I was an out of state buyer who flew in to buy a used car from this dealership. The Internet Sales Manager never listened to any of my concerns and did not provide an accurate description of the condition of the car. I was extremely disappointed seeing the car had not been detailed, it had been merely run through the wash. The interior was filthy and the front hood and bumper were riddled with chips in the paint. If you are a local buyer, your chances are better because you can walk away. But if you are an out of state buyer, you expect better communication and attention to detail. read more

I was attempting to buy a New Subaru Forester from Tucson Subaru working with Estavan Rosas. Somehow a "CJ" got involved, but I never talked to him. The only business card I received was from Estavan. I must have received some e-mails, but didn't recognize the name since I never spoke with him. All I wanted was a document that described the who, what, when where, why and how on the car. Really simple request. I don't want to sign a document where something could be added at a later date, not trusting car dealerships. Estavan keep saying they could not do it since the car was not made. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. I waited days and finally called in and left a message with Terry Iseminger. He did not call in, so after waiting days I called in again and asked for the General Manager John Pater Savage. Once I left that message I got a quick call from Terry Iseminger the Sales Manager. It started off heated, but I again asked why couldn't I get a document that described exactly what I would be buying. It was apparent Terry didn't want to sell me a car stating I was "mean." Terry was adamant he or his salesmen would not sell me a car. I then got a call from the GM Savage. I went through the story with him got basically the same responses and I told him I was recording the conversation as Arizona is a one-party consent state. He got really upset I was recording and terminated the conversation. He did say in essence the dealership has more customers than cars and I take that to mean to hell with customer service. I will also file this information with the Subaru Corporation. I will tell anyone that like most people I don't trust car dealers. All I wanted was a document then when I signed it, I knew exactly what I was buying. Since they have more customers than cars, they don't want me as a customer even though I was a cash buyer. I had chosen a beautiful certified used Crosstrek. The car would be mine after certifying and detailing. After the certification process my 'new' car was being backed out of the bay at Tucson Subaru and another technician hit the back of my car tearing off the bumper. I was called and told what happened. I was so disappointed! I called the dealership to tell them I would not go forward with the sale due to do the car now being wrecked, and, I haven't heard a word from the dealership. I heard back from the dealership telling me the car was being repaired. I asked that since now the car had been wrecked and the Carfax would be affected, would the dealership adjust the price. After test driving a few other vehicles in that class, I quickly realized the Forester was the right vehicle for me. Yet what was more amazing was the outstanding service I received from day one. I can say with utmost certainty I have been around the block with dealing with many car companies, as well as multiple service shops and only less than a few have been worth the time of day. Yet when it comes to Tucson Subaru, I never had less than impeccable service. I am now into my 2nd Subaru Forester (2015) and got my daughter a (2015) Crosstreck. You can say we are one loyal Subaru Family. Not only does my family and I have a very reliable and great driving vehicle, but also the integrity of Tucson Subaru remains strong and unwavering. Worst subaru to take your vehicle to I would never let them work on my car. Service is absolutely horrible specially Raj, I had taken my car in for the first time in the middle of summer bc my dipstick was shooting out of my car. After waiting for weeks to months for Raj to finally call and tell me the issue. He then tried to blame me for causing it and bc my oil pan had a slight dent but not causing any issues before so why would it now? Well then after another week of waiting they finally said it was ring land failure and proceeded with a warranty claim bc my car is under warranty. Another week goes by I finally get the car back and with clips and caps missing from engine bay, and car was also burning my brand new clutch. Took it back and they replaced them, but nothing about the smell. a few more days go by car starts to whine really bad to the point that I had to take it back. I was told belt was too tight. After that I maybe put another 2k miles on it and it started miss firing again check engine light went off. I took it back and same issue ringland failure only this time I'm getting told it's due to over boost and I caused it by driving the car getting accused of aggressively driving my Car. So it won't be covered. Even after I've explain i bought an STI to drive I never signed anything saying I wouldn't drive my Car fast or a certainty. My review is with mixed feelings regarding the Service Department. After purchasing a new Subaru Ascent from Tucson Subaru my vehicle had a few rattles in the dashboard and front doors. Also the front brakes were making a squealing sound when coming to a slow stop. As hard as the Service Department tries they cannot fix the rattles even though they add extra padding to the problem areas. As for the brakes, they have been looked over and the mechanic claims nothing appears to be wrong. Yet the brakes are getting worse and making more noise. It's great that a loaner car is always provided when I bring in my vehicle, over and over again, however it's frustrating and time consuming yet no fixes are completed to my satisfaction. I contacted Subaru Corp and they are of no help. A District Service Manager was to contact me regarding my complaints. It's five weeks later and no one has contacted me. I called Tucson Subaru three days ago, left a voice message with the Service Department and still no one has called me back. It's fair to say this will be my last Subaru. read more

