We,ve dined in the Newport area for 4 years, we've also had the pleasure of traveling to Italy, Belgium, France and Greece. This was our first time here, our companions had been here before. The interior was busy and very noisy so we snagged a table outside. The evening was pleasant but I wish that the bench chairs were more comfortable. We shared nachos and salsa which was surprisingly tasty. Each person had a different dish: causa, lomo saltado, a pollada quesadilla, and a quinoa salad with chicken. All the orders were very good. For drinks we had a mojito, a Corona, a Modelo, and a Diet Coke. The service was pleasant and efficient. The check came to $150 for the four of us. At first glance, it looks like a typical restaurant, but once you walk inside you see it's a little oasis. The decor is unmatched---colorful and vibrant. Every detail is thought out and tasteful. It is a very inviting space that you will want to come back to. Alberto and Sebastian were the perfect dynamic duo of server and bartender. They were so friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed our time with them. They were personable, cared about our experience, and were proud of the restaurant. Service was awful for our party of 4. First, we sat there for 15 min with no service. Apps came out with no drinks 45 minutes later. We were almost done with our apps when drinks came out. Waitress said the ticket got lost... the worst part was tables which were seated after us kept getting drinks and food before us. The only positive was the food was tasty. I've heard nothing but amazing things about Pisco and Tequila and finally made it in with a friend and wow, it absolutely lived up to the hype. The vibe and décor are gorgeous and Alberto and Sebastian truly tied the whole experience together with their welcoming energy. Have the quinoa salad with shrimp! Healthy, yet substantial and so very packed with flavor. The quinoa has that same addictive lime sauce that you find in cerviche with a perfect crunch. The grilled shrimp had a unique blend of spices that gave them a punch but without heat. The lime margarita rounded things out for a lovely late afternoon with Bristol Harbor in the background. We tried this restaurant based on a recommendation from a friend, and we were impressed. It is a nicely appointed space with ample space and a decent-sized bar. Our server promptly sat us and spent much time explaining their menu. We started with some drinks (margaritas) and they were great. I had two which was not a good idea because they were strong but not overpowering. They were super flavorful. We had the guacamole and chips to start. The guacamole was freshly made and excellent, as were the chips served with it. The portion is small, so we ordered two for four people. Most people went with enchiladas for dinner, but I ventured out and tried a steak dish with a sunny side egg, french fries, and rice. It had a fabulous sauce as well. I really enjoyed this place! The location is prime, but still has plenty of parking. That already is worth its weight in gold. The service was super friendly, and they were even excited to know that we had had Peruvian food before. We had the chaufa and the papas relenas, along with some tacos. Our whole experience was so much fun. The bar drinks are awesome. My peach margarita in a piñata cup was one of the best I ever had. We ordered two different boats and had so much variety of food for five of us to try. We loved it all. If I had to pick a favorite, for me, it was probably the paella. A group was in there for a birthday and the servers made it so much fun. They also were very attentive to the toddler that was in our group. I would highly recommend the experience here. We were on a weeknight I would expect it gets pretty crowded. The servers were amazing. I don't know if they take reservations, but if they do, I would make one. read more

New Peruvian spot in Bristol! I'm glad this place opened up. Love the ambiance. We got the filet mignon limeno and the salmon pisco. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and was easily one of the best steaks I've had in a while. The chimichurri and plantains were delicious. The salmon was also quite good and paired well with the sauce. I got a side of chaufa rice, which was ok, but the fried yucca was very good. Bit pricey, but the portion sizes were big. Pisco & Tequila is an absolute gem! Incredibly delicious food, fun atmosphere, friendly staff. It's a real find. The menu has both Peruvian and Mexican dishes. All of the dishes we've tried from both have been fantastic. The Peruvian dishes are especially delectable, as good if not better than any on the west coast. Beef Anticuchos appetizer can serve as a light meal. Marinated and seared beef chunks served with blue potatoes and Peruvian corn. Pollado are two chicken thighs, marinated in an exotic mixture of herbs and spices. It's fabulous, you'll never look at chicken thighs the same way again! Loma Soltado is deliciously marinated and herbed beef chunks, similar to the Anticuchos appetizer. For side dishes consider the Chaufa Rice, stir fried with green onions and a dizzying mix of ginger and garlic, not at all greasy, just perfectly done. The entree portions are huge. Bring an appetite! On the Mexican side the enchiladas are top quality, rich, flavorful, with a side of red rice and excellent quality beans (not the usual paste stuff). On a recent visit a friend from Arizona, home of plenty of great renowned Mexican food, pronounced the Fajitas as the best she's ever had. New owners recently took over the restaurant and the menu has grown substantially. There are many new items on it we can't wait to try! The drink menu is equally fun and impressive. A long list of mixed drinks, cocktails, margaritas, as well as draft and bottled beers and wines. On a recent visit there were several Peruvian artisanal beers available. The two hard-core beer geeks at the table found them genuinely delicious. A 'Scottish Export Ale' tasted like an incredibly smooth, rich, malty lager, without a hint of bitterness or aftertaste. The atmosphere is fun, colorful murals on the walls, also with some outside seating overlooking the water. Overall Pisco & Tequila is a treasure. It's hard to find Peruvian food anywhere in New England, let alone superb quality like this. It also happens to have the best Mexican food outside of the major cities. It's a surprising find in little out-of-the-way Bristol RI. If this restaurant was in Boston it would be mobbed every night. read more

