Pretty eclectic place that someone told us had good food. Open 7 to 3. Some of the outside furniture could use repair. Lunch is about a dozen uniquely made sandwiches made on artisan bread or wrap named after dogs in the pictures. The Banjo was turkey, spinach and mayo on artisan bread. The Bella was roast beef, boursin cheese, with a tomato wrap (it was delicious). They have gourmet ice coffee and hot teas or bottled cold drinks. Stopped in to this cute place for a latte. The location was perfect. The service was wonderful, the employees were very nice. The ambience and environment were great, but the lattes didn't live up to our expectations. We ordered two lattes and were not very pleased with how they came out. The lattes tasted more like regular iced coffee you could make at home. There was no taste of syrup in them, and they just didn't taste right. Honestly I wouldn't recommend getting any sort of espresso from this coffee shop. read more

Loved the whole vibe of the place. This is the best store for coffee, quick breakfast and sandwiches. We visited this place every morning on our trip to Yellowstone, one of the places which opens up early compared to the rest. Is a pretty nice coffee shop. Have to wear a mask inside. Lots of variety of coffees. Coffee was delicious. There is outdoor seating. It is a little messy appearing inside, maybe a little disheveled. Overall, I enjoyed the coffee and hanging out outside. The bathrooms are clean. If you need a quick place to grab a cup of coffee and good service I recommend you go here. The prices are decent street parking everywhere. I think they have food too but we didn't get any. Not sure about their store hours but it's close to everything in Gardiner. read more

Solid coffee. Very slow service (they had one girl working there alone on a Saturday morning). Breakfast burrito was mid. Had decent ingredients, but the wrong proportions and a sad tortilla. This place is just fine for a small tourist town like Gardiner, but don't expect anything besides an average experience. read more

Pretty decent choice for the limited options in Gardiner/ right outside of Yellowstone. The gluten free bread didn't fall apart, and the cashier was nice enough to verify that the gluten free bread can go in the toaster that the other bread has been in. I had a egg, cheese, and ham sandwich. Fairly priced. Lots of cheese! Two thin slices of deli ham (that's what it looked like at least). It was a good start to the day. A few tables and a little bar, facing out, with a big window. There are various books scattered throughout the bookshelves that seem to center around Yellowstone mainly. Quaint... which I think describes most of the restaurants and stores in this little town. read more

The vanilla chai I ordered was absolutely delicious! I was slightly disappointed with the yogurt parfait, but it was still edible. Came in for lunch and coffee. Their espresso drinks were pretty good- i tasted the huckleberry latte which wasn't too sweet. Our party of three each got a sandwich. Stopped in to do some journaling while indulging in a breakfast sandwich and coffee. The journaling was great, but unfortunately the rest was just eh. I got an everything bagel with 2 eggs and cheese - the bagel was delicious. But the rest was thin and oily for some reason, like a slice of cheese pizza that you need to dab with a napkin. The coffee on the other hand was good, and I liked that I could fill my own mug - however, they ran out while we were there and the staff didn't seem to keen on making more. The location is perfect, the name and the building is very cute, but the food was just subpar. Thankfully the prices were very good! Also, they were playing angsty, early 2000's punk music, so I got a kick out of that! read more

We had a hot mocha and a breakfast burrito. I originally wanted the ice blended mocha but they ran out. They also didn't have smoothies. But nonetheless what we ordered was good. The cashier was adorably sweet. Warm smile. They also come out to serve you if you sit outside. We saw some elk across the street this morning too. Mother and baby. This place is cute. Nice ambience. This is a tired and dirty establishment. We went in for coffee and to look at the books. We walked in and no one greeted us or even looked up really. We were told no espresso and we could go down the street if we wanted any. We hung out for about 10 minutes looking at books and then left. Weird place with cranky employees. read more

The tourists go to Yellowstone Perk but the locals go to Tumbleweed, and for good reason. The food and the coffee/espresso drinks are fresher and better, the prices are 1/2 of the tourist trap, and the staff are much friendlier too. read more

