wow we have never purchased a car with less hassle these guys were great Special Shout out to Sean Johnson our service/sales/internet guy. He was so very very knowledgeable about everything Subaru. This was our first Subi and he was gentle on us. we kind of had an idea about what we wanted and the color and such and well all that kind of changed when we saw all they had to offer on the lot! Sean never forgot our names even our nickname which was not the name we put on the title. And when we went back two days later to pick it up all cleaned with a Tow Hitch attached he came right out and said HI using our names! that is great service. this guy is a diamond. Not to mention the ease Traci in Finance was. No hassle sign all these papers (fully explaining everything we signed first of cours) and wham bam we got a car from walking in the door to final signature if it was only about one hour of our day was spent! no fuss no pressure no muss shopping. I Loved it!!! Thank you Tucson Subaru for hiring such caring competent people. You may be stuck with us for life, although i suspect our new Forester will last a life time!!! read more

Honestly one of the worst decisions of my life buying a Subaru bought a 2018 Subaru WRX with an extended warranty engine failed at 50.000 miles.mind you I had this car for less than a year and put about 20k miles on it Went in to try to get it warrantied and they said they wouldn't do it because of outside influences. They wouldn't give me a solid answer and left it at that. Called SOA for more answers and they weren't willing to help either. It's sick that these companies can say "outside influences" but not give a solid answer. They also told me that I had gone 140mph 2000 miles ago so that with outside influences I guess is an acceptable answer but hey my warranty is still active some how! Anything to keep making people pay and not give back what they paid for I guess. I will never give them my business. There are a lot of people who have had the same issues for denying warranty. If it was something I had done they would have canceled my warranty but they did not. Disappointed in Subaru overall because this was one of my dream cars. They quoted me 15000 dollars for the fix which was more than half of the value of the car! read more

Worth the trip! We were looking for a Crosstrek with features & color that turned out to be available on only one vehicle in the state (!). Our local dealer had jerked us around in the past and the one who had the car has a questionable reputation, so we called Trent (from whom we'd bought a used Suby a couple of years ago) to see if he could get it for us. Not only did he do that, he gave us a great price and great value on our trade-in -- more than I know I would have gotten from my low-balling local dealer. So once again, Trent made it worth driving 200 miles from Prescott to buy a car. (A bit too far for the free oil change, though :-) ) "But wait, there's more...." When we decided to buy the car, we were pleased to learn we were entitled to a $500 "loyalty" rebate by trading in another Suby. Then when it came time to close the deal, we were dismayed to discover that the rebate might not be available after all because the dealer we'd bought it from hadn't filed the necessary paperwork with Subaru of America! Trent went to bat for us with SOA and got us the rebate -- so even after the deal he earns your business. read more

CJ was able to charge a hefty lease termination as I was moving away from Tucson. I was told there would not be a charge and I could even get money back on a lease. One star for the dirty business practice, and I will never go there again. I will get a Subaru upon my return, but I'll make the drive to Phoenix. I have had the worst experience with the certified pre owned Impreza I bought from Subaru. Since I purchased the car 3 yrs ago it has been in the shop every few months. I have been told by the dealership that I need to speak to Subaru corporate about issues not them "they only repair". The car was originally sold here, I bought it certified here and now it's all on Subaru. It has been the worst experience I have had with a company in a long time. I purchased the car for 15k and almost 30k has been put in the car. As I have seen with other reviews when I asked about value since half the car has been replaced I was told it won't show up on carfax so u don't have to worry about others seeing it. That is shady and not how I do business I would suggest never buy a Subaru. I am told it's just my car but if it's then take care of it. read more

FAIR WARNING The cars are surprisingly great if you've never owned a Subaru. We are on our third Subaru and they just seem to get better and more popular. Why the NEGATIVE REVIEW? Tucson Subaru does NOT live up to the brand reputation. Purchasing experience and service are sub par. We have purchased three vehicles from this dealership. One new Outback at the previous location; purchase and service at that site were awesome. We have purchased a used vehicle and another new Outback at the new location. Service is always ridiculously slow with appointments, delays, excuses, and often surly attitudes. Steve W. the salesman and Rocky D. owner were friendly but mediocre at resolving real problems with our new Outback and the used vehicle. On both situations I had to go elsewhere for resolution. - Our Outback had a service light problem, the service department could not repair transmission problems and finally I took the vehicle to the Gilbert location to get it fixed! - The used vehicle had a bent frame and accident that they hid and tried to not disclose. Thank goodness I had the vehicle inspected independently. BOTTOM LINE: Great cars, the demand for the vehicles has pushed this dealership to lower their standards and quality of service. Buy a Subaru but don't expect much real care from Tucson Subaru. read more

