I work up the block and we like to order from Tula on Fridays for lunch. You have to try the Korean BBQ Burger! I tried for the first time today. It's a sesame crusted turkey burger with a really yummy bbq sauce & it's served with sweet potato bites that they air fry. The chicken Reuben on rye is always scrumptious! I usually get that or the Mediterranean spread. No pics of anything because I'm always starving lol I'll take pics next week. They are also able to accommodate my gluten free boss lol which he loves because not a lot of places in Bay Shore has GF bread. read more

Had such a nice experience here on a semi-busy Thursday night in the poppin' town of Bay Shore. Our waitress, Wendy, was very nice and honest - she made her recommendations which we kind of went with. The mussels appetizer was prob one of the most cleanly prepped and juicy dish I've ever had of mussels. Every single shell had a perfectly cooked mussel, which doesn't always happen. The balsamic glazed salmon was also a hit. Loved the cauliflower mash and the arugula gave it a fresh flare. Only dish that wasn't a success was the lentil burger, which the waitress didn't give her thumbs-up approval on when we ordered. It was dry and bland - but a good option for any vegans/vegetarians out there. Loved the Cool as a Cuc cocktail - but at $14 a glass, you don't get very much. The Mediterranean spread for two looked and tasted awesome and the honey baked Brie was as delicious as the name sounds. We weren't sure if we'd have room for our entrees, but we managed. Had a great experience at Tula's. I had the striped bass with cous cous. It was lightly pan fried with black olives, feta and grape tomatoes. One of the best fish dishes I've ever had!!! Came in for take out after a nice beach day for some filling vegetarian food and Tula Kitchen was the fix! Surprisingly busy on a Tuesday evening which I did not mind at all. I was greeted by a hostess stationed outside with face mask on. I ordered quinoa stuffed avocado and Mediterranean spread (spinach pie and pita bread with hummus and side salad). Just wanted to update on how Tula's is going during covid19. We ordered curbside (they have delivery too). We ordered our favorite chicken bowls and the chicken kabob dinner. As always it was outstanding. Honestly, the best meal I have had during this time. I called in my order at 4:05. They asked what kind of car I had. They had me pay/tip with my CC. I pulled up at the time they told me. I waited about 10 minutes and the owner came out with my food. There was no contact. It is a very safe system. And, the food was wrapped up perfectly. My new go to place!! Talk about an extensive menu- they really have something for EVERYONE! Chicken dishes for the meat eaters, fish for the pescatarians, tofu and seitan for the vegans- and anything else in between! We had our weekly girls night here tonight and everything was awesome- very cool drinks, delicious food and yummy dessert. I cannot wait to go back!!! I've been here sooo many times and I love it more each time. They have def been one of those places that's getting better with time. I remember when they first opened and they were very inconsistent but I did still support and now it's one of my go-to's! They have an excellent menu! You can do really well here even if you're with your annoyingly picky eater friend. I've had a ton of plates here from the Meditteranean platter for two, mussels (always), almost all of their salads (with added chicken or shrimp), the chicken dish with the broccoli rabe, Mexican pizza, and their desserts! I loved everything especially last night. The Mediterranean platter with spinach pies, Greek salad, pita, hummus and tzatziki which is the best for 2-3 people as a table starter. Mexican pizza with chicken was really good too, also good for splitting with your peeps. They have a really amazing drink menu with all of these well crafted cocktails.... this one bartender though is so ridic, he completely lacks situational awareness... why am I yelling excuse me across the bar at the bartender who was staring into space.... like survey the bar and be attentive. Another guest sitting at the bar was like "he is the worst", lol I feel bad but like wtf pay attention. It's not the first time I've experienced him either. Another thing is their price point.... they def have some plates that are more on the $$$ side so either don't eat with cheap people or just be aware. The food is good and their portion size is pretty generous.. These two desserts we had last night were phenomenal... the Rico suave brownie.. which was a yummy, decadent brownie crushed into a sundae serving cup with ice cream, we loved it. Found this great restaurant by accident and will definitely be returning. My wife is a vegetarian and in most cases it is difficult to find something on the menu for her other then eggplant. Well Tulas has a plethora of choices for those that choose not to eat meat as well as those that do. The service is outstanding!! The place is lively and loud however the quality of the food and service far outweighs the noise. If you are in the area I highly recommend that u give it a try. read more

