Just had lunch there, great stuff. It's a pretty simple menu - you're gonna get a pile of chicken with two sides or one of two sandwiches. The chicken comes out super quick and is clearly freshly fried with your choice of hot sauce (unless you choose wimpy). I had a three piece (1/4 white or dark + one extra leg or wing) at the Fire in the Hole spice level. If you're a chili-head you might be disappointed at their max heat but I found it to be a nice steady burn with plenty of good flavor. Just be prepared for grease running down your fingers so keep them away from your eyes. I had the collard greens and slaw, somehow hoping to offset the health nightmare that is the fried chicken. The greens had a good flavor and yes they're soupy. The slaw was standard. I heard the mac n cheese was quite good. There will be a sad piece of bread at the bottom of your pile of chicken, more of a grease sponge. I did not attempt to eat it. Great spice flavor and tender chicken! We hit this spot while visiting Austin and we're glad we did. The portions are perfect and very filling. I got the 1/4 white (hot), while my friends got the 1/4 dark (wimpy) and jumbo tenders (hot). I really enjoyed the cut of their fries since I do like mine on the crispier side. While their chicken was good, the taste wasn't super memorable or anything I haven't tasted before. The hot flavor is an enjoyable amount of spice, though I would want to try the spicy next time for an extra kick and maybe a little sweat. Some of the best chicken in town but I've had my evening ruined by their online ordering system one too many times. There is an empty field that their system tries to force you to complete but the drop-down menu is empty of selections. I somehow manage to bypass it and use ApplePay, which seemingly goes through successfully, but I'm never given a confirmation page not sent a text or email. Don't even bother calling the restaurant. They NEVER answer the phone. I saw that another reviewer had the same problem. PLEASE fix your online ordering system. I'm from Nashville and I was curious to see how they make "Nashville hot chicken, Texas style...." I would give the sandwich a 5/10. It was good enough, but not sure I would crave this place. If you've ever been to Hattie B's in Nashville then you know what I mean. The flavors were just okay and nothing that sets them apart from other fried chicken sandwiches. Their fries aren't good either. Mac & cheese was nothing to be super excited over either. Not bashing T22, but just giving my honest opinion. We also just went today for curbside and it was sort of a mess. It should be better organized. They have a small area for cars to pull up to the restaurant, but there were about 6-7 cars from their front door to Burnet Rd. It was backing up traffic and was sort of chaotic and slow. They should definitely get a better system like other restaurants. Maybe place a sign at parking spots directing your customers to txt the restaurant to let them know you have arrived. This has been our go-to spot for the past couple of weeks! The chicken is so flavorful and the sides are amazing! We started out getting the chicken sandwiches, but recently we have been getting the family pack and it's so worth it. We always have enough food for at least 4 full meals...talk about bang for your buck! They have a great online system, but ordering in-person (through their COVID safe drive though system) and picking up is pretty easy too! The manager and workers are super friendly too. Great place! The food was good. The reason for the 2 star review is because the service was atrocious. I understand that we are in the time of Covid - people get sick and can't come to work.. but if you don't have enough servers, don't seat all the tables ‍. Not only was she welcoming people, but she was also putting together to-go orders and bussing tables. After being seated was another story. We waited ~20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us. We put in our drink order and food order at the same time - the drinks never came. When our food came out we requested our drinks again. I ordered something from the bar and by the time it got to me the ice was melted and it was a watered down mess. "Cheap stiff drinks" because 75% of it is water - save your money (and $7.50 a drink isn't cheap ). At one point we looked around the restaurant and half of the patrons had no drinks or food and the other half waiting on food. There was nothing on anyone's table. I would definitely recommend the food here.. but maybe only get it to-go? Don't come if you're thirsty or anticipating a well put together operation. read more

This is the best hot chicken I've ever had. The "Hot" level was plenty of spice, so unless you like things really spicy I'd be careful about going any hotter. The prices are totally reasonable for the amount of food you get. They also took the time to make delicious sides, which is always an under appreciated but important touch. Tip: If you get a hot 2 piece plate, let one of the pieces sit on top of the bread for a while so it soaks up the spice. It will be one of the best pieces of bread you've ever eaten. Literally the chicken came stacked on a piece of white bread and the bread had melted away in the thick pool of grease on the plate. The sides have no flavor except tons of salt. Nashville Hot is right! We checked out the Burnet location and it has some awesome fried chicken, the food is outstanding. However, the service was a little spotty for sure, we had to wait a good while before a waiter finally came up, then our ticket showed $27 at first, but after running our card the bill showed $32. DELISH! Recommended by one of our Uber drivers who seemed to know his fried chicken, and we were not disappointed. After a long day, we ended up ordering kind of close to closing time, but we were still treated with fantastic service from a wonderful server. While I can't remember his name, I'll remember how kind he was and one quote he said - "Sometimes, you have to love people a little more than they love themselves that day." Chicken here is delicious. I was pleasantly surprised how it had a somewhat "cleaner" taste than what I was expecting. Not as greasy and overwhelming as some other chicken that I've had before, but in a really good way. I got mild because I'm a bit of a weenie, but nonetheless, that was some good chicken. The mac and cheese was the best that I had had during my entire trip to Austin. Not overly cheesy or thick, but a perfect pairing to the chicken. A great meal, but I think that one time is enough for me to enjoy. It was quite good, but maybe lacking the wow factor that would make me running to come back.