I'm reviewing the Service Department. Without a doubt, Tucson Subaru is the top rated Service Department when considering the Toyota and Chevrolet dealers. This is truly amazing for me to say since there is only one Subaru dealer in Tucson, so they have a captive market. Yet, time and time again, the Service Department far exceeds my expectations. Mind you, I have no problem being honest in my reviews. One thing that frequently comes to mind is how I feel like their only customer, even though our Outback is now eight years old. I am treated with respect. Tucson Subaru reminds me of the old Saturn dealers who sold inexpensive cars, yet treated you like you bought a Cadillac. Funny I was just about to write you guys manana. I just went to the DMV and as you know I was delirious and tired from being on a chair on the Amtrak train from LA overnight on arrival straight to your dealership. Not only did you not budge even $100 bucks for the tire rotation and oil changes I would never get seeing as how I live in LA and made me feel like a criminal paying in cash; But you said the costs over the $9990 for my car were taxes and registration.!!! You guys slipped a $479 "Document fee" in there- WTF??? I just noticed at the DMV when was showing them the paperwork. Thats bullshit and you know it!. Plus the other "fixes" the mechanics did never were an issue with the other 3 Honda Elements we had, but the radio channel and volume control on steering wheel doesn't even work. That slipping a $479 "document fee" is controversial at best and a downright sleazy lie in reality. WTF? Refund that now.!!! What full price is not enough for you guys???!!! I just saw that when I went to register at the DMV yesterday. I was told that money over the $9,990 was taxes and registration.!!! Seriously the last dealer I got one from showed me what he had in it. He never even tired that ether. You know what when I wanted another one I called him to look for another one at the auctions he goes to but none came up.!! I'm putting this on Yelp and Google reviews that is total bullshit!!! I paid upfront and cash because I was on the fence about one on craigslist original owners and nice just a shade darker and another in Alberque, NM that was $8,000 and you never know exactly how much you are gonna pay for that when you buy a car cash for auto trader or craigslist you never know the exact amount until you do the deal. and you don't bring a checkbook people laugh at that. That's why I brought cash. Even craigslist people were more up front with me about things not working and no hidden costs. Tucson Subaru is a nice place. This was my first experience purchasing a Subaru and I was very happy with the sales staff and the finance staff. Maybe one of the reason things went so well is because I knew exactly what I wanted. There were a couple of hiccups after I purchased the car, 1) because I did not finance through them I was through the whole process before they could detail the car, and 2) when I got the car there was a problem syncing my phone the car. They whisked the car back it all that needed to be done was a software update. Once the software was updated my phone synced quickly and I was on my way. Even though I was given plenty of information as to options/packages and extras I never felt pressured to purchase any of them. They were presented and we moved on. I strongly recommend against taking your Subaru here to be serviced. I have an Subaru Impreza bought in a different state. When we moved to Tucson, we brought it to the dealership here to be serviced. As part of the service a few months ago, they rotated and balanced my tires. When I picked up my car, I had to turn around and come immediately back because one of my wheels was making a horrible noise and the car was driving wrong. They took my car back into the garage and then came back a few minutes later to say that something hadn't been fastened correctly and it was all fixed. They did not elaborate or show me what had been done wrong and gave me a few car wash coupons by way of apology. Yesterday I brought my car elsewhere to have new tires put on. They discovered that the Subaru dealership had not only let me drive off with a loose tire (already unacceptable), but when they "fixed" it, they cross threaded the bolt and the tire was stuck on. They had to break and replace the bolt, which cost me far more than a free car wash. read more

I came here to look at a car I saw online, and Jakob (the salesman who greeted us immediately when we got there) was able to find it right away. I didn't feel pressure at all about buying it, and I decided pretty quickly I wanted the car I test drove. Paperwork is never fun when buying a car, but really the experience here was pretty painless. Their offices were bright and inviting and they had lots of drinks and snacks available complimentary while we waited. Everyone seemed to be working quickly and efficiently, and all of the sales people seemed friendly but not pushy. From what we were told, they're paid per unit sold not on commission, so I felt that they were happy to work within my budget without pressuring me to get something I couldn't afford (unlike some places). Everyone we talked to said they liked working here, and it really seemed to be the truth. Curt, the finance manager we worked with, did a great job explaining everything quickly but thoroughly. Overall, I had a wonderful car buying experience here, and I know next time I'm in the market for a new car, I'll definitely try to find one here! read more

