The service here is great, friendly and attentive. They have a soup and salad bar as well as a regular menu and a Mexican dish menu. The space is full of cool antiques/memorabilia including some WWI and WWII items and pictures. The restaurant feels like a diner, complete with booths. It seems a bit dated, but I think that adds to the charm/vibe they are going for. We came from lunch and ordered the guacamole with salsa and chips to start. The guac was good, but the salsa was absolutely delicious. Once I tasted it I regretted not ordering one of the Mexican dishes. I had a chicken salad sandwich which was tasty, fresh and a decent portion, but nothing special. It is exactly what you would expect and I enjoyed it, I just wish the bread were toasted. I was excited to finally get some good food after eating in the park for a few days. I was starving and wanted something hearty. I ordered the chicken fried steak which was about $20 + tip. It was very good. Seasoned perfectly. The sides were lacking a bit but honestly? I was starving and food always tastes better when you're hungry. Food was just bland.... we asked if the burger meat was fresh and not frozen and they said it was fresh made. It was a grey frozen meat paddy with no flavor or seasoning. The fry's were rubbery and not cooked all the way. Waiter was extremely hard to understand and only came back to our table once to bring our bill and never asked if he could refill our drinks. I hate when they hand you the machine to run your cc and fill out a tip starting at 25%. We did not leave a 25% tip. If you've been into Yellowstone, you'll know the food there is terrible. Stopped at this place on our way out and it was like having a 5 star meal. We decided on eating dinner a little earlier than normal so stopped in here. Restaurant was very clean and walls covered in fishing and country Knick knacks. We were seated straight away. The waiter came quickly and delivered our drinks and took our order. Food came out in the normal amount of time. I had the patty melt and wife had French dip. Both were pretty good. This is my favorite restaurant for Breakfast , they have the best Blueberry pancakes .. and a short stack is only $8.95 a nice side of Bacon and breakfast for 2 is right at 20 bucks .. We park near by and came for lunch. There was a girl who helped us she had great customer service. She was very attractive and nice. I ordered a bison burger and my husband ordered a regular beef but. We got plenty of water and our food came fast. The order was right. I ordered hot sauce I got chalula. It tasted spicier then normal but it was way better. I'm not sure if this was their own hot sauce but it was really good. My bison burger was good I would actually recommend getting it. This is a cool find! It's fun to look at the memorability on the walls. Mineli was our server and she was friendly and checked on us several times. The prices were reasonable and they had a nice variety. I had the chicken salad. I was surprised how big it was. The chicken salad was perfect! It came with melon and was like a dessert for me! Service was really good! No issue with that... it was just the food itself. I had the chicken parm and when it came out I was kind of taken aback. The sauce was water. Like literally water. They use spaghetti noodles (which i have no problem with whatsoever) there was just no flavor. It was so dry because the sauce... wasn't sauce the chicken was okay but it was super soggy because again... the water sauce. My mom got the open faced roast beef and said she could taste the beef going bad. She's usually not one to not finish her plate. She didn't eat a bite of the meat it was that off putting to her. Now the salad bar looked okay if that's your style. I'm sure maybe other dishes would be good, but I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for some pretty good food. Went for late afternoon lunch on Monday. Kitchy diner style decor was cute. They had a salad bar but produce didn't look fresh. We ordered a standard hamburger and bowl of beef stew. The menu stated a roll was included with the stew but I had to ask for it. The stew was hot and tasted OK. The roll was stale. The hamburger was inedible. Ordered coffee, it came cold and without sweeteners. When the waiter person finally came back I ordered breakfast, advised the coffee was cold and asked for sweeteners. He got me a new cup of coffee and walked away. It was from the same pot as the first cup, so was equally cold. To be fair, the waiter appeared to be working alone and had a few other tables with groups. I was not his focus. Once he did come back with my food, I told him to take the coffee off my ticket. We have meatball soup one night and ham and bean soup the second night. The meatball soup was delicious, but the ham and bean soup was just okay. We ordered Rocky Mountain trout, turkey dinner, son of a gun stew, and chili burger. The trout was light, healthy, but taste good. The wild rice tasted really delicious, full of flavor. The turkey dinner and chili burger were just okay. One friend really liked the stew, but the other really hated it. The stew was a little too sour for me, not enough beefy taste. However, this is the only place you can get a plate of good salad of your choice. read more

Even though I'm only giving it 3 stars, it's a nice restaurant and I'd definitely go back. The prices are expensive (everything in West Yellowstone, a tourist town, is expensive). The food is very consistent... but also pretty average for restaurant-quality food. However, it has that comforting feeling to it. Food-wise, anyone who has grown up or lived in the Midwest for some time will be reminded of their time there. The salad bar. Hot dinner plates. The sides. Sometimes it's just nice to get a dose of it again. So if that is what you want, then this is the place to go. Love this BBQ place feels very southern and tastes even better ! is a unicorn on the road for those who love smoked meat! All house made bbq sauces were amazing. Even the Carolina one was spot on! Got the brisket about made myself sick trying to eat it all it was soooooo delicious perfect amount of fat and crust !! Only complaint was no potato salad .
