The food is very good the service is not. That pretty much sums up this place. As far as the food goes, it's quite good. Good flavor, the chicken is moist, breading is crunchy and not too thick. You can customize the level of spice. The Southerner sandwich was huge and very tasty. The side of Mac & Cheese was equally as tasty. Homemade, cheesy and I really like the thicker corkscrew pasta. Well done. As to the service, there is a general lack of awareness with the wait staff. They are super friendly, but they don't seem to be motivated to do even the basics tenets of their job. We were seated outside fairly quickly. It was lunchtime, place is about half full. We waited 10 mins and no one came to get our drink order. Servers were milling about inside so we finally went in and asked if we had to order at the counter or if someone would take our order. The entire meal no one came to check to see if drinks needed a refill. We had to go ask for them. We ordered desserts but they never came. This was our first visit for my family of 4. The waiter was great! He asked if it was our first visit and then offered us a delightful platter of samples to try the different sauces and chicken spices. It was a great aspect of this restaurant and it was thoroughly enjoyable to try everything before we decided to every restaurant should do this honestly. Now that this place has been open for a few years, the crowds have finally settled down. Before, we could never sit inside, always had to be drive thru and even then the lines were crazy busy. When we want to be bad and crave chicken, this is our go to. Their jumbo chicken tenders are consistently freshly cooked to perfection, crunchy, tender and oh so juicy and dipping it in their specialty comeback sauce, were always in heaven. Their fries are crisp but if they're not hot, it's a bit chewy and could be a little overdone, just my opinion. Their Mac n cheese is creamy, white cheese that is good, I thought it use to be better but I still prefer these 2 options than their slaw and collard greens. I love this chicken when they get my order right. I come through the drive thru on a regular basis, and now they ask you to tip them on the order, which I do. My expectation is that then it's your responsibility to make sure my order is correct. They used to be on top of things but now they are slipping. Can't tell you how many times I ask for pickles and they charge me for them but don't put them in the bag. Staple the bag shut and are busy so I drive off. I guess I'm going to have to check before leaving, then go back inside to get them, which completely negates the quick drive thru service. Todays order came with the pickles put in the bag with out a cover on them and the 4 tiny pickles were laying in the bottom of the bag. Ordered ranch and got their Wayback sauce. Ono of these are major issues but I drive 20 minutes home after picking this up so going back isn't an option. Great casual sit down dining experience with table service (not just a drive thru!) for the spicy chicken lover. This has become a regular place for casual date nights with my husband. He loves their fried chicken, I love the Lil' O.G. sandwich. We both stay a little low on the heat scale but love that they have spicier options. We both love the potato salad and chocolate toffee pecan pie. He isn't a fan of pickles in general and I am not usually but I love the ones served on the sandwich and with the chicken. He has from time to time enjoyed a Paloma with his meal and I love their sweet tea. In the early days of the pandemic when they were pick up only we had tried the chicken fingers as a family but my then teenagers were not fans and while my husband and I liked them we weren't wild about them. I was glad we decided to try other things without the kids! The restaurant is pretty busy on Friday nights as is the neighboring restaurant which can make parking for dine in eating a challenge but they seem to always have spots available for pickup. We had been having some minor service issues each time, nothing to keep us from coming back but enough to ponder a 3 star rating, including attempts by the host to sit us in weird places when there are plenty of better seats available and running out of drinks (not good in a restaurant serving spicy food) because the waiter was busy at the next table chatting up the pretty teenage girls but we lucked out one night and got to sit in Chelsea's section and she was so amazing I settled on a 4 star, made sure to tip her well, and we'll be asking for her section from this point on. read more

I drove to Lamar from Cedar Park once a week for Tumble22's delicious hot chicken in pre-pandemic times. Now that there's a location five minutes from my house, you'd think I would be there daily. And I probably would, but eating that much hot *anything* isn't great for the digestive system. But enough about that; let's get to the review. Still, I've gone to the new location enough to confidently say that the chicken at this location, while still very good, is not as good as the chicken I used to get at the original location. I'm sure the recipes are identical, and I can't quite put my finger on *how* it's different; all I know is it doesn't taste quite as good for me. The place's vibe is like a fun sports bar, and the service is very fast, if not consistently accurate. My order was wrong the last two times I went, so they told me they'd fix it. Which they did, or at least half of it. Half of the order still needed to be corrected. I gave up and ate what they brought me because I didn't feel like waiting around to see if they would eventually get the whole thing right. I would caution anyone who enjoys a little heat in their food to get the medium hot chicken (called Dang Hot on the menu). There are two heat levels above that one. Cluckin Hot is very hot. Stupid Hot? It's right there in the name. I tried Stupid Hot one time and thought my stomach was going to collapse in on itself. I'll never do that again. read more

As of mid-August 2020, I was one of the first people to actually get to use their sit-down restaurant. Sparkling clean and properly spaced with empty tables for social distancing. Masks are of course still required. Tried their spicy hot chicken sandwich (excellent) and their just-as-good 'wimpy' (aka not spicy) quarter chicken. Generous portions with chicken so tender I'm sure it's been brined. Nice crispy coating, and served piping-hot. Extra points for their superb purple cabbage 'slaw and friendly service. Next time I hope to save room for a little pie... This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Had the pleasure of stopping in today for lunch at this little gem. The service was amazing, they brought out a tasting tray since it was our first time. Everyone we dealt with from start to finish was extremely pleasant and informative. The food was delicious! We go to Costco at least twice a month and so I've seen this place more than I can remember but have never stopped by, apparently I've been missing out for years now. We had the schezuan fries which were delicious and then a Cobb salad with the 2nd level spice chicken on it. Not a big spice person, but, I would say to kick it one step up on the heat level from what you think. The mixed drink (Tom Daly ... basically a alcohol Arnold Palmer) was also pretty good and reasonably priced. Kids liked the wimpy chicken and the Mac. On the down side, the parking lot was a mess (a bunch of spots are marked for pick up, others are numbered for apparently no reason .... What is going on here?). Additionally, our table was really sticky and even after I asked for it to be wiped down, it wanted to hold onto my arms when I put them down on it. Lastly, our waitress was a pretty slow coming to the table, delivering items, and never checked up on us (had to ask the manager for ketchup).
