic when I first started it. The arepas are super full the outside is delicious!!! The chicken & rice is YUMMY!! The passion fruit juice is super good. Everyone who works there is so kind. The pollo (chicken) and the carne (beef) empanadas are super good too. I think the arepas are better though because they are bigger. They keep the dining area clean also.

We tried this little Latin restaurant on recommendations from Yelp on a Thursday. They feature Dominican and Venezuela cuisine. Ordering was confusing. The menus and signs were in Spanish which I can generally work through but I had no clue. The server did not speak English. The sign outside said lunches were $8.99 so we incorrectly assumed that the options on the cafeteria style were included. I ordered a slow cooked beef stew with a side salad and rice and beans. We also ordered water and received a bottle of Costco water. The beef was very good with a mix of spices and vegetables. The rice and beans were excellent. The salad was simple iceberg lettuce with a slice of tomato. The meal overall was good. They have about 10 tables for dine in but it looked like most people ordered carry out. We stayed in. My bill came to $14. I guess the beef was not part of the lunch special. My recommendation is to bring someone fluent in Spanish to help with ordering.

This spot is so good, a little pricey, but delicious! We have looked all over the city for some authentic Colombian food and this place is the only one that we were 100% pleased with. If you're into Latino food, or from any of the Latino countries, check it out! I promise you it will not disappoint. Portion sizes are pretty large so be sure to go on either an empty stomach or order to go so you have some for later in the week. Enjoy!

What a great little place! I happened to wonder upon this place always looking for new types of food. When asked that said it's Latin food. The person who served me was from Cuba. They have a cafeteria style where they have made things for the day and you pick what you want. I got rice, a amazing chicken, and a salad. The chicken was full off the bone. So much so that pickup up the drumstick and trying to eat it the meat just all fell off. Extremely flavor. They had two chickens, pork, and fish. I will be coming back to try the other meats as well!

DELICIOUS!! We met the chef and owner, Nulvin. What a lovely lady. She cooks everything fresh each day and rotates certain menu items. Don't miss this place! It's nestled in a tiny shopping area and highly worth a visit. We would eat here every day if we could!

A quaint little restaurant that offers a great variety of Latin food! You go up to the register to place your order. The cashier was helpful in explaining their menu items and the service was fast. La comida deliciosa esta aquí!

I'm confused is the foam plate 11.99 and the food $3?! This is dumb
    Scott S.

This place is over priced we got four plates and drinks and came out to a total of 150!! The food isn't even good they started a plate at 11.99 and then everything else you get is +3$ so in reality each plate comes out to 21 dollars not including tax. They are over charging all their costumers don't get fooled by these lady's

This is a tiny treasure hidden away in the corner of a little strip mall. I'm going to be honest, I found this place by mistake. I was parked a few spots down from there front door headed to another restaurant, but they were closed. I saw the sign and their open sign and decided to look them up on yelp. The reviews seem good and I'm pretty adventurous so I decided to go in. It is a small space with a food counter and a cash register on one end. There is a white board with the days offerings written on it. When I arrived I saw one lady in the kitchen doing dishes. Shortly later another lady came out to help me. She walked me though everything they had that day, and I got my order to go. We tried the chicken empanadas, plantains, potato salad, pork with potato, and beans and rice. The flavors were wonderful, everything was so good! I can't wait to go back. Check them out!

    Metal from shredded beef empanadas
    Kim G.

This place used to be 5 stars but now I would give it zero if possible. The empanadas are tasty but the service is lousy. If you come in for empanadas they are rarely ready and you're told may be ready in 30-45 minutes. Asked about coffee but no coffee even though they have 4 machines. So we left for coffee elsewhere. When we came back 45 minutes later we had chunky beef empanadas instead of shredded beef...the only thing shredded in our empanadas was the metal which looks like it is from a pot scrubbing sponge. The weekend before we drove from Brownsburg and they told us they didn't have any empanadas that day. This was around noon. It's too bad because we've brought family when they've visited from Venezuela and we all enjoyed it. We were driving here most weekends from Brownsburg to enjoy the empanadas and now have to find a new place to spend our money.

Fried sweet plantains are one of my favorite things (and what I miss most about living in Miami may years ago...) So this weekend I finally decided to stop there. How fun to realize that half of the bus is also tables for an actual sit-in dining experience?! What a cute, unique experience. Also I learned they are closed Sunday & Monday, but otherwise there in the week for lunch through dinner. I got there at a perfect time - I was the only person. But they shortly got several more customers as I was there. I was really just going to order fried sweet plantains, but I decided to get the "vegan arepa" with is an arepa with black brands, avocado, and the friend sweet plantains. ($11.50) I'm not vegan / I eat meat, but that combination looked appealing today and would also get me some of the sweet plaintains that I was craving. I got it to go, and it came with a little side of a nice crème sauce, and a little side of red sauce that I very quickly learned was ghost pepper! Which I don't see mention of on the menu, but I heard the other patrons in the bus talking about it. (I will say, I did save the rest of that little contianer ... gonna suffer wth it on some other food, too ...) The food was a #yum! Definitely next time going to go all-in on the sweet plantains, too. #ReviewsByRL

Between my two visits, I got the vegan arepa, Venezuelan breakfast plate, tres leches cake cup, and regular and horchata matcha lattes. The vegan arepa was very tasty. It was a little difficult to eat because the arepa was sliced so thinly that it didn't look sturdy enough to pick up, but it was too crispy to easily cut through with a fork and knife. Still delicious though. I had meant to order with the pink sauce but forgot to specify and got what I think was the guasacaca instead, but it was so good that I didn't really mind. The Venezuelan plate was the right balance of simple and flavourful. Great acai bowl. Tres leches was very sweet, but I enjoyed it, and it was a nice individual portion. The regular matcha latte was pretty good, however the horchata was so sweet that I thought it somewhat overpowered the matcha in the horchata latte. I also tried the açai bowl and fresh-squeezed OJ that my family ordered, and would also highly recommend both of those! Whether you're visiting for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, there's a ton of variety including Venezuelan, Mexican, other Latin American, and USAmerican dishes, and some vegetarian and vegan options. The atmosphere is cool with the fake plants on the ceiling, and they had fun Latin music on. The waitress we had both times was friendly and professional, and the food was reasonably quick to come out. Recommended for something different in Bloomington!
