The waiters don't show you the full receipt and also don't tell you that you already paid a tip and will prompt you to add an additional tip. It's a bit deceptive. What a great experience at Tulum! Our waiter Kevin was amazing. He was personable, funny, and super honest about the food choices. The lamb chops were seasoned perfectly and so juicy. The appetizer portions were surprisingly generous, and both the guacamole and salsa were excellent. The atmosphere was lively, with an entertainer walking around, dancing, and performing impressive fire tricks that kept the energy high throughout the evening. While the menu didn't completely win me over--the enchiladas, in particular, missed the mark--my friend couldn't stop raving about his fried snapper and thoroughly enjoyed it. With its inviting outdoor bar and prime location, I can easily see this spot being a go-to destination during the summer months. This is a nice cute spot to go with friends or a date night. We came for a bachelorette trip and tried this place out one night as it was highly recommended. They were kind enough to extend our grace period as we were behind in traffic. Our server was a nice gentleman that seemed to have a few large parties but kept making his rounds. Because I had a big lunch, I only wanted to try a few small things. So I got their empanadas, plantains and elote. I've have better empanadas elsewhere so I wasn't thrilled about these. Good Evening, My family and I moved to the Atlanta area in the spring of 2004. Since then, we have made it a point to explore and experience new restaurants throughout the city. I was genuinely excited when I received an invitation to celebrate a friend's birthday at Tulum Atlanta, as it was a restaurant I had been looking forward to visiting. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by Farrah, whose kind smile and welcoming spirit immediately made us feel comfortable. After being seated, our server, Thaddeus, took our drink and appetizer orders without issue. When it came time to place our dinner orders, he began with me. I initially ordered the beef quesadillas. Before he finished taking the remaining orders at the table, I politely asked if I could make a quick change and substitute the beef for chicken. His response was both surprising and disappointing. He said, "Awwwww man," and immediately walked away without offering any explanation. His reaction and abrupt departure came across as rude and unprofessional. When Thaddeus returned to our table, I addressed his behavior. He explained that the order had already been sent to the kitchen, that he had to run to the back to change it, and that if an order is prepared incorrectly, servers are responsible for paying half of the cost. Had he simply communicated that information before reacting the way he did, I would have gladly told him to leave the order as originally placed. Effective communication could have easily prevented the misunderstanding. There were several professional ways this situation could have been handled. Unfortunately, the interaction diminished what had otherwise been a pleasant experience and left a lasting negative impression. As this was my first visit to Tulum Atlanta, I had hoped for a memorable dining experience for all the right reasons. Regrettably, because of this interaction, it will also be my last. The shrimp egg rolls could've been good, but they were absolutely drenched in sauce -- and for me, that's always a red flag that the food can't stand on its own. Service wasn't great either. Our server consistently stopped by the table next to us first, you know, the guy with chains and diamond rings with the girl with the BBL? Even when we were clearly waiting.... I mean he checked on them 2-3 times before even remembering we were there. I visited Tulum on a Sunday around 5 PM with some friends. We had a reservation and were seated within about five minutes. There was an event happening outside, so the outdoor patio was packed--lots of people, loud music, and hookah. We chose to sit inside, which was less crowded but still pretty loud. The restaurant itself is really pretty, especially the entrance--it gives off a great first impression. Our server was okay. We ran into a few issues, but he did apologize. We arrived right before happy hour ends (it ends at 6pm) and I ordered a strawberry margarita for $12. It was good and very sweet, but the cup was small--about the same size as the water glasses. I was expecting something bigger, and I couldn't really taste the alcohol. I also ordered the pork sliders ($15). You get three, and they were good--also sweet. Alex is the Best !! Valet is the Best option as this restaurant is located in downtown ATL and there aren't many close parking options available. Good to make a reservation, we were seated a minute or 2 after we arrived. There was a DJ playing soft music which enhances the atmosphere. Out comes Alex to be our server for the evening and he was awesome. His energy and attention was very welcoming and fun. He gave great suggestions on the ducks and the food as well. What a time I had at Tulum Kitchen and bar!!! We arrived just in time for their happy hour and secured $12 drinks off the menu. I got a strawberry lemon drop (Pictured) and a Strawberry Margarita. The rest of my party also had either