He also inquired about my trade. I went and met with Chris Smith, who CJ had left with my information and interested vehicle. Chris appraised my vehicle and took me for a brief road trip- was pleasantly surprised when he said, "we're not going on the usual 4 right turns" so I really got to see the how the Subaru rode on the streets, curves, and hills. Not only do they have beautiful and clean cars to look at, ride and sell, but it's the personality and friendliness that comes with every salesman and worker here. For once I didn't feel like I was getting attacked by salesmen when I came here. I was able to browse at my own freedom and comfort until I wanted to speak with someone, then one of the friendly salesman approached me with great vibes. Does anyone have recommendations for someone reliable who works here? We always get Raj. He never admits to his faults, often tells us one thing, but when we come back he tells us something else. My dad asked h to check the ignition because it kept locking. Raj said he would run a diagnostic and have it ready in a few hours. We came back and he said he rotated the tires and did all other checkups. But he never said they checked the ignition. My dad kept asking if they did and Raj danced around the question. They completely blew off my girlfriends complaints about her brand new Subaru Crosstrek making loud noises in the wheel well and that her AC was not working properly. I purchased a used BMW from Tucson Subaru. The buying experience was low pressure and I got the deal I wanted. We left feeling a little uneasy, because we had never not had to bicker with the sales manager to get the deal we wanted. But we settled into new ownership of the BMW after a few days and loved the car. Tucson Subaru gives you a 3 month warranty on engine and drive train (at least, that's how it was explained to us at signing). Almost a month to the day, my BMW's air conditioning, power steering, and alternator stopped working. I called Tucson Subaru to ask if it was covered and they said they couldn't tell me until they looked at it. Knowing (because they told me) that they had little knowledge of BMW's and no knowledge of a diesel, we chose to have the car towed to BMW of Tucson on a Friday afternoon. I called Tucson Subaru on Monday and asked about the warranty. This is when I was told that unless I had the car towed to them first, the insurance wouldn't cover it. But they would check and make sure. It is now Wednesday. Tucson Subaru finally dropped the bad news that my $1700 repair would have to come out of my pocket. No offer of assistance from the dealership. Don't care that the insurance wouldn't cover it, Tucson Subaru. Why won't you cover it? Some dealerships honor their commitment to their customers. There is no honor at Tucson Subaru. I will never again purchase any vehicle from them. Customer service after the sale is HUGE!!!!! read more

If it was just about the Salesman it would be a 1 star (or negative stars if that was possible), but I didn't think that was fair to the entire dealership because of 1 salesman so I upgraded it to 2 stars. I will NEVER deal with salesman Bob Wilson again. The Toyota Sequoia we came in there to look at was everything I had hoped for and more. Unfortunately, it had over 170K miles so getting a bank to finance it was not going to be easy. (and I understood that) 1.) First red flag was when I asked if I could take it to my mechanic real quick just to give it a quick inspection, and he told me no. I work in the automotive repair business, and have people come to me all the time with cars from dealerships wanting us to do a pre-purchase inspections. No reputable dealership that has nothing to hide, would ever deny such a request, and I seriously doubt that is the policy of this dealership. I believe Bob took it upon himself to refuse me this basic courtesy. 2.) This vehicle was listed at just under $12K. I told Bob we couldn't afford that entire amount plus closing costs cash, and would need to do some kind of financing but could come up with as much as $10K down if necessary. He said we could submit the paperwork offering $4-5K down first and see what happens and then could raise it higher if necessary. It was closing time and we would have to wait until the next day to hear. I tried to give him a $500 deposit to hold the vehicle for me, because we absolutely wanted it. He wouldn't take it. I thought it was just because it was closing time and he didn't want to deal with taking my deposit, but now I feel he just never wanted to sell me this vehicle. Not sure if he just didn't like me or my wife, or if he was trying to save that vehicle to save for a friend or what....but I'm more convinced than ever he just never wanted me to buy it. The next day, he came back to me and said the bank said no. I asked if he had counter offered with more money down, and he told me that they wouldn't do it, period no matter how much I put down. Something about debt to income ratio. At this point it was full value (around $13,700 out the door with tax, title, etc..) cash or nothing at all. 3.) After that text from him demanding full cash, he cut off all communications. I sent him multiple texts and tried multiple times to call him always going straight to his voice mail. I asked if they could do the entire thing including closing costs under $12K. I felt confident I could find the other $2K somewhere. But he never replied. I then asked him if I could put $10K down just to hold the vehicle to give me a little time to come up with the remaining $3,700....again no response. (Not talking about me being impatient that he didn't reply immediately...we went well over 24 hours without any contact from him and I verified with the receptionist that he was there that day) 4.) Finally, I took time off of work to go in to the dealership and asked for the sales manager, and was referred to the finance manager who had originally worked on my deal. Explained everything to him, and he assured me that with just a little more money down (didn't need anywhere even close to $10K down) that he could get me done. I take delivery of the vehicle thanks to Curt the Finance manager, and he's the only reason I'm not giving a 1 star review...but as long as Bob Wilson works there, I can't give this dealership anything more than a 2 star review read more

