Our reservations were at 6:30pm and it wasn't much of a crowd. However it was packed by the time we left. We had one drink and it was plenty for our tolerance. It was just a nice way for moms to get out and enjoy some girl time. The food was quick, although they constantly try to upsell you with other things along the way. Then two random women were seated right next to us it seemed like they knew another customer who had a connection with the manager, because they were clearly treated differently. We ordered at the same time as everyone around us, yet they received their food and drinks while my drink didn't arrive until after everyone had already finished eating. Meanwhile, those two women got both their drinks and food before me. The food itself tasted rushed and underseasoned. We were there to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, but the vibe was completely off just rap/club music in English, nothing festive at all. It felt more like a random club than a place to celebrate. At that point, we paid and left, headed to the BeltLine, and ended up finding a spot with much better food and music. I definitely wouldn't come back. Absolutely love the ambience and scenery. The decor was absolutely beautiful. It's very low-key and dim. So I had to make sure to put my flash on for my food so you could see the exquisiteness. I decided to get the cilantro garlic chicken with rice and broccolini. Recommendation of the amazing Bartender I meant named K. He made an amazing spicy margarita that definitely gave me to pick me up The chicken was definitely tender, and I absolutely loved That when the waitress came, she seared butter over my chicken, which made it more juicy I also recommended two people the mango spicy margarita that K made and they loved it as well. A bit overpriced, but fun. Feels like a vacation complete with dancers and firey food dishes and drinks. They have items that you can order for groups, and they serve and even sear some of their specials at the table. Beware of parking fees. however. You will have to pay 20-30 bucks to park in their lot on the weekends. To be honest, this is one of the things I hate most about Atlanta. It's an unnecessary and unfortunate price of socializing in a city that should be more welcoming to its patrons. I have been to Tulum before for an after party, which it gets nicely and lively at night with good music, but this was the first time I went there to eat. The ambiance is semi-classy, as it was decorated nicely and has some cute booths. I would say it's somewhere in between a casual and fancy place. The food itself is on the pricey side but I am very happy with what I ordered. I had seen great reviews on the snapper bites so I went with that for my main dish with a large side of the Brussel sprouts. Both were delicious and very filling, as I was struggling to finish these! The snapper bites were seasoned and fried to perfection and had a little kick to them. The only downside is that they were on the salty side. The Brussel sprouts were cooked well with a little crisp and had a nice sweet (maybe maple) glaze on them. I was very content with the meal, although these two items alone came out to $35 without tax or tip which is on the high end, especially for being an appetizer and side dish. The main dishes are about $30-50 each. They have a fairly extensive cocktail / drink menu, which includes some mocktails as well. My friend got the guava piña colada, which she really liked, but noted it was on the sweet side. Other notes: I really appreciate our waitress as she was very patient as I figured out what to order, constantly checked on us, and frequently refilled my water. Parking is annoying. They have $20 self-park or $30-40 valet parking. The restaurant charges for parking - $40 for "valet" in the front lot and $20 for self parking on the back. Tulum is nicely decorated and the service was great. I like that they had a good variety of drink options and mocktails. I chose a strawberry jalepeno lemonade mocktail and added tequila because I'm grown. There's a lot of options that sounded good so I liked that our server was patient with all of my questions. I ultimately chose the pasta and added salmon. I wish the salmon was topped with a little more spices but the portion was large. I also tried the crab dip and queso, which my friends ordered as appetizers and they were good as well. Everyone enjoyed their meals from the spicy Caesar salad to the oxtail tacos. The Saturday night dancer was just ok. If a couple or a group was performing, I think the show would have been something more to see. I think the hype outweighs the experience, way too costly for a Saturday night- BUT the staff are super cool from the parking attendant to the hosts to the waitstaff, and the food was a 10/10 for me. I had the spicy caesar- a lil too spicy for my taste, I would recommend customizing your heat level. I eat very very spicy food but i didn't care for it in the salad. But