In Santa Fe for 3 days and came here upon recommendation of a local. Came in at 6:45 on Saturday night and sat right down. Had the chili relleno-absolutely delicious! Also had a side of sautéed vegetables, also delicious. One caveat- I am from Virginia and am not an expert on Mexican food, but I know what tastes good! Service was good and price very reasonable. In the past, I have only had lunch here, it always seemed okay. This morning though, I was blown away by their specials menu featuring smoked duck hash and a gluten-free pumpkin waffle. There were other choices on the specials menu (A LOT, MANY, A HEAP, A SLEW), but, our choices were awesome. The hash was cooked perfectly, the poached eggs were on point and the waffle was divine. Not sure who got what cuz they insisted hers was buffalo although there was cheese on it , & none on my husband's. He said hers was much more flavorful. Burger buns toasted nicely. Sangria was boring & flavorless w/ no fruit except slice of lime. Skip it. Would prefer ice in my water & in daughter's lemonade. Servers are friendly & fast. I used to frequent this spot, the food is generally fresh and tasty. That being said, their point of sale system is terribly outdated, and even if you order the same thing every time it will likely vary in price. The workers are incompetent, can not maintain consistent price points. I've been charged as much as $25 dollars for 2 handheld burritos, which is supposed to cost about $12. Management needs to invest in a better point of sale system, they are always crowded so I know that they can easily afford it, seems incredibly lazy. I probably will not be returning. read more

One of our favorite spots in Santa Fe. Local and casual. Always several interesting specials on the board. My husband and I both adore the chicken piccata so it's difficult to forgo that and try something new. I did stray on our last visit and tried the mussels and pasta. Pasta was excellent but very disappointed in the mussels. There was probably only one that was plump and flavorful. The rest were small and overcooked. Maybe they got a bad batch. Did I mention the desserts are awesome? Save room! We often buy a whole pie when we have to bring a dessert to share at a dinner party. They don't always have the tiramisu so get it if they do. Loved the classic New Mexican food as one of the only late night restaurants in town. The vibe with the string lights was perfect. Have to say there was a pretty awkward moment when they brought out the soup and after several bites and perplexing thoughts they announced it was the wrong one. They came back with the right soup and insisted they couldn't let us finish the first one... which just comes across as suspicious. This little cafe was found on accident, as we were driving back from The Jemez on Friday afternoon. The food was so delicious and fresh. The Mahi Mahi tacos were to die for. As were the fresh squash with fresh corn & fresh mushrooms. My husband had the grass-fed rib eye and was so tender & flavorful.. you will not be disappointed. Went for breakfast. Cute outside seating. Food was delicious, but they made a big error on husband's meal. He had discussion with person taking order about no gluten and no dairy. They assisted him in ordering but them gave him a hash brown (made with cheese). They were nice about it, and luckily he didn't get too sick. If you don't have dietary issues it's a great place. Good great spectacular food. This was not a touristy place. You could just feel the energy around you of families and friends. It was a little crowded, but not in a bothersome way for me. The food was all so fresh and quality. My fish tacos were out of this world. It had the perfect flavor, crunch, and sauce. I like the hip groovy vibe I felt when I was here. You could also tell that the servers really did care about you, they just were sometimes too busy to be right there for every refill.