However, I was worried and stressed when some issues arose with the brake system that I didn't quite understand. The manner in which Tucson Subaru addressed my concerns, clearly explained and repaired the issue in a timely manner was comforting. I was blown away by their professionalism and care. I have a Subaru, but not purchased from the Tucson Subaru. However I take my car maintenance at the dealership. That's the hole story begin. First time, I have to admit they did greet me when I arrived, and did a nicely walk around check with me, then take the car to the back. Several hours later, they told me they found few leaks, and my Rear Struts was worn out. They offered $2,000+ to fix it, I did it, because this is my first car and I want it keep runnning. They offered one year repair warranty on all the parts. Then, at that year, Tucson Subaru told me my car was keep getting leaks from every machnical parts (you name it, gasket, engine, oil pan, transmission etc.), axle problems, suspensions problems etc. I made them fixed it too. Now it is about three years, they are telling me all those leaks happened again, Control Arm Burshing was broken down in one year two months, Oil Pan leaks again in two years, Struts worn out in two year five months. I shouldn't say the gasket problem because it happened every year. And the most interesting things is they will told me as "Yes, we found some problem, however we fixed before" And now, when I asked them why all those things happened again, then answer was "Because you live in Arizona, the climate will make it happen". So that's what I'm confused, I have friends in Phoenix, they have the same subaru I have, but why that subaru does not have the all the issue I have? We are same model, same year, and he drove more than me. If the Tucson Subaru didn't know what to do then they really need to learn how to be responsible for their customer, and I am really concerned that can they preform the "quality" job insetad of the "profit" job. First, the only reason I am giving a one star is because the salesperson and finance guy were very nice. I was trying to find a specific Outback and only Tucson had it. I emailed them and the internet people were prompt and friendly. Credit to them for that. They knew I was driving down from Phoenix to pick up the car and had it ready for me. Starting off well. Deal went smoothly too, and the finance guy was quick and not pushy. I drive the car home and it broke down. That's where the story turns bad. I understand things happen, but right away I was told "if you lived closer we could help" even though they knew I drove down to pick up the car. They didn't help arrange anything and only kept telling me to make sure to rate them a 10 on the Subaru survey I would be getting. I had to call the dealer closest to my house to get a tow. Car was at the shop the next day, and they kept it for 11 days trying to figure out what was wrong. Tucson Subaru could barely give a crap. The sales manager finally called to check on things, A WEEK LATER. And what a jerk he was. The parts manager called 10 days later to check on it. They basically blamed the local dealer for not being able to fix it. They refused to take it back and refused to do anything to help, just more grief. I finally get the car back and it breaks down again. Car is now 1/2 way to the lemon law limit for days in shop and they couldn't car at all. All the Tucson people kept telling me was rate them a 10 because the sales experience is all that matters for the survey. Actually, customer service is what is rated. This dealership only cares about their reputation, nothing else. Judging by the ratings that they have been receiving, they should be more concerned about actually taking care of the customers. The dealership is new and fancy, but the absolute lack of customer service you receive after the fact isn't worth it. I will never buy a car from them ever again and would never recommend them to anyone. read more

DO NOT! Purchase a NEW or USED Car from this Dealership. They are NOT the stand up dealership that you are going to want and here's why. I purchased a used car that was extremely clean with LOW mileage (means nothing). I was SHOWN a Car Fax report on the car, I was also SHOWN a service record for the "inspection" stuff that needed to be done within reason. The battery, a cable, brakes a fuse box and a few other things ... about $1500.00 worth or work was "supposedly" done. I thought to myself WOW this is a great price and the car is clean and checks out OK ... WRONG! A few days later I noticed an oil spot on my garage floor ... humm. So I wiped it up and noticed it was VERY black. I thought to myself, that can't be the new used car I just bought because the oil should have been checked and changed if needed. So ... I decided to take the car to my mechanic that I've had for 18 years and whom I trust. They charged be $55.00 for the inspection (totally worth it) and changed my windshield wipers because they were bad and would have made visibility difficult (another thing that was wrong). I started to get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach about the vehicle. An hour later my mechanic comes over to me and says ... This is why you should always have the car you are buying inspected by a third party before you buy it! The Car needs, but not limited to: One Power steering rack, $1750.00, The oil pan needs to be replaced because they striped the bolt by putting it in wrong (something you'd expect from your corner fast change oil shop to do). The Transmission fluid was BLACK, The cabin filter had NEVER been changed and the care is over 10 years old. In fact there were a lot of things that you would expect a dealership to do that just wasn't. They essentially cleaned it up, threw a few parts in it and rolled it out to the used car lot. The estimated total for the work that should be done is almost $2800.00. I was beside myself to say the least ... I left my mechanic and drove down the road to Chapman Honda and there Carl my service rep took care of me and did another point inspection and also checked for any Recalls that might not have been done. He confirmed everything my family mechanic told me and then some. Therefore I asked him to changed the fluids, spark plugs and flushed both the brake and power steering fluids and also I asked them to do the "Green Service" on the tires which will save me money down the road on both wear and tear and gas mileage. He also made a laundry list of stuff that needed to be done and should have been done before they resold the vehicle to anyone. Today's bill: $638.82 ... Gulp! Ouch! FURTHERMORE! I purchased the "extended warranty" for the vehicle and along with the paperwork that was SUPPOSED to have been given back to me was the Service Record of the work that Tucson Subaru SUPPOSEDLY did ... the finance manager apparently took it when he was putting all my paperwork together. When I called to get a copy of the service that Tucson Subaru did, Brent in service told me that he could not because it didn't belong to me and the Dealership doesn't give out that information, NOR do they participate with Car Fax, so there would be NO record of what was done at Tucson Subaru ... that's BULL! It's no wonder people buy their cars from Phoenix and not Tucson. It's disheartening to know that you can't even trust your local Dealership anymore. Buyer Beware!!! read more

