Tuckers has the best Grilled Salmon salad! Salmon is cooked perfectly, very generous piece and the salad is so good

Sat at the bar, service was great and very pleasant bartender. Had the crab salad and was disappointed. The crab needs a better sear on it instead of a mushiness, salad tasted blah in some parts but heavy bacon grease due to bacon in others. The restaurant is very clean and light-feeling. The food was good - American fare, largely. Nice plating, generous portions, good flavors. The croissants served as house rolls were AMAZINGLY good!! I hope you get our server: Sterling. He is new and EXCELLENT! One of the things I liked best is that you can have a conversation with your table mates. We love Tucker's restaurant in Anderson South Carolina. We live across the border in north Georgia and have made the hour and 20 minute drive over there a couple times already. The service is really good the food is excellent and the prices are fantastic. I especially like the seared I he tuna that comes with wasabi mashed potatoes and a salad. My wife goes for the prime rib which in and of itself is succulent and also comes with salad and a side. We highly recommend tuckers of Anderson South Carolina to any travelers. It's only a few miles or so off I-85 but well worth the detour. read more

Wow. The wife and I stopped for lunch about 1:30. No waitress, no bartender, no receptionists, no one but a few clients. We waited for a while, but since clients were not getting service, we finally left. Is this place closed? Or just the poorest staff in Anderson County? read more

Very disappointed. Grilled chicken is drenched in Catalina dressing, which is not mentioned on the menu. Steak comes out rare, when ordered med-rare. Asked for some hollandaise on the side and there was no mention of an upcharge for the tiny amount brought. Oh and for some reason they kept putting fruit skewers on my wife's steak and to go salad, and she is allergic to strawberries. Guess we should have gone somewhere else. read more

Love this place!! We were visiting near Clemson with friends and we stumbled upon this place. My husband had ribeye steak and I had broiled shrimp and both entrees were amazing! We were shocked that the bill was only $36. Fabulous deal! Wish there was a Tuckers where we live in GA. The staff was wonderful, too. read more

I'm not even gonnna talk about the decor in the place. Staff was rude, especially kitchen staff. Food was cold and my husband ordered a steak it was mostly fat and was not cool the way he asked. The grilled chicken salad was as good as I remembered. My hubby's shrimp gumbo was not what I expected. It was either too much like spaghetti sauce or too much like chili. I couldn't make up my mind which one describes the taste the most. He said that after three bites, he liked it. There was not one thing on the brunch buffet that I didn't like. I ate from the Sunday brunch and savored every bite of the top notch, all-you-can-eat breakfast and lunch items. The food is a good price, especially since you get far more than what you pay for. The buffet featured an overwhelming variety of unique, but not showy, foods (nothing like "its an American/Italian/Mexican/Chinese Restaurant", but still offers desireble, distinct dishes, such as German roast beef.) The restaurant also has nice long business hours, great service, good ambience, and pepper grinders. I definitely recommend this restaurants as one of the best Anderson has to offer. read more

Mother's Day. Anderson, SC. Every and I mean every restaurant was packed. Except this one. Couldn't figure out why this place was empty. Walk in, get seated and the nice server explains that whatever city or county this was in had some backwards, Utah-esque liquor laws that prohibit alcohol sales. The Applebees next door, the steakhouse just up the hill, yeah, they could serve it, but Tucker's was dry for the day. How were we supposed to toast Mom for being a great mother to some alchies? ;-) The service was fine, the food...ehh...menu on par with a Ruby Tuesday or Chili's..nothing to Yelp or write home about. Hated their french fries, just awful. For a restaurant with no wait on a holiday at prime time dinner hour, it was sufficient. read more

Server, John, was generally attentive but didn't notice that none of my family of five made it even halfway through the 4 separate entrees we ordered. My teens didn't have a specific complaint other than "it just isn't good." My kids are rarely complainers. This restaurant will probably limp along on the revenue from the nearby Holiday Inn. I doubt sincerely that it will have any regular customers. I know I won't go back. read more

Came for dinner with my family. Service was friendly and attentive. Everyone else got the stuffed tilapia special and I had the rainbow trout. You get two sides or a side and salad with the dinners. Salads were good sized and fresh. I had the stuff baked potato which was delicious. My rainbow trout tasted great, but did have a couple bones and a few fins on it. Management said it was hard to get all the bones out of the smaller fish. That was my only complaint, otherwise very delicious. In my quest to find good restaurants in the upstate my friend and I were trying to decide which one to try for lunch I suggested Tucker's. She was a little hesitant, but, we went in and was greated by a lovely person with a smile and a warm welcome. The servers were great and the food was wonderful. I had the grilled chicken caesar salad and was surprised to see it came with a red sauce and a slice of pineapple on it. We did not need to ask for dressing on the side ( all are made fresh on premise) that is how it was served. The food was wonderful, the service excellent even the chef came out to help and see how everyone enjoyed the food. The have an extensive wine list, a full service bar and also have a banquet room...... There is no posted dress code so I am sure you can wear either casual or get dressed up depending on you. This is a must try. I am not sure how expensive it is in the evening, but, it is well worth a try read more