Dear Pisco & Tequila Team, I wanted to share my experience from our visit to your restaurant on Thursday night. While the atmosphere and the food are usually wonderful, unfortunately, this visit was less than satisfactory, and I feel it's important to let you know so that improvements can be made. When we arrived, the restaurant was only semi-packed, yet it seemed that only two staff members were running the entire show, including covering the bar and the front door. This situation clearly stretched the staff thin, and unfortunately, it affected the quality of service. Our appetizers took nearly 40 minutes to arrive, which felt like an excessive delay for a restaurant with a relatively small crowd. Additionally, the soup we ordered was so salty that it was inedible. While I appreciate that our waitress was very sweet and took it off the bill, it was disappointing to have such a negative experience with the meal. It seemed that the staff was doing their best, but managing the bar, door, and all tables with just two people was completely unfair to both them and the customers. I genuinely feel for the staff members as they were clearly overwhelmed. Given the circumstances, I'm unsure if I'll be returning. I hope this feedback can help the team better manage staffing levels in the future so that the quality of the experience can match the great potential of your restaurant. read more

A friend and I tried this place for the first time about one week ago as we were driving around looking for a place for dinner. I live fairly close so I should be ashamed to admit this, but I thought it was a new place. When I asked our server how long the restaurant had been open, she said, "About two years". I really need to get out more. I am giving four stars rather than five because the food was FANTASTIC but I do find quite a few menu items overpriced (chaufa/fried rice for $25-33???) We ordered from the Peruvian side of the menu; my friend ordered the salmon al pisco and I ordered the quinoa salad (shared) and shrimp soup/Chupe de Camarones. We both thought the food was stellar- who thought a quinoa salad could be that special! I will mention that they have chicha morada on the beverage menu which I was SO excited to see/have, but the server said they did not have any (I settled for passion fruit juice with a shot of my fav. alcohol- poor me). I will echo other reviewer's comments- ambiance is great (great wall art/mural) and server was great as well. Would I go back... probably. The food really is great, but the prices make it a "special" dinner place, at least in my categorization, so not someplace I would go when I am just craving a dinner out (which apparently I don't do often enough). read more

For appetizer, we had ceviche traditional which had nice vinegar and saltiness components that accompanied the fresh seafood. Entree was a nicely cooked steak, seasoned Peruvian style. They offered a pirri pirri sauce that added a good flavor and heat without changing everything. Overall, it was a good experience and food was good. First of all, as others have said the service is very attentive and warm. Thank you Jackie and Stephanie. We started with the grilled octopus and the fish ceviche. Both were very tasty. The octopus had an incredible chimichuri and spicy aioli sauce. The ceviche was nice and tangy with huge Peruvian corn. Very tasty. We shared an entree of filet mignon chunks with a fettuccine that had a nice creamy sauce. This was also very good with caramelized onions. The sauce in the fettuccine was absolutely silky. Went to Pisco and Tequila with my family that was visiting from Peru, for lunch. The waitress was very nice and accommodating to dietary requests. The food was delicious and with true Peruvian flavors. It tasted home cooked and with care. At the end of the meal, the chef came out and we all clapped, thanked him and congratulated him for the excellent meals he had prepared.