the same or a martini. The drinks were strong and tasty and came out pretty quick. While looking over the menu, we were greeted by a fire dancer going around the room performing. The performance was really cool and different. Afterwards our server came back and recommended a few dishes, to which we decided to try. She recommended we start off with either the snapper bites or the crab spinach dip as appetizers. We went with the latter and wowww was it a great choice. My only complaint would be that the portion was smaller than expected. I would say it was enough for one person. She then recommended the Steak, the Snapper and the Lamb-chops as entrees. We were told that all entrees except the lamb-chops are served as is and there was no substitutes to the sides. That was a bit disappointing being the price for the entrees were $$$ and now we cant choose our own sides. My sister ordered the steak bowl, my aunts ordered the snappers and I got the steak. The snapper came with spanish rice and salad. The ribeye came with fried potatoes and carrots. The steak bowl was basically a burrito bowl with steak. The dishes were all great! The snapper was fried and seasoned to perfection. The meal it self was enormous. The steak bowl was good too.. But the real star of the show was the Ribeye!!!! Whew at first I was hesitant to get it due to not being able to switch out the sides that come with it, however the sides paired well the steak. Everyone at the table wished they had ordered the steak after trying it... I only order my steak medium and a lot of restaurants rarely get it right. But Tulummm.... they perfected it. It melted into my mouth with each bite. Afterwards we decided to get dessert. We ordered the funnel cake(Pictured) to share. Myself and 15 of my friends came to Tulum on 8/31/26 for a celebratory dinner. The 1st issue was with the male host who was a little rude and then spent the rest of the night staring and glaring at our table. Then the manager, a short maybe Hispanic woman who would not give her name, came over to our table saying she received a noise complaint. When an argument occurred between customers, she begin using profanity towards the customers and the staff. Shout out to Kevin for being professional, patient, and polite the entire evening. The manager was not any of that. She did nothing to de-escalate the situation and then gave shots to the customers yelling as to celebrate with them opposed to using any managerial skills to calm the situation. She did not handle the situation well at all. I will NEVER return to this overpriced Mexican restaurant and will advise others to do the same. And even after my party was told to get out, we still paid our checks so you all still made money off of a party of 16 on a Monday night. Do better! read more

Tulum was a very lackluster experience for me and my friends. The food was just OK, nothing special about it at all. It definitely seems like the type of restaurant that focuses more on the aesthetic for Instagram stories and posts versus excellent food. It just seemed like not much attention was placed on that. I got the oxtail pasta and like I said it was OK. They had entertainment with female dancers that would dance around the restaurant and that was cool to me as well, but not anything too special I guess because I've seen it many times before. This restaurant just felt like a gimmick to me more than anything else. The one good thing I will say is that we did get really good service. She gave us all disclaimers and policies very early on. Of course the drinks are as high as the food but so worth it. Ok, we ordered the trio dip with queso, guacamole, and salsa $17. There is a parking lot and you have to pay $20 which was a downside. We were seated promptly upon arrival. It took a little while for our waitress to come greet us but when she did she was great. Drinks: I had the destination tulum and my friend had dark nectar. I didn't like that people were ordering the same drink as me and it was coming out in a larger glass. It didn't seem to be full consistency on what glasses were used for which drink and I personally don't think you can provide consistent service like that because why am I paying $18 for the same drink somebody's getting in a larger cup?! Ion like that. Food: I had the ribeye and it was absolutely seasoned to perfection. Listen, I am a steak girly. I don't eat sirloin and cheap cuts of meat but it's very rare for me to order steak outside of a steak restaurant because it typically lacks flavor but nah, Tulum got it right. The only thing I didn't like is that I ordered the steak medium but it came out well done. Thankfully it was seasoned so well so I let them slide. I also feel like if the place does not specifically specialize in steak then you cannot be too picky. My friend had the salmon tacos and oxtail tacos. She said they slid on those oxtail tacos and gives them a 10 but can pass on ordering the salmon tacos ago. I don't eat oxtail so I can't give my opinion there. The ambiance was pretty loud! Lots of birthday celebrations and a fire performer. Definitely not the spot if you're looking for more of a quiet date. I appreciate the staff for sitting us promptly at our reservation time and having what appeared to be a lot of security. I'll be back! read more
