We ordered 3 items, pumpkin curry, tofu yum salad, and spring rolls. The pumpkin curry was the best of 3. The tofu yum salad was good, except for the greens, which tasted like they were not washed well. Eeeek! The spring rolls also were stuffed with this cheap store package of greens. The woman that took our order said it was Safeway box of greens, which makes sense. Safeways in this area have the reputation for low quality produce. We will probably do another take out order at some point just to try again, but first impression was that it wasn't worthy of being put into the regular rotation. read more

Went to Tub Tim Thai Restaurant for a quick lunch. At the noon hour we were the only patrons which should have been a clue. When we left an hour later, there were two other parties of two in the restaurant. Service was fast and courteous but the food was lacking in taste and originality. Ordered the seared pork lunch plate. Instead of being grilled, the slices of pork were merely pan fried with little to no sear. The accompanying sauce was a bottled sweet chili sauce, the same that was served with the order of imperial rolls we had as an appetizer. The positive was the cold Singha beer that cost $4.50/bottle which is a bargain in Marin. The interior decor was dated with faux plants. Nothing remarkable about this establishment and will not return as there are much better Thai eateries in the area. read more

The hidden gem of Corte Madera. We entered hungry and came out happy and stuffed. The 4 items we ordered were chicken curry, basil tofu, peanut duck, and mango sticky rice. They each had a unique taste and were delicious. I requested the yellow curry medium spicy, it had a tasty kick to it. The sweet mango on sticky rice was also excellent: Mango on warm sticky rice with condensed milk... yum! Those were my 2 favorite dishes. We sat in a peaceful, cozy corner that was nicely decorated. First time here and the place was welcoming and got my party of 3 seated and served with drinks right away. I appreciated how our server refilled our drinks and checked in once the food was served to make sure everything was ok. As a vegetarian, they had many options. I ordered the pad thai. It was decent. It lacked a lot of flavor and the noodles had a sort of rubbery texture and they clumped together. The dish could use some sort of garlic or peanut sauce. I think they could also add more vegetables in the dish itself to make it more complete. The Eggplant dish and the Yellow Curry dish was well flavored. I like how it came with rice at no additional charge. The mango sweet rice dish could use more coconut sauce. Today was our first time and last time to try Tub Tim. We ordered green curry with fresh tofu and pad kee mow with chicken. Both dishes were bland and no flavors. The green curry had no green curry paste. It was just coconut milk, few slices of pumpkin, broccoli and zucchini. No soy sauce, galangal or fish sauce flavor at all. The pad kee mow was stir fried with salt, onion, red bell pepper and cabbage. Again, no flavors. This is not Thai food at all. Very tasty food. I got the vegetarian green curry. Many Thai places don't seem to make an effort for vegetarians. It's either fish sauce-laden, or if you specify vegetarian, it's bland. Wow. I just don't understand the negative reviews. People either love it or hate it, nothing in between. If you want fancy decor and extensive wine list there are plenty of pricey options. So what if the plants are plastic? I find it charming. a bottle of decent wine is $20! I have been going there for years and the food never disappoints. Honestly I'm shocked by the negative reviews of this place - I've been going here for many years and I LOVE it. I'm vegetarian so I've never tried any of the meat dishes but my dad loves the pumpkin chicken curry and my stepmom loves the salmon. I usually get either the yellow curry or the praram and both are delicious. I also love the fried tofu as an appetizer. Thai food has always been my absolute favorite cuisine and Tub Tim is a fabulous little family owned restaurant that I'm always happy to support. Made the mistake of trusting door dash reviews. Food was incredibly disappointing. Pad Krapow (basil chicken) should be light and bright with basil. It was greasy, flat and wilty. I'm totally adding Tub Tim to my take-out/food delivery speed dial! They say that the best things come in small packages. I feel that way about restaurants. Sometimes the best food comes out of the smallest kitchens. I've always passed by this hole-in-the-wall when taking my dog to get groomed next door. It's been a Corte Madera fixture for years. I've heard friends rave about the place. But I've never pulled the trigger and actually ordered a meal from here... until recently. And man oh man, this place rocks. I ordered the Kang Curry (yellow curry chicken and potatoes), and the Pad Kee Maw (spicy/tangy Thai noodles with chicken and other veggies). Of the two dishes, the Kang Curry was the undisputed champ. Very flavorful yellow curry. Creamy; fresh vegetables; soft potatoes; and lots and lots of chicken! Serve this over some steamed Jasmine Rice (an extra $2) to soak up all the juices, and it's like you've dined and gone to Heaven. The Pad Kee Maw was also good. However, it was a bit sweet for my taste. I like mine with a little more kick. But then again, that's what Sriracha is for. So all good. All in all, the whole dinner came to about $25 (not counting tax, tip, and DoorDash fee). But still, given the huge portions that they give you, this is quite a deal. I had leftovers for lunch AND dinner the next day. After my delicious meal tonight, I'm officially a member of the Tub Club! read more

Just discovered this hole in the wall place... Sure the decor isn't modern and yes this place has seen its days.. But you know what, it is clean and inviting so who really cares that the place isn't newly renovated - plus it ads a bit of vintage charm. The food was absolutely spot on. Started with the fresh rolls which were so great - fresh mint, shrimp, and veggies all enclosed in that lovely wrapper and accompanied with an amazing sweet chili and tamarin sauce. I then had the Tom Yum Soup.. which was very good - although, I have to say I have had better soups... this one was lacking just a bit on the sour, sweet, and spicy notes that are truly defined in this soup. And the pork and shrimp dish was really excellent. The proteins were cooked perfectly, the rice was infused with lovely spices, and the chili sauce was a nice component to the dish. Wow - I'm glad I was introduced to this place. Although it's small, it has a nice charm and the food tastes amazing. I think we were the only two people in the restaurant, and the nice man let us spread out our motorcycle gear on another table. We both got pad thai and the chicken skewers to split. The chicken with peanut sauce was delicious and we put it on our meals. The pad thai was amazing, but the shrimp was slightly over-cooked. Unfortunately they served the soda in warm cans and glasses, and I think they were about $2.50 each. Yikes! I would definitely come back her maybe for takeout, but it wasn't overly awesome to dine-in. We were super hot and it didn't seem like they had the air on. Literally almost next door to me. Would have been so nice to have a go to and to support my local restaurant. Really disappointing. We ordered about five dishes and not one where I could say this is really good. The coconut milk soup with shrimp was watery and hadn't the delicious depth of broth flavor, galangal, lemongrass or the hint of sweetness it should have. The fresh shrimp rolls had fresh shrimp-one halves to make two pieces which is typical-and chopped lettuce with a sliver of cucumber. Nothing else. Thai basil, mint, some mango maybe rice or cellophane noodles inside? Nothing. The peanut and sweet sauce accompanying were decent. Could not have been more bland. The Thai basil chicken had dry chicken, tinny bamboo shoots and little sauce all smashed into a plastic 1/2 pint. The typical carmel colored sauce wasn't evident at all. The yellow pumpkin curry had perfectly cooked pumpkin and again, dry chicken and little else. Sad to see what appears to be such thoughtless cooking. We haven't eaten out in soooo long and we were looking forward to this meal. There are many choices and unfortunately, although I really wanted this to be our go to, it won't be. read more
