My experience with Tuff Shed was good up until the subcontractors came to put together and install the shed. I live in a mobile home park that has specific requirements and restrictions. I got approval of where the shed should be placed via a plot plan. The subcontractors had a copy of the plot plan and made an error of placing the shed 6inches from the home instead of placing the shed 6 inches from the drip line of the awning. This made the awning of the house and the shed to have an awkward overhang, and make the awning of the house in a dangerous situation during high winds, since the supports were removed to accommodate the shed. A little common sense would have gone a long way, if the subcontractors had just placed the shed 6 inches away avoiding the awning support removal and making the awning a violation of the park rules. I received a notice from the park requiring me to correct the issue within 10 days or risk being fined heavily and kicked out of the home I had just bought and moved in to. It really put a damper on my newly purchased mobile home and cause tremendous emotional distress. I scrambled to find someone to remove half of my awning and replace it with a sturdy , smaller one. The other option the park gave me was to 'rick-roll' the shed over 6 inches. I contacted Tuff Shed several times to see if they could help move the shed but they refused and said it was 'against policy' to move the shed. I contacted other contractors and they said the 'rick-rolling' would damage the shed and the contents (2 tons of things!) would have to be moved out first. I opted for the awning to be removed and paid a significant amount of money to have that done. Being unhappy with the interaction with Tuff Shed, I filed a dispute with the bank I paid in cash full for (no financing). The return half of the money, winning the dispute. The other half Tuff Shed kept. A month later, Tuff Shed is now threatening and intimidating me with a law suit and tossing around 'repossession' of the shed if I don't pat them the other half (about $5,000). I did not do any financing with them. They did not correct the issue that was their fault, even so I gave them multiple opportunities to do so and now they are bullying me into paying them the remainder that I had won in a dispute with the credit card/bank that I paid with. We have wanted a She-shed for a very long time. I dreamed of having a life size doll house cottage I could design and use for a new business. My husband was dying to get all my crap out of the garage! :) So, he surprised me with a She-shed for Christmas! We looked around Lowes and Home Depot and heard Tuff Shed was the best, so we went out to the Ventura location just to look. We found the most knowledgeable and patient Tuff Shed expert - Janice Dill Schmidt! Janice listened while we told her what we thought we were looking for and then put everything we said into her computer program in seconds. OMG we saw it on paper for the first time! She suggested more windows, gave us the option of a Dutch door and window boxes. We were shocked at how much we could customize a shed! Janice gave us EVERY option imaginable. We changed our minds a dozen or more times, added and deleted a dozen or more items. Janice happily took our countless calls (some after business hours) and even had FaceTime calls with us because we were unsure of our space. The She-shed was installed yesterday and we could not be happier! It is very high quality. The installers were great and fast. It would not have turned out so perfect if it were not for Janice Dill Schmidt. We have a beautiful new shed the Tuff Shed Ventura team built for us. Janice Dill and the Tuff Shed team exceeded my expectations at every turn. I enjoyed configuring the shed with the online software and 10 minutes after we saved our quote I get a phone call ON A SUNDAY thanking me for making the quote and helpfully informing me the taxes wouldn't be applied until I placed the order. After fiddling with the layout a little more I placed the order and very quickly received a text and call asking me when I would like it installed. They could get it prefabbed and in my yard in three days! That was too fast for our plans (three days, who would have thought!) so we scheduled it for 2.5 weeks out. The build team showed up within five minutes of the start of their window and had the 8' x 10' shed assembled and done four hours later. It is a beautiful little shed with all of the bits properly assembled and painted. Tuff Shed then closed out the transaction with a smooth process and ample opportunity for feedback and correction if there would have been any problems, but there were absolutely no problems at all. The whole process was quite good. I'm a business owner and I'm jealous of the system Tuff Shed has in place to deliver a good custom shed to customers. A shout out to Janice Dill of Tuff Shed (Ventura Rd., Ventura) for an amazing customer service call this morning (4/6/2024). I have a bee problem under the corner of my (12 year old) Tuff Shed. The bee keepers asked what type flooring is in the shed. I called the Canoga Park store (where I purchased it in 2012). When the phone finally was answered, the man spoke so fast and with an accent that I could not understand what he was rattling off to me. I re-asked my question, and he rushed through the same response with a definite note of impatience in his voice. I disconnected the call rather than get more frustrated. Then I had the idea to call another store, and that is when I spoke with Janice (who, by the way, answered within about 5 rings). Amazingly, she was able to pull up my original order from 2012 and tell me exactly what I needed. In addition, she offered to email me a copy of the order with all the specs. What a gem of an employee you have in Janice. All your customers should be so lucky to cross paths with her. I certainly was! P.S. Purchased a 10'x12' storage shed. Originally was going to have it painted, but decided to paint it myself too save some money. I thought of building the shed to save a lot of money. After looking at the models on their lot, two things stood out. The metal frame the shed is built on. This will keep moisture and pest away better than some treated wood, I would have placed it on. (Unless you want to pour a pad, I didn't). The second, the metal door frame and hardware. This is built sturdy and I truly believe, if I built it, in a couple years my door would not close properly. This door is large and I can see it will last. The whole shed is built to last. That's why I opted to buy, instead of build. Janice from Tuff shed (in Ventura), helped us come up with what we wanted in the shed. She was very helpful and guided us through everything. It was easy, there are lots of options. The whole process was simple. Paper work was done online, no problems. When the guys came to install, they did a fantastic and quick job. Saul and his crew did good. I'm extremely satisfied with my shed and really looking forward to having more work space in my garage. In my opinion, it is money well spent. read more

In my quest for a new shed in my backyard, I found the quality of the products and services at local home improvement stores, was subpar. The ensuing hassle of trying to get the shed delivered and installed led me to search elsewhere. After years of waiting, we finally invested in a Tuff Shed. Despite our community's restriction on tall sheds, we had it installed and painted to match our home. All of our neighbors love it. The shed blends seamlessly into our side yard. Sales consultant Regina Hughes and plant manager Ray Rojas made the experience a positive one. However, the installers arrived late and hurried through the job. They falsely indicated completion with Tuff Shed factory office staff, leaving several issues unresolved: incorrect placement, exposed nails and holes, incomplete trim painting, and damaged door insulation. Upon informing Regina and Ray, they ensured the original crew returned to address 90% of the problems, including moving the shed. An oversized vent cutout remained unfixed, but the caulking was completed. I chose3 to handle the remaining painting myself - no faith in their skills to do so correctly. I wanted to see if the finished product was as good as the sales experience my wife and I had with the Sales Consultant, Janice Dill, at the Tuff Shed Ventura branch. The installation and finished product were excellent. Our excellent experience started with our initial meeting with Janice. She helped us design a nice shed based on what we were looking for. We didn't place an order that first meeting but we were so pleased with Janice's help and enthusiasm and that the Ventura branch had several samples of their sheds to view and examine, we returned about a week later to place the order. We are completely satisfied with the colors we chose for the paint and shingles and with the quality of the materials and installation of the shed. I feel it is worth every dollar.