it's a delicious salad, I recommend it. For apps, we had the crab dip and the Trio (salsa, queso, guac)- sooooo good, I recommend both. They charged for extra chips. I had a margarita- it was a ok. Not worth $14, but not bad. Now how are you serving latin coastal cuisine with no beer on tap? Side note, this place is packed, packed, with women- no dudes! The only men were the staff and like 3 guys on a date. I think they need to market to more men for the single ladies, starting with one or two draft beer options. They say there is a dress code but several people were decked in Nike tech joggers, hoodies, sneakers. You can split up your checks, and we were able to exceed the 90 minute seating limit- again very professional, kind, and engaged staff here. This restaurant is well managed. Came here on a Thursday night and this place is always a vibe. Buckhead is lucky to have this little gem here. We stopped by and sat at the bar, grabbed a few drinks and then decided to get some food to share. We decided to get their fajitas and their portions were extremely large. The plate we got had both steak and chicken and while pricey, you get what you paid for. At about $50 or so, there was plenty of protein and plenty of the fixings, the rice, beans guac etc. I was a little turned off however by how the fajitas came out though. Typically I'm used to strips of meat and these came out shredded which I wasn't too fond of. Had it been more traditional I would have probably rated them 5 stars. First things first, Tulum is beautifully designed. Spacious seating and I couldn't take my eyes off of the chandelier. I sat at the bar because it's long and the chairs are high and the bar staff give optimal attention and it's a great spot to people watch and start up conversations. Plus I recall a television. I believe I went on a Wednesday so the restaurant was fairly quiet with roughly 5 separate diners scattered throughout. That strip that Tulum is on has 2-3 other restaurants. It should really become a destination stroll where folks can bar hop and create a vibe in the area Anyway....i think I was expecting more from the menu of a place so wonderfully named and designed. We found the menu limited and not imaginative. And even if you just want to stick to the basics, you have to make them really well. Although my fajita entree was huge, the flavors were forgettable. The drinks, though eagerly made with good intentions-tasted like the bartenders needed more training in cocktail creation. I came here for a birthday dinner. I wouldn't patronize here otherwise. Everything is overpriced since the restaurant experience is underwhelming. Now we were seated on the inside, so maybe the experience is different from the outside. But it just didn't give the luxury experience they've priced themselves to be. I'm just not sure how or why my partner and I spent $200+ here (including $20 self-parking in a cramped and dark lot), except to celebrate a colleague who ended up not liking his food anyways and had to send it back to the kitchen. Also, prepare yourself for automatic gratuity that allegedly doesn't go to the wait staff, who will then encourage you to tip even more. Now, the food isn't terrible, but it definitely didn't leave a positive mark. It fulfilled the need to eat, but it wasn't anything indulgent. It's just overwhelmingly overpriced for things you can make at home rather easily. I have no issue spending at a restaurant, but it has to be on things I can't necessarily recreate or make better. This place is the typical ATL boughetto restaurant scam that you have to watch for, priced for a higher end experience but unfortunately not delivering it. It sells a dream on Instagram but the reality doesn't match. A man and a woman drunkenly went into the bathroom together while we were there and the staff seemingly just let it happen..... real classy. I visited Tulum Kitchen and Bar during the Christmas holiday in 2024 after hearing great things from a friend. I had passed by a few times before but never felt the need to stop in--until now. The appetizer portions were surprisingly generous, and both the guacamole and salsa were excellent. The atmosphere was lively, with an entertainer walking around, dancing, and performing impressive fire tricks that kept the energy high throughout the evening. While the menu didn't completely win me over--the enchiladas, in particular, missed the mark--my friend couldn't stop raving about his fried snapper and thoroughly enjoyed it. With its inviting outdoor bar and prime location, I can easily see this spot being a go-to destination during the summer months. If you visit during Happy Hour, I highly recommend the specials or trying the Angry Latina--it's definitely worth it! Also the bar makes a proper drink each time which I really liked! read more

I was expecting something bigger, and I couldn't really taste the alcohol. I also ordered the pork sliders ($15). You get three, and they were good--also sweet.