I would have given 0 stars if possible, we ordered chicken sandwiches , it tasted like a stale food, chicken is bland, avocados which they served were rotten and they didn't care to see that before serving. Most importantly one of the sandwich they served had leftover bread and the veggies are not fresh. I would never visit this again and would recommend the same. read more

I tried two coffee places during my stay in Gardiner and this place was the best of the two. I ended up coming here four times during my visit for their White Chocolate Mocha. The family and I dropped in on this slice of San Francisco-ish hipster cafe in small-town Gardiner, MT in North Yellowstone. Open as early as 7am, Tumbleweed caters to Yellowstone visitors (and locals alike). The decor composed of sofas, well-kept tables, and assortment of books lined against the walls is both comforting and intriguing. Add on the delicious coffees plus assortment of amazing sandwiches + wraps to breakfast burritos + house-made cupcakes, and I'm sold. I'm pretty sure I could spend hours poring over the many Yellowstone travel books with a coffee in-hand and a burrito in the other. The recs: 1. The breakfast burrito: HUGE and only ~$5. Eggs, hashbrown, salsa, cheese, and ham all wrapped up in a spinach tortilla...it's everything one could one ask for in a b-fast. 2. Coffee with organic sugar syrup. 3. Was really excited because our Airbnb was RIGHT next door to here. Unfortunately during our whole stay they were not offering hot drinks which is really disappointing because it was cold while we were there. I only ended up getting the fruit parfaits a couple mornings and they were very good, especially for the price. Reasoning for 3 star is because for some reason each time it took 30+ min just for fruit/yogurt parfaits. (No exaggeration) read more

Nice little spot for coffee and breakfast. The guy taking our order was great, good menu with vegetarian options, and good cold brew. Just be sure you're not in a hurry. We intended to make a fast stop for coffee and breakfast burritos to-go and ended up waiting almost 30 min for our food. They have one cook using an electric griddle. She was working like crazy to get food out. I could see our order was up, and the other woman set them down and left them there on the counter. I finally had to ask for them. She just thought they were part of a big order but if I had not been watching, I could have been there for another 5 - 10min. and had cold burritos. If we return to Gardiner, we will definitely stop here again to enjoy a relaxing, delicious breakfast among the fun book collection. read more

Sorry to have to downgrade. I realize the season isn't offically open, but dead plants and broken furniture on porch. Inside some tired looking brownies were the only baked goods. Coffee ok. Burrito quite good. Bagel and cream cheese what you would expect. My real bugaboo though were the chipped plates. I mentioned to gal behind counter that she might want to toss and her reply was they all look like that. I am tempted to hit the thrift shop and send them a case of dishes. Yikes. read more

Since addresses are practically non-existent in Gardiner, MT (check out Google Maps if you don't believe me), just go all the way to the far west end of the main shopping strip on Park Street or simply ask one of the locals. GSG is a gift shop with a lot of key chains, bumper stickers, knick-knacks and cute children's t-shirts. Next door, like all the other souvenir shops in Gardiner, is a little cafe selling sweets and coffee. GSG's cafe seems to be the only cafe in town to actually have locals in it drinking their coffees while passing countless hours of the day away (most likely gossiping about own townies and homely, outdoorsy tourists). I recommend Yellowstone Gifts & Sweets down the street but both stores have different items for sale unlike many other tourist towns.

It was great. On Monday I had the quesadilla with barbicoa beef. The meat was excellent, but the bottom side of my quesadilla was soggy, not crispy at all and wet when it was served to me. On Thursday my husband had the Dizzy buffalo burger with the cheese curds, he liked it. On Monday he had the Westerner sandwich, he said it wasn't great. He ended up only having a couple of bites. I'm not sure what the difference was, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that hopefully they were just having an off night. Round out the two visits at 3 stars.