I don't know if I should give them five stars for just meeting my low expectations or one star for poor service. I am going with one star. I have had a transmission issue almost from the time I bought my 09 Forester. It will shift into neutral at 35 miles per hour and then lurch forward when I step on the gas. I complained to the service dept twice about this but they where never able to fix it. It finally got so annoying I took it back again (out of warrantee). This time they knew exactly what was the matter but wanted to make sure by starting with a $168 diagnostic. Google is full of Foresters with this issue. It has even been reported to NTSB. I should have looked sooner. What is sad is this kind of treatment is normal for car dealers no matter what their ads say. read more

My wife and I were driving and suddenly a rainbow of warning lights came on. A quick code check revealed a dreaded p0700 transmission issue. We took it into Tucson Subaru where they were able to diagnose the problem which was covered under an extended transmission warranty. Despite being busy leading up to the holiday they were able to get in, diagnose, and repair the problem within 24h! Everyone from reception to the mechanics were fantastic! Terrible service. Was in there a total 3 times for the same concern and all those times I was told it was resolved. I dealt with Jade she didn't seem to care about my general concern. On my work orders it did not say what I came in for. I came into the dealership for a LOUD clunky noise I hear in my car. I pay for a warranty at Subaru that at this point seems POINTLESS. So I came prepared. I got pre approved for a loan, called and got an appointment with Trent in the morning, and came knowing which car exactly I wanted. Everything started off great. Trent showed me the car I wanted and few others just so I have something to compare with. We took the car out for a drive, came back, and got down to finances. I had all my loan information, paystubs, references, etc. Unfortunately, the bank (Pima Federal Credit Union, who I will no longer be using) denied the loan because I have a 1099 and I am a first time buyer. These are all things PFCU knew when I got the pre approval but they waited until I went to go buy the car to deny me. So Trent got right on that and contacted every bank and credit union in their CUDL program. It did take all day but Trent kept me updated regularly and even got me lunch because I had been there so long. So many banks and unions did not want to give me a loan because of the 1099 and being a first time buyer and those that did wanted me to pay a huge monthly payment with huge interest rate, which is understandable but I went in with different expectations because of what I gotten pre approved for. Even after every bank and union denied me, the Subaru team called back one of the banks and essentially begged on my behalf to give me a decent loan. And I got it! They worked so hard for me to get this loan, most places were offering 15% interest with 300$ something monthly payments and they worked so hard to get me a 8% interest with 200$ something monthly payment. Everyone who worked there was so excited for me, it was unbelievable. The dealership was even willing to not make a profit on the sale. Once they got me the loan, I was able to sit down with Traci (who was working so hard behind the curtain to make this deal happen) and sign all the documents and drive away with my first car, secure in knowing I got the best loan I possibly could. So you can say this was the best and worst experience I've had with buying a car. Worst: Never using Pima Federal Credit Union. Best: I bought a used Prius at the Subaru dealership and will go back to Subaru and Trent to get my next car even if it isn't a Subaru. Thank you so much for all your hard work! read more