I went here for a bridal shower. They have a private back room which was great. It was on the smaller side but it worked for the size of the party. They had a great brunch spread on each table so you didn't have to get up and serve yourself. They kept the mimosas coming the entire time. Staff was friendly and constantly around. Tula Kitchen is a lovely restaurant with great options for vegetarians and vegans. We had a private room so we could hold a meeting and enjoy the delicious food. The service was attentive and excellent. The ambiance and decor is quite lovely and the Halloween decor cute. I chose the fussili with chicken, Parmesan, garlic and vegetables and I really enjoyed it. Rather than being served in oil, the chicken broth was a nice touch for more flavor and the amount of garlic was perfect for my liking. I love garlic. My friend ordered the salmon cakes and it was served with a slaw and she raved about it. My other friend orders the almond chicken and it was served with a nice salad on the side. Had a fantastic dinner with my family here. We have some vegetarians, gluten free, and allergies, and they were able to accommodate all of it. Food was great all around. Like holy moly so good. A few of us went so we ordered: A Latin Lover Board: beyondddd good. Baked brie with roasted veggies. Whipped ricotta and honey. zomg. Mexican Pizza: so good. Hummus: I gotta say this is the best hummus I've had in my life. Legit SO good. I could've easily just had some of this and been happy or the Latin lover board and this. OMG. Next time I go I'd like to add the roasted veggies with it. My main was the Turkey Meatballs with Zucchini and Squash Spaghetti. Again after basically eating quite a bit of appetizers I didn't want my dinner. I had a few bites and couldn't wait for lunch the next day. Thankfully I remembered my leftovers and packed 'em up to take with me to work the next day. Dessert was the bread pudding and the brownie sundae we all split. I personally loved the brownie sundae. My favorite restaurant always. Tula kitchen is such a gem. It's one of my favorite healthy food restaurants on Long Island. It's menu is different then anything else in the area, but they have options for everyone. Tula Kitchen is on the corner of busy Main Street which is a perfect location for their bar area airy wide open door street side inside and outside patio dining. They also have set aside the dining room which has an eclectic appearance with bleeding red walls. We had reservations which I recommend since it was busy for a Friday evening. Our hostess seated us on time and our lovely waitress was at our table taking our drink orders within seconds. The thirty minutes later, we found our waitress and addressed the question of our drink orders. The manager came by and was apologetic for the delay. But it wasn't until I stated my same concern if we order additional drinks that the management decided to pay for our first round. I am guessing that it was an off night. Meanwhile, the glazed salmon entrée I had ordered that was over a bed of mashed cooked cauliflower was very good. So as promised I made a return and was not disappointed. This time we got to sit in the part of the restaurant where the garage doors open. Even though it is now fall, we have had some great warn weather so this was perfect! To start we ordered the quinoa stuffed avocado which was good. For dinner I ordered the Po-kay Bowl which was awesome. It had tuna, purple rice, edamame, beets, avocado, and brussel sprouts. There was a tofu option too. One of my absolute FAVORITE spots for vegan food! The service is always stellar, food is fresh, and ambiance is perfect. Most workers recognize us and greet us so kindly when we come in, it's like family. GO TO apps are the Falafels, Hummus Platter with Roasted Veggies (sooooo AMAZING). 2012 Update: I'm pleased to share that Tula Kitchen has stayed true to its roots and has been rather consistent since it has opened its doors back in '07-08. The menu hasn't been altered much (which is both good/bad, I would have loved to see more creative dishes) and the food is constantly delicious. Every time I'm here I'm mulling for at least 10 minutes over the menu choices. Do I want to go full on vegetarian tonight? Salmon? Chicken Shish-kabobs? Pasta?... its clearly an overwhelming experience even when you're a seasoned foodie. The honey baked brie w/garlic toast is heaven for creamy fromage lovers. When made properly (ie: honey evenly distributed over everything) the warm brie spread over crunchy slices of oil drizzled toast is an intoxicating experience for my taste buds. Surely, it's not the most original nor creative dish that Tula offers, however it's an appetizer worth getting again and again! The pasta bowls can feed a small family... unfortunately there IS a charge for sharing so do yourself a favor and take some home for lunch the following day. In addition to that, the bean burger is always a favorite choice of mine and is made with lentils instead of black beans. It holds together pretty well for a vegi-burger. The sweet potato fries that accompany it were flavorful albeit mushy and undercooked the last time I got it. The best vegi-friendly dish on the menu (in my stomach's lofty opinion at least) is the sesame crusted tofu with sauteed broccoli rabe & coconut basmati, It really is a dish so good that even the meat eaters will enjoy it. The thai-inspired peanut sauce makes this dish quite savory. Oddly enough, the dessert menu is disappointing with an exception for the dream bar. When served warm accompanied by a dollop of vanilla ice cream it finishes a meal off the right way (delicious sugar, sugar, fat and sugar!). read more