Meanwhile, I already received 2 offers for 1600 and 1700 more for my trade on other Outback Limiteds that were already priced lower than theirs debunking their BS line that the other dealers were just giving me more for my trade because they were charging me more for their car. I bought a used car from Tucson Subaru about 2 years ago with the help of Kevin G. and opted for the extended warranty. Last month, my motor developed piston slap so I took it in to be looked at, and I was very glad I got it because they ended up replacing the motor for only the cost of the deductible. It should be noted that my experience was only with the salesman Trent, and I have no other experience with anyone else that works there. That said, Trent was the quintessential stereotypical car salesman that everyone hates to deal with. When talking on the phone, Trent would constantly interrupt me to tell me what I wanted. When I told him I found cars that were much cheaper at another dealership, he said that he would price match if I showed him an offer. Once I showed him the offer, he went on to say that "those cars don't exist". Once I told him I would be taking my business elsewhere, he proceeded to send a text to my personal cellphone saying that I was making a big mistake. She answered my inquiry immediately. When I went for my appointment she was there professional Knowledgeable and listened to my Auto needs. Sure enough, I walked in on a weekend day and no one greeted me, not even the two receptionists who were talking to each other and didn't even look at me. She said since I did not purchase my vehicle from the Tucson dealership, she would not be able to help me. Nice people, but utterly clueless. I brought my 2017 WRX in for 18k service and my service adviser was a really nice guy, but seemed afraid of his own shadow. Really nice - just seemed scared and uncomfortable. My husband and I went to breakfast while the car was being serviced and when we returned, we were told that the service techs couldn't find the key to my lug bolts so they couldn't rotate the tires...and said they looked everywhere! We were invited to go back into the garage and look for ourselves. We went back (un-escorted - is that a safety violation?), and my husband took one quick look on the floor at the tray that came out of my trunk - the one with the jack and the spare tire. Sure enough, there was the lug key laying right there plain as day. So they said they would rotate the tires, so that's fine, and we waited. We went back into the showroom to look at cars, and they had a brand new WRX STI, RA Edition, which was really cool, right? We asked 4 different people (3 salesmen, plus our service adviser) what they could tell us about it and why it was different than a regular STI - not one of them could answer. Not only that, they didn't even bring over anyone that could answer the question. Guys...it's a $50,000 flagship sports sedan - track ready - and all they could tell me was that it had gold wheels and a carbon fiber spoiler, which anyone could see from a photo of the car - and right there was sitting the actual car! I guess it's a side effect of being the only Subaru dealership in town. I guess they assume you've done your own research and if you want a Subaru, you will go there and buy a Subaru. I'll continue to get my service done there because it's convenient and included in my lease payment. However, I had a similar experience with an "only ____ dealership" in Reno, Nevada and when it was time to get a new car, I was happy to drive 120 miles to Sacramento where they knew their product and were motivated to do a good job. Like I said, they were nice - everyone was nice - but they inspired ZERO confidence. We checked the lug bolts before we left to make sure they were all there and screwed on tight. The experience made me wonder if I took a turn too sharp, would my wheel come flying off? Guys - get it together! read more

well... our saga begins with our need for a replacement vehicle after my wife's car was totaled by another driver. We did the research online. Narrowed our choices down by vehicle type. Emphasis on safety, because after your latest car gets totaled, you get a mite more concerned about safety afterwards. So, then we did our research on the dealers and then went visiting. The people here were friendly and the pressure was non-existent (thanks Kevin). We had an idea on what model we wanted and the features preferred and Kevin did a great job of breaking it down as to what our best bang for the buck value would be. We drove other vehicles (the CRX was really nice, btw) but the Forrester was the one that had the best overall combination of features and price. The dealership staff was incredibly polite and solicitous and maybe it was because we were prepared to test drive and make a decision or it could just be how they roll. Curt, the finance guy was easy to work with, we picked out our choices on how much down and how much to finance, no hiccups there. Options laid out like they should have been, although I really would prefer to have some of that information more up front, but that's just a preference to have a better idea on the total price before you sign. Still, they stayed late and didn't hurry us. Wanted to make sure we understood what we were getting and how to best use it. Very willing to follow up as well. Overall, the most hassle free vehicle purchase experience we've ever had. We understand that everyone won;t experience what we did... but they were more than willing to let the vehicle sell itself once we established what it was that we wanted with the vehicle and allowed us to express what we had questions about. No issues with any of that, it was nice to see a salesman allow us to ask about a vehicle instead of being told about it.... if you can understand the difference. read more

