I absolutely love this place! Favorite gastropub in Studio City! I've been here numerous times and never had a bad experience. The service is great, food is delicious, it is a small restaurant so during their busy hours, 9 times out of 10 you'll need to wait for a table, but in all honesty, I don't mind the wait. My favorite dish on the menu is their 'wine braised short rib.' I get it every time! I really should venture out and try other things on the menu, but this particular dish is THAT good. Cool little spot. Service was still awesome considering they forgot two of our orders. I do wish the menu had a better selection though. Flatbreads looked like tiny pizza's and not flat at all, but still tasty. Warm Spinach salad was ok, but the beet salad was much better. We have been wanting to come here for a while and we finally did. Very disappointed! It took 34 minutes to get our food and the place was empty I mean that's ridiculous. Mind you nothing needed to be cooked except for my fries and some bacon for my sandwich and that doesn't take 34 minutes. The tj club sandwich was good but it's not worth $20 for the sandwich plus a side of fries. We won't be coming back here. Another star for good service. Visiting from Miami and our daughter took us to this trendy neighborhood restaurant. Delicious fresh food with gracious service and a smile. The Hummus was the best I've ever eaten. Loved my vegetable panini sandwich and my husband and daughter ordered the Truffle Burger, yummy cooked to perfection. Everything is homemade at the restaurant so you know the ingredients are fresh. We certainly will return to this restaurant again when visiting LA, try it you'll like it! read more

Lovely little restaurant off Ventura Blvd. Great wine selection, and atmosphere. We ordered the seared ahi, white bean soup, pork tacos and broccolini. Pork tacos and soup were delicious. The broccolini had no real flavor and the ahi was overcooked. Everything else was great though! read more

Went to the Tuning Fork last week and was not impressed. The seats are super uncomfortable, the place is small, it was hot inside, and the service was really bad. Our waiter ordered the wrong meal for a person in our party. We ordered a burger but wanted it with a turkey burger and it arrived with a beef patty. What happened next was unacceptable, the replacement meal did not come until everyone was finished eating, we ate slow and kept looking for the our friends food but it did not come. Our waiter was not on the floor, and the the other waitress never picked her head up to see us trying to get her attention. We are talking about a 20 table place here, and it wasn't full. Really sad. Also I ordered a burger that I specifically asked the waiter if it was edible with two hands and it was not. I ended up breaking it down and eating it with a knife and fork, which I did not want to do and why I asked the waiter previously. Service is a key component in the business and this place was awful at the most important thing. I totally did not want to tip but did anyway. Maybe the owner will read this review and know this server and the service as a whole has to change or they can consider themselves about to shut it sown and take the loss. I would not recommend this place nor would I ever go back. read more

New favorite place for me and my husband to go get some good beer and high quality food. The service has always been great, we always sit at the bar, and the bartender takes good care of us. It is a small space, so it can get crowded if you are going to dinner at a prime time like 7pm. But, we get there at 6pm on a Saturday and never have a problem. read more

Terrible service! It took 45 minutes to get food. The waitress never came back to our table after we placed our order. This place has a good list of beers. I had wanted to order some tasters but Maureen never came back. The food was Ok. I ordered a burger medium-well it came on the raw side. If I were the owner or manager I would be more attentive. Been coming here for several years and the food is always good, but the service has really gotten terrible. The last three times I've gone it's just been awful. Had to ask for our food each time. One was a lunch time and we ended up being there for well over an hour for two burgers. Just went for dinner and it was the same thing. Staff standing around watching the games on TV and our food took forever. Had to ask about it and still took another 15 after that. Only approached after we had been there for 10 minutes for our initial order and was only asked about refills, etc. after we asked about our food. We also noticed another table having to ask about their order as well. It's too bad because the burgers are good and they have generally been nice, but they really need to work on the service. read more

As I write this I am currently drinking Pedialite after spending the afternoon in the ER with the WORST food poisoning I have ever had. I ordered the ESW salad w/ chicken and had a few bites of the shroom flatbread. Clearly Tuning Fork cares less about food safety & hygiene than they should. Seriously be warned. Very clean, nice interior. Food was absolutely disgusting. We came in starving, spent $50 on two burgers and couldn't even get through three bites. Whatever spices they try to be innovative with made it inedible. Fries and chips were good but those are hard to mess up. Not to mention a bottle of Samuel Adams cost $35 buck. Probably the best club sandwich I've ever had. Generous amounts of ham and turkey with sharp cheddar cheese, crispy bacon and a really kick ass aioli on great toasted bread. Add the awesome house made chips and friendly staff and you get 5 stars! WooHoo!! read more