This experience has been by far the worse car dealership I've been to. Not saying the place is not clean and presentable but the staff are misleading to inconsiderate, not to mention oblivious on when to accept a wrong and own up to it. I was looking to buy a used SUV from them and after going back and forth with them on the price with 2 internet sales managers got a agreement. And to start my first inquire was is there any physical damage to the vehicle and there reply was none "clean carfax", but remember that was not the ? I gave. It was "Is there any physical damage to the vehicle" ie.. exterior That need's to be adv of since pictures tend to hide alot with the right angle, light dispersant and shade a lot can not be noticed. But was adv nope, just the obvious scratches that are seen in the pictures of the listing. So I wanted to go forward the orig sales manager gave my sale to another sales manager and I was on my way to Tucson - From SAN DIEGO, CA on 3/14 9PM When I got there finally after travel delays of over 12hrs traveling which should have took only 6 1/2 I was physically and mentally drained. I finished up the signing of the documents and then walked to my car and basically left to it as the sales manager did a about-face and swiftly made an exit, I started to have a bad felling but none the less placed my bag in the SUV and started to walk to driver side from the back side and notice a awful body repair job that looked like a bonobo monkey did it high off of paint fumes. Not to mention a gash on the driver rear toward the gas cap area "dented in" Obviously this vehicle has been in a accident maybe even more than one, more likely parking lot accident from backing in or side swiping a gas station bar but none the less was not taking this. Went back inside got the sales manager brought him outside and showed him he said " I never saw this before", hmm come on you just told me you drove it today and had it serviced for a power steering pump replacement and did not see this outrageous repair job gone wrong. No backbone on anyone here to own up and apologies. He went ahead and got the Store Manager and asked me what is going on, I explained the situation and was given a $400 discount --- not even close to reputable repair of this junk more like minimum $1600 with labor and parts/paint. The Store manager said, "We looks like we have to part ways" shook my hand and walked off, my sales man said the documents of the sale will be destroyed and my 3,000 payment towards the vehicle on my Credit Card will be reversed. After all this he just let me go in a city at 9pm, never been here have no idea how I'm going to get home. Basically Stranded not humane bone in them to be like "hey I'm sorry things didn't work out but how bout we send for a cab for you, or give you directions to a local hotel or even give me a ride to the airport or greyhound station. NOTHING just walk into the darkness and hope you don't get lost. They have no backbone to accept a mistake. Not to mention my lost Money on transportation 165$ to Get there and 240$ to get back home total $405 I just ask tell the truth don't pass the buck which everyone there from the Store Manager to the sales Manager did. I have since the experience upgraded the rating from 1 start to 2 stars, but would have left it at 1 star because it took them almost 2 weeks to refund my money due to the fact of the sales man didn't put in the request with finance. Hmm a little questionable to me though. But was completed when I called back after a week or so of it not posting to my account. The owner did call and came to a understanding of the situation and even offered lower price to consider my orig lost of travel expenses, But do to the original miss interpretation of physical damage being visual shown on the vehicle not answered truthful I'm doubtful on what other problems this car may have lurking and not being told of. As the general answer I reachieved from the sales men are "Oh I didn't know this or This is the 1st time of seeing this." And personally If I'm selling a used item at a reputable location I will know everything about an item not to mention all and every defect of it. But that's me. All I can say I'm sure this may be a once in a lifetime experience here but it has made me look differently and dealerships. The owner was pleasant to speak with and is not a reflection of his staff, so I would assume there will be a shake up of his staff to better reflect his attitude. read more

Won't go into the full story, but beware trying to haggle with this dealership. They only go so far (which isn't far at all), and REALLY don't like you playing the field. They try to make it personal and guilt you when it should be a emotion-free business decision. And they *really* don't like to lose. On the flip side, I'm sure if you play their game the way *they* want, they're very nice and take care of you. I originally had a 5 star rating, but had to change it due to last 24 hours (10 uncomfortable and unpleasant phone calls and multiple text messages later). Love Suburu as a company, and would highly recommend the cars. But I'd give my recommendation of this dealership only with a GIANT grain of salt. read more

I bought a 2021 Subaru Forester. I stupidly thought the sales person told me the truth on why such a new vehicle was being sold. The story was that an elderly man didn't like the features after driving it and couldn't get used to it. After purchasing I found several (over 6) previous service receipts. Based on the paperwork I found the original owner was very frustrated with the service department. He traded in his Subaru and took a loss on it rather than continue to work with them. I wanted to have confidence that Subaru does take care of its customers and stands by its products, so I asked if they cover the first years services and they said "no". Artie Gonzales told me absolutely not and I would have to contact the corporate Subaru. He did not provide with information so I had to ask another employee for that. The corporate company will get back to me. I definitely don't have confidence in this dealership. *** update their general Sales Manager Terry Iseminger wrote a very nasty email as a reply to my negative review. That's definitely not a way to get someone to change their reviews. *** this company if even only this dealership is definitely not into providing a good customer experience. There's a nice kind way to smooth things over and instill confidence with out being arrogant, rude, and dismissive. read more