The service department was recommended by a friend and I would say that he was right, based on my experience so far. I was surprised to see this dealership had only 3.5 stars. I went in the middle of the weekday one day only and it was packed. The salesperson told me it was like the 3rd or fourth busiest dealership in the city. Surprised me being that they sell AWD cars in AZ. Anyway, I had a completely different experience with Trent than a previous reviewer did. I called him in the Fall from Scottsdale and didn't end up making it down there til like February. He emailed me every so often but not excessively. He had my phone number but never abused it (or gave it out) which he said he wouldn't. Upon meeting him (with an appointment) he was busy and got me the keys and let me play around in the car while he went on a test drive with a customer. That helped me learn a bit about the electronics of a car that was far different than the one I had. I told him I had an appointment back in the Phoenix area and couldn't stay long. He got me my numbers in writing, explained them, didn't introduce me to extraneous people I didn't need to meet and even emailed me the following day to drop another $1K off the price. I was appreciative of his time and maybe even more so after, while visiting a local dealer in Tempe and getting the runaround and my time wasted. Being that it was a used car that wasn't a Subaru he was also quite knowledgeable about it. My mom loves Subies. Went to this dealership to work out a deal on a certified preowned vehicle. Everything was going well until they valued my trade. The value they arrived at was almost $4000 under KBB. I buy cars often and know that dealerships have to look at what auction value is but having another model exactly like mine minus navigation and one year older than mine, they offered $6000 less than what they were selling this one for. I don't understand the logic here and once they determined that I was not going to accept the offer first given to me for my trade they quickly assumed the deal was done and I felt very dismissed. I think this occurred for the best though because I received full KBB value for my trade at another dealership and walked out with a new car and not preowned. Worth the trip! We were looking for a Crosstrek with features & color that turned out to be available on only one vehicle in the state (!). Our local dealer had jerked us around in the past and the one who had the car has a questionable reputation, so we called Trent (from whom we'd bought a used Suby a couple of years ago) to see if he could get it for us. Not only did he do that, he gave us a great price and great value on our trade-in -- more than I know I would have gotten from my low-balling local dealer. So once again, Trent made it worth driving 200 miles from Prescott to buy a car. (A bit too far for the free oil change, though :-) ) "But wait, there's more...." When we decided to buy the car, we were pleased to learn we were entitled to a $500 "loyalty" rebate by trading in another Suby. Then when it came time to close the deal, we were dismayed to discover that the rebate might not be available after all because the dealer we'd bought it from hadn't filed the necessary paperwork with Subaru of America! Trent went to bat for us with SOA and got us the rebate -- so even after the deal he earns your business. read more

I bought a 2021 New Outback I tire icon came on, my wife saw a nail in the rear right side tire. I took it to discount tire. they found nothing the went low the next day. I sturuggled to find which tire the system said was bad. when i looked in the manule it said contact the dealer. I found out to have which tire is low i have to have to make an appointmet with the dealer. OUTRAGOUS!! Any car that needs an appointment to read the tire icon, I CANNOT RECCOMMEND. I bought a new 2014 Subaru Outback nein June 2014. When I returned for my 30,000 mile service, the service Dept managed to fry my radio/gps/nav system. Because it was under warranty the system was replaced no problems. In May of 2018 I returned for the 60,000 mile service. I warned my Service Advisor Jason what happened at 30,000 and expressed my concern because the car was now out of warranty. When I picked up the car the gps and radio worked and I assumed all was good. A few weeks later I attempted to use the nav system for the first time since the service call. IT DID NOT WORK! I called Jason. He said they would look at, "no charge" ... not fix it. Not take care of it. Just look at it for no charge! I am done with Tucson Subaru and recommend you look elsewhere too. 10/17/3018. I just noticed the Service Manager's response to my review. It's nice but that's all...too little too late. If he was interested in doing the right thing he could and should have called me. They certainly had my phone number. I'm dumping my Outback, saying good bye to the Subaru brand in general and this dealership in particular. Going with a new Ford Explorer now. I wish Tucson Subaru good luck in the car wars to come. read more