First time for my wife and, myself. We were there for dinner after a nice afternoon and, we LOVED it!! The steak was phenomenal and, the service was off the charts great! Our server was Kirsten and, she was amazing! A true professional in every sense of the word! My husband and I took his mother to lunch for Mother's Day. WHAT A MISTAKE! We all ordered the Bourbon steak. It tasted as if the Bourbon was just poured onto the steak. The steaks were tough and had no flavor. We couldn't cut into them. My husband and I had the garlic potatoes, they were both bland except for the cheese over them. My mother-in-law had the "loaded" baked potato. It wasn't a loaded baked potato. It was a plain baked potato with a few pieces of bacon and cheese over it. Worst family birthday party, worse waitress, worse spaghetti, worse "free" birthday. desert I've ever experienced. Tucker's was once a nice place. Not any more. The spaghetti sauce was watery (bad) and so spicy hot it was hard to eat. Usually a restaurant that spices up a dish that is not normally hot will warm you in some way. Not Tucker's. All we did after our "party" nonparty was talk about how terrible it all was. The food is equivalent to that of Applebee's which was across the street or Chili's. Their atmosphere was more like Olive Garden mixed with a Friday's-- we liked the nautical theme. The service was great and very friendly and helpful. We had the Tucker's "works" burger with their seasoned fries--definitely suggest that if you're looking for more of grill food. We also had the pizza florentine which was a toasted tortilla with spinach dip, cheese, jalapeño, and some tomatoes--very tasty. We had all of that and two draft beers for $20. The only negative was our fried green beans and fried pickles. I would describe them as sad. They probably would have tasted better if they were fresh or at least hot. It was a slow day it seemed and my guess is that they were made earlier that day. read more

I was in town for 3 nights on business, and I ate at Tucker's each one of those nights. The atmosphere and service are both very inviting, the portions are huge (although I can only speak for the 8oz salmon dinner, which I had every night), and the kicker was that it was right next door to the hotel I was staying at. April 19th was my anniversary and we went to Tuckers for dinner. We started with the crab cakes and it was wonderful. The seasoning was great and it was cooked to perfection. For our main dish I had Shrimp Alfredo or simular and it was not so great. There was very little sauce (the white sauce) and the noodles were ok. I didn't eat much of it as I found myself pretty full off the salad. Which was pretty good also. I took the meal home and had to doctor it up by adding alfredo sauce and seasoning to it. My husbands meal was simular. The service was pretty good. The waiter was friendly and around enough that we weren't searching for him, but we didnt have to feel ackward because he was watching us eat either. I give him 4.5 stars. The manager ( I think ) was also vbery pleasant. read more

At first I thought this may be good. I had soup- chicken pot pie it was good. But then it went Down hill, my mom sent her prime rib back as it was over cooked. Then, the waitress came back and Said there was no more available. She ordered the tilapia instead and it wasn't great either. I ordered the rib eye and it was okay. Wasn't great but wasn't bad, just okay. A lot of money for okay though. The waitress really tried, but she had too many tables. I didn't see any other waitresses in our area. She was nice and she tried! However, She took forever to get out check. I am still sitting here waiting for our check. There are a lot better restaurants for the money. Save your money on this one. A nice step away from the chains located up and down Clemson Blvd. Service is usually A+ and the food is consistent. Club sandwich and She Crab soup with a touch of sherry are my favorites, Only suggestion is if you want a quieter seat avoid the center section that is a step down. I took my wife to Sunday Brunch for Mother's Day. The staff was pleasant and very attentive. However, we should have turned and ran right after our waiter gave us the tour of the buffet room. Our first impression: chaotic serving stations, no order whatsoever. There was a long line waiting for the waffles to be made, which blocked the access to the breads and meats. That should have been a separate station or least have the breads moved so that those who didn't want waffles wouldn't have to fight through the line just to get a piece of bread or biscuit. Waiting all that time in line, we got back to our table (with cold coffee from the wait) only to find that the waffles were not very good. Actually, they sucked. Strike 1. Strike 2: Powdered eggs. Come on, are you really that cheap, or do you take people for fools that don't know the difference between real scrambled eggs and powdered eggs? That's unacceptable and shows poor taste on the owner's part. Strike 3: The rest of the food was not very good. The mac & cheese was okay, but the tilapia with micro-shrimp was sitting way too long under the Sterno. Gross. I don't even remember what else I got because I didn't eat it. The "homemade" desserts were okay looking, but I finally had it with the low-budget banana pudding. Sorry folks, but banana pudding in my book is usually cooked. Vanilla pudding with chopped up bananas (uncooked) with vanilla wafers on top is a poor excuse. Not good! Overall, this was one of the most disappointing brunches we've ever experienced. We typically steer clear of buffets, but having eaten good dinners and lunches at Tuckers we assumed the brunch would be top notch. It was not. I expect that I would have gotten a better meal eating at Ryan's Steak House. And to the owner's: we saw you there (confirmed by asking our waiter), yet you looked right through us and never smiled nor asked if everything was okay. Sure, it was very busy that day, but that should have made you even more attentive to your paying patrons. There's no excuse for mediocre food! Shame on you for that terrible meal. Will most definitely NOT be going back any time too soon. read more
