One last time before heading out. Expect longer wait times on the weekends. Options: 1. Order a drink or two while you wait. Seating available outside. 2. Walk over to the Railyard. They will text you when your table is ready. Everything was great: food, drinks, service. We always have to stop by here at least once when in the area.

While in Santa Fe, we really wanted to try the famous blue corn enchilada with green chile sauce, and this was the perfect spot. We got the combination plate with chile relleno and cheese enchilada, plus a chalupa with sopapilla--everything was delicious and felt authentic. We went around 5:30 pm, and there was already a wait with limited parking. We opted for bar seating and got in much quicker. It got even more crowded later, so I'd recommend going early or planning ahead.

The parking lot was a bit crowded at the time we arrived. A sign of a popular place. We luckily found the one spot available in the lot. We got on the waitlist, and I don't think we waited more than 10 minutes. We were seated and a waiter greeted us and took our drinks. The place was clean and there were plenty of people dining there. We ordered our food and we didn't wait long for the food to arrive. All three in our party were quite satisfied with the food. The server kept our drinks filled and he brought out sopapillas. I used the restroom and I found it to be clean. We had a really nice experience at La Choza. For one member in our party, this is her favorite restaurant in Santa Fe. She is also vegetarian.

Let's start with the obvious, La Choza is one of the top restaurants in Santa Fe. The red chile is exquisite. I dream about it. And something may surprise you: the mushroom soup is literally the best I've had on the planet. A cup of it with garlic bread is $6. I mean, just smell it. I order it every single time I'm here, or at The Shed near the plaza. On this visit, excellent friendly service as usual. If you're alone, I recommend sitting at the bar where most locals gather. Parking is tight, especially for those of us who drive large vehicles (do they really need five spots for to-go orders?) and they don't take reservations. I recommend you arrive a few minutes before they open for lunch or dinner, or there can be a long wait. But... in sum... this is, for me, a top 10 restaurant in the United States, just for the extraordinary red chile. No exaggeration.

Delicious local spot and lovely, colorful restaurant. Everything we got was just a shade too spicy for us and the wait is long and the parking lot full even on a Tuesday at 1pm so not sure this is a place we'd come to repeatedly but overall pretty good.

Arrived at 7:30 in a Thursday night to find people waiting to get a table. We requested table for two and told 30 minutes but only had to wait 15. Great. Renee was our waitress who we found friendly and helpful with a pretty long menu. I order a La Rana and it was great. Had to wait 10 minutes for drink but fortunately our appetizer arrived. I order 2 fish tacos which was generous stuffed. Attractively presented and delicious (a bit spicy so be careful). My wife order a Chicken Chalupa which was overflowing with ingredients and my wife loved it. She doesn't like spicy food so assume okay as she finished 98% of it. Parking is a bit tight for such a busy restaurant but be patient.

Brendan was exceptional and Molly was efficient and personable. I ordered the pozole which was good but way overly spicy.

Such a vibe! Super delish! The manager Kenji was a class act.... personable and engaging! He took time and it shows, very genuine and unrushed interaction. Art, color, ambiance. The red chile was rich and flavorful. I loved the smoky flavor with the perfect essence of oregano. Chef's kiss! The parking was plenty, I love that they have a parking attendant, that was helpful. Beautiful, colorful, inviting indoors. Lots of unique local art and a beautiful place to enjoy a meal or drink. Great menu with lots of options. I had the combination plate of two selections. I chose the cheese enchilada and pork tamale with red chile. It came with beans, posole, and a delicious sopaipilla. Everything was absolution delicious and satisfying! I will definitely be back and I highly recommend!

I've heard so many great things about this place and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Just be prepared for a 45-minute to 1-hour wait, as they don't take reservations, so it's best to arrive right when they open. The parking lot is usually full, and you may need to park on the street. The ambiance is fantastic ! clean, welcoming, and full of Southwestern charm. The customer service was excellent. Jake was especially great and attentive and on top of everything. Another waiter was also very friendly, though I didn't catch his name. We started with the chips, salsa, guacamole, and queso. The chips weren't the freshest, but they weren't bad. and the queso was chef's kiss. When my entrée arrived, it was hot, flavorful, and smelled amazing. I ordered the stuffed sopapilla with ground beef and beans, served with Mexican rice everything was absolutely delicious. If you're visiting Santa Fe, I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Everything was excellent. Ordered the stuffed sopapilla, chile relleno, tamale, super burrito. All fresh, good flavor, large portions. They were super busy but the food came out quick. All the workers were friendly, inside was clean.

The line outside speaks to the quality of the dining establishment. Lovely interior, good ambiance, excellent service and food. Full bar with amazing New Mexican cuisine. Felt like dining inside a friends home. Chips and salsa and guacamole began a delicious meal. Chili relleno was the best I've eaten. Pozole was also delicious. Sopapillas were equally delicious. Be sure to visit when you're in Santa Fe!

Is it easy to park there?

Yes, they have an ample parking lot but you may have to wait to eat.

Do they take reservations or use WaitList or OpenTable?

They have a wait list. The best thing about it is that you can get margaritas while you wait and they have ample room both inside and outside to sit or stand while you are waiting. We were there on a busy night and waited about half hour which was…

Do they have a happy hour?

I am not sure but the margaritas on the menu were like 8.99 and 10.99 but I had 2 at lunch that totaled to 11.95 on our bill. maybe give them a call. i couldn't find anything on their website even about the margs.

    Is it pet friendly?

As of July 2022 - yes! Saw several dogs outside in the patio area.

My friends raved about the "swirl" margaritas (Santa Fe classic, apparently) so we got a frozen margarita flight. We were able to adjust the drinks in the flight- they even made me a frozen spicy margarita although that wasn't technically on the menu. Very helpful wait staff. We shared the flautas and loaded nachos. Both were rich but fantastic. We asked for both with a side of green chiles (highly recommend). The flautas came with sopaipillas which were fresh, soft and YUMMY. (They even brought two more when we asked!) This is a vibrant place to come for special occasions or even a nice family dinner. Highly recommend especially if you're visiting!

On top of that, the barbacoa had so many burnt pieces that they completely overpowered the flavor. I could barely taste anything besides char. I only finished it because I was starving. The beans were somehow even worse. They tasted like plain boiled beans with absolutely no seasoning. Not even salt. My girlfriend ordered the chicken enchiladas with mole for $28, and they were just as disappointing. It was basically two tiny rolled tortillas with the chicken sitting next to them instead of inside them. It made no sense. The mole sauce was decent, but it leaned much sweeter than savory.