Been here several times. Food takes too long. Last time I was there on a business meeting I ordered truffle fries to go along with some beer. When truffle fries arrived they were cold, UGH!!! When I told guy behind bar (longer haired guy with beard) he actually stuck his finger in my fries and said your right. No apology just turned around. My client was shocked & so was I, we both laughed. Won't be going back anytime soon, especially with so many options in SC. Try Joan's on Third, they will not stick their fingers in your food if it is cold. LOL read more

Man. That wasn't fun. Went there on Sunday 5/27/18 (with my wife and two little girls (2 years & 7 months). Terrible service from the lady server on duty. Definitely didn't feel like our stroller was welcome. Food came incredibly late (even though there were only a couple other tables going in the entire place). Definitely won't go back. My advice: walk twenty steps down the block to Joan's -- warm, welcoming to families and delicious. read more

Food was ok, ambience was nice but the server looked like she had better things to do considering we were the only ones there for majority of time we were there. Like she was annoyed that she had to wait on us. Our water was running low so we asked for more water, and instead of getting us fresh new cold water, she grabbed the bottle that was also almost empty from the next table and gave that to us. And this barely even filled one person's glass! Granted that the next table was part of our party, point is, we needed more than the 4-6oz that was left in their jar. Like I said, I guess she has "better" things to do. I ordered the Portobello burger and not sure if I like portobello and mustard together. There was a bitter after taste that was unpleasant and it was not the portobello. Thank goodness I was starving. Don't recommend it, and would rather go to a different resto if I have a choice. Walking in, it's very dark and very small in there. They don't take substitutions or "don't like to" so I had to build my own burger. My turkey burger was good, but I only had Avocado, grilled onions and egg and it somehow turned into a $22 burger with a sad side salad. This salad was sad because it literally tasted like nothing - the dressing was bland and brought nothing to the dish. In a summer in which we've tried a new restaurant in and around Studio City 91604 every Friday night (Girasol, Pagliacci's, Spoonful, Stout . . .), we welcome Tuning Fork to the neighborhood. I'm a vodka drinker and beer is not my forté, so I appreciate the waitresses' detailed descriptions of the starts and finishes of the various brands of which I'd inquired (plus a few others she'd recommended). It was the first time I'd had a canned beer since college, and boy was it good. The hot sauce burger and blue cheese burgers were both excellent, while the green beans and slivered almonds seemed a bit perfunctory. In the plus column, the restaurant's web site touts a "no kids after 7 p.m." policy which is music to our ears. The tab was very manageable after hitting nearly triple digits at Vitello's and Bow & Truss in recent weeks. We'll certainly be back often. read more

Burger was pretty tasty. I opted for the Plain Jane and while the patty seemed to be perfectly shaped and straight from the freezer it was actually quite fresh and awesome. Iceberg lettuce would have made the burger better but the excellent service made up for it read more

The Tuning Fork was a great experience for my boyfriend and I. The place is small and cute. I agree they utilized the space well-we were seated in the back near the glass windows that go to the floor and you can see their pretty plants right outside. Lighting is perfect, not too dark. The staff is great: funny, mellow and attentive (not pushy at all). Crowd was around our age (late 20's/early 30's). The food: We started with their truffle fries-really good. Porter beer is satisfying (we've had it before.) They have great VEGAN options : ) I had the vegan Mac and Cheese-Made of rice noodles and a veggie sauce with homemade chips on top. Vegan creme brulee. Not at all what I expected, but still good. My boyfriend had the jerk chicken with veggies and thought it was very good. Only downside is the menu is somewhat small. We also went on a Wednesday night around 8pm, so we were treated to live music too (jazz that night.) What a cool place. I want to recommend everyone and bring friends here read more

My wife and I haven't come back to this street since the Thai restaurant where Tuning Fork is now closed up in 2013. We were delighted to see a new restaurant in the space and tried it for my birthday. We loved it. Very cool relaxing vibe even when crowded, attentive, energetic staff, salmon was delish, spinach salad was very light and tasty, and we loved our cups of butternut soup and tomato soup, both with a hint of pesto. No complaints.....and had a nice light Pilsner. The Ale Brownie is a must, and they comped that for my b-day. We will be back to try the burgers....looks like we found a new restaurant to enjoy! read more
