We have been to multiple islands in Hawaii and have had great Hawaiian food in California. This food truck was a surprise and it was amazing. Positives: -their prices were very good and reasonable. -you get a lot of food, great bang for your buck. It was much appreciated especially coming from California where everything still costs an arm and a leg. It's so bad in California that I would have to share with my wife when we go out to try and save money. Sure we can stay home, but we're on vacation and I want to give her a good time. In California I would have to decide between filling up my tank or going out to eat ‍ -we got the BBQ mix plate which had short ribs, teriyaki chicken, and bbq beef. Everything tasted great, I loved how the chicken wasn't too sweet. My wife loved the galbi, that's saying a lot because she's very picky with her galbi. It was just the right amount of savory and had just the right amount of fat. We also got the poke bowl, the fish wasn't too sweet very good and tasted fresh. -service was quick and friendly Ambiance: Note that this is a food truck though they gave a small covered area for rainy days and if you want to eat your food right away. Another killer food truck in Oregon. This one was Tuimato Hawaiian BBQ in Astoria and was absolute perfection-along with congenial and efficient service! I had the Kalua pork. Tender, delicious and right up my low carb alley with a massive pile of shredded pork. I did eat it with the white rice and have no regrets! BF got to enjoy the mac salad. As good if not better than what you get on the island. Adorable little eating spot conveniently located behind a killer laundromat and across from Astoria Co-op for other grocery type supplies. Food that tastes like it came off a food truck in Waipahu, we were very happy with the quality, the price, and how much we got for our money! Me and my husband visited here on our honeymoon 9 months ago and the first time we went, I was immediatley in love with the food. We went twice and the kalua just kept getting better. We have since gone back and found the owner got 3 awards in Hawaii and honestly, well deserved. The owner and other employees (1 or 2) are very friendly and always smiling. The outdoor seating is very nice and there's even a firepit and a game of corn hole. Best kalua I've ever had! It's good hot and its really good colder as well. So juicy and so much flavor. Solid food and great service. Prices a little higher than I would like but the food is tasty, good portions and fresh. The sauce is sweet and flavorful. Rice is not too mushy and the meat is cooked just right. The trailer is tucked in next to a gas station so it's not a great place to dine but the food is well worth it so don't over look this place. read more

Food was so good, sauces on the side were amazing, the guys working the stand were super chill, prices are very reasonable, and it's next to a brewery and gas station so your options for drinks are endless. I heard "big boy in love" playing on the loud speaker wondering where it was coming from and it was this Hawaiian plate lunch wagon. What a surprise! The Mac salad was killer here, most places put too much mayonnaise but Tuimatos does it jussssr riiight. DEFINITELY STOP HERE for ono food! Great seating area under the tree. I was next door doing laundry a was hungry decided to try Tumimato Hawaiian Food Cart. I was not disappointed. I ordered the #3. There was so much delicious beef, chicken, rice and Mac Salad. All meats were cooked to perfect perfection. I dove in and realized I needed to take a picture for the review. The Hawaiian music playing and inviting place to sit was also a treat.
