The service was great. Our waitress was really nice. The restaurant was very clean. The food, however, was severely lacking. This restaurant seems like the product of a research firm recognizing hot chicken is an underserved market with an opportunity for growth. I was in the area on their second day of opening so I pulled up to the drive through window. I was second in line for lunch. The order taker was wearing a mask and gloves. As quickly as possible I read the menu and decide after a few questions, to order the bone in four piece family pack. Moved up to the pick up window but waited for the truck in front of me to get his food. Except he didn't so he pulled over to the side parking spaces to wait. I confirmed my order and was told to pull into the same parking area. The truck behind was told the same. It takes time to cook the chicken and I had no problem waiting. It was maybe 12 minutes and a guy came out and gave the first truck his food. Then he came to my car and delivered mine. Off I went to get home and eat. Unpacking my goodies and found they forgot the slaw that was to come with it. (This is the reason for 4 stars). The chicken was delicious. Outside crunchy. Inside moist. I ended up eating two pieces and saving two for later. I warmed them up in the oven and still have crunch. In Cedar Park, at the intersection of the 183A Frontage road and Whitestone, a new restaurant replaced PDQ. "Tumble 22 Hot Chicken" is a new Fried Chicken experience. Hot Chicken is very popular in the South/MidWest and gaining popularity all over. The spice levels are cooked into the chicken (no dipping sauce) and can cause severe sweating as you advance through the choices. But don't worry, you can have the wimpy style if you can't take the heat The flavor is exceptional. I specifically love the crunchy crust with the tender juicy meat. The breast is always a challenging piece to cook for any restaurant. T22 still manages to prepare nice and juicy breast meat with a tasty crunchy batter. I ordered the 8 piece for the family and a "OG Sandwich" spice level 2. The Sandwich had a nice heat to it and the coleslaw on top help to calm the flavor. Nice big chunks of meat. The sides can use a little work. I tried the greens, tender but not much flavor. The Mac and Cheese was nice, the white cheese sauce got very thick by the time I arrived home. packaging). Before you head out to dine, make sure you have masks with you. They are not allowing customers without masks. We went in for lunch. This was our first time dining at Tumble22. We ordered the "Mo hot" spice levels for our chicken. The spice level was just right for us. The Cobb salad was great too and we ordered the chocolate cream pie for dessert, the quantity was too much even for three of us to finish after the chicken and salad. It was a good experience. Just a couple things, we had to wait quiet a long time for our food to arrive. And, also the servers don't ask for refills, you'll have to call them to get a refill of soda/iced tea. read more

We've tried a few different tumble 22 locations and this was our first time trying the cedar park location. The food came out practically in seconds which we were shocked by. The chicken was delicious, hot, and crispy. I'm a big fan of tumble 22 fries but this location seemed to have different fries that reminded me of McDonald's fries. We also came during happy hour which wasn't really advertised. We had to ask about happy hour and ask for the happy hour menu which was through a QR code not readily accessible to us. We also got the hot spice level on our chicken and didn't feel like it was spicy at all. read more

The standout items are the Dirty Fries and the Dirty Mac and Cheese. The beer cheese nicely offsets the spice in the chicken. The chicken sandwich is huge. Very soft bun goes well with the sandwich. We also enjoyed the bites. We got them in Mo' Hot spice level and cannot imagine what the higher spice levels must be like! The chicken seems high quality and is juicy. The servers are super friendly, but the restaurant seems a bit understaffed. I'd also recommend they turn the thermostat up a couple degrees. We also got many sides, here's my review for each of them: Chicken: got the mo' hot level, and it was so hot that my lips started tingling! After waiting for close to 45 minutes for our food, we finally decided to leave. That's when the waiter said their tickets weren't printing, which I called bullshit. A lot of other people were getting their food. I really think our waiter/bar tender guy messed up and never got the order in. This is when it would have been nice to hear a "I'm so sorry" or "Is there anything we can do to make it better?" Nope, nothing not from the waiter nor the shift manager. Bad customer service run amok! Anyway, I don't think I'll be coming here anytime soon. I hate bad service especially when there's another chicken place just down the street. Had heard a lot about Tumble 22 but hadn't had a chance to visit until yesterday. I was not disappointed, great crispy chicken sandwich. The Mac N Cheese is some of the best I've had. Coleslaw was ok, nothing crazy, but that's just my opinion. They have heat levels to their sauce, I got the hot (second lowest) and honestly forgot because I never tasted any heat. Best chicken I have had since I lost my mom. No one can fry chicken like a momma can to most of us, so if you are looking for the next best thing to rock your taste buds you should give them a try! This was my second visit and I took the time to go in and I'm glad I did. I enjoyed a glass of Austin's own Blackberry Meridian Hive meade with a 3 piece chicken, side of potato salad and beans. I got one piece original wimpy and two pieces hot. Both were outstanding, but hot was the winner. Perfect flavor and not really hot to where your mouth was in need of Lonestar 911 to save it (well Rob Lowe can save me any day but that's besides the point). About that . Two thumbs up, hats off and a handshake to the mastermind behind some good eats. Sides..well I'm not a fan of egg in potato salad but besides that, it was a little bland. Beans just average for me but absolutely still enjoyable. Overall I think they both need a little more south texas swag mixed in to elevate flavor. Mac n cheese is on the list to try next. Now that we live in CA, whenever I see fried chicken, I instantly long for Tumble 22. If you need chicken in a hurry, DO NOT go to canes or other fast food places. Disgusting. Trust me. The service was very minimal, a waiter came by after 10 minutes of us, sitting there and ask if we've been served, we said no, and then they proceeded to serve another table. Another 10 minutes go by and we finally get served, the server was very rude and the food was alright, not as good as usual.
