Friends and I were returning from an Art Expo and we wanted to try something new - none of us had ever tried Thai before so we were looking forward to it. First thing I noticed when we walked in was the great atmosphere; the food smelled good and the area was definitely welcoming. Fortunately, we didn't wait long for the kind hostess to take us to our table. I loved that there was a wide variety of entrees and appetizers to choose from; everything seemed delicious. It did not take too long for our orders to arrive at our table; we waited only about 10-15 minutes. The servers were very considerate of our accommodations when taking our orders, and I appreciate that very much. Personally, I ordered the Spicy Basil Fried Rice, and it was one of the best dishes I've had at an Asian Restaurant. The vegetables and the spicyness complemented the rice and beef very well and combined for a delicious flavour. I will definitely be returning in the future. If anyone in the area or attends university here is looking to try something new or dine at an Asian restaurant, this is definitely the place to start. It won't disappoint! read more

Best Thai food in the area. They opened right before Covid and they did a great job transitioning. Their pad woo sen is always consistent and I never worried about them getting an order wrong. This is a go-to spot for your local Thai takeout and they have plenty of room inside too! They have large booths and great service. This place has enormous portions for great prices! Most of the entrees are in the $11-$15 range, and you will get 2 meals out of it. I got the red curry, and it was massive (and very spicy). This was maybe the third time. I really liked their green curry. This time it was yellow. It's taste was good but not the same. They were having electrical problems but the manager came and explained everything and our dinner was not late. Very friendly but my green curry was not green. The chicken satay was awesome. This place is amazing. Everything is delicious. I have a huge household and we order a whole lot of stuff at a time, usually for delivery - they've ALWAYS gotten he order completely 100% correct. Takeout is ready fast, if we choose it. Favorites are the pineapple fried rice, which is full of everything from cashews and raisins to mushrooms and broccoli, and the peanut sauce that they give out with the chicken satay. Sticky rice with mango is also great, but I've really never had anything that wasn't at least pretty good from here. read more

Worst service I've ever had in my life. We came during a very busy time which is fine. I expect the server to be busy. The problem was we waited over an hour and NOT ONCE did the server check on us for the entire hour. I can accept waiting an hour at such a small mom and pop restaurant. I cannot accept being ignored by the server. The restaurant cleared and we still hadn't gotten our food. It was 20 minutes till closing time and he finally brought one of two dishes. Ten more minutes went by and my girlfriend was still waiting for her food. The server was cleaning and not checking on us again. We called out for her food and he said they weren't making it. We said forget it! He gave us the check with a petty 10% discount. At least I have a story now for the worst service ever I guess ‍. Food was fine. read more

I lived in Gainesville for years and come back often. I have tried most of the Thai places and been super disappointed.. I always start with Pad Thai on my first visit to compare. The Pad Thai here was really good. I also tried the pot stickers with Panang sauce, mainly because I love Panang curry. They were good also. read more

Went today and had the Tuna tartar and it was amazing! We ordered the Yum Beef, and the sampler app and I had the Trust Me chef special. The tartar was by far the best thing I ate. Service was fast friendly and clean. read more

I was looking for somewhere to have an early dinner in between meetings. I'd never been here before as I live a lot closer and have always enjoyed Bangkok Square. I don't have exotic tastes and tend to stick with the familiar, so I order some spring rolls and the spicy basil fried rice. I would have enjoyed a simple green salad but didn't see it on the menu and forgot to ask. The spring rolls came out quickly and were very good. Right as I finished the rolls my entree came out. It was piping hot. I ordered medium spice and it was right on target. The was good flavor, good balance in the ingredients, and a good amount of chicken. I couldn't finish the entire dish, and would have taken it home if I hadn't had a meeting after. I was the only diner during my visit (4:30-5:15) and the two people who took care of me were very attentive and masked the whole time. I felt very comfortable and unrushed. read more

I've only been to Tup Tim Thai for the sushi and appetizers, but they have not disappointed! I always like going to local places over chains, and this is the only one in Gainesville that I am aware of! Their California roll is classic and very yummy. Their veggie roll is stuffed with many different pickled vegetables, which is different than anything I've had before. They are open for inside seating, so I hope they continue to do well! read more

We just couldn't make it another day without sushi, but we haven't been happy with our usual vendors when it comes to delivery. Last week, the weather being cool enough that I was ready to trust the delivery of raw fish, we placed an order with Tup Tim Thai - and WOW are we glad we did. The centerpiece of our order was a combination of sushi with a rainbow roll (see photo). Wonderfully fresh fish and an extremely generous portion for the price of just under $17. We augmented this with two "cups" of soup - each enough to serve two - and I'm a total fan of their Tom Kah Tofu - cream coconut broth, chunks of firm tofu, lots of veggies and totally bang-on heat and flavor. We added some seaweed salad (which for some reason had greens mixed in with it - not a fan) and a couple of appetizers. I can't wait to get back to ordering another meal, and to try out my personal Thai favorite, green curry tofu. If it's as good as what we've had so far, I'll be a fan-for-life. read more

The food here is just okay. I ordered the panang curry Thai hot and it was not hot at all. The flavor was okay but I definitely had better. Three stars is for the poor customer service. We waited forever to be served and once we received our food the waitress never checked on us. Instead I had to stare someone down for the check. It was not busy and they had adequate staff so it's hard for me to give them the benefit of the doubt. I will not be returning. read more

Tip Tim Thai in Gainesville Fl was worst Thai food I have ever had. Tup Tim rolls were very greasy and a weird texture. The Spicey Thai Basil Fried Rice had a nice level of heat but no other depth of flavor. Bland and the rice was very dry, possibly from over cooking. Even the Thai coffee did not taste like Thai coffee. Very disappointing. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

We tried Tuptimthaigainesville tonight. It's near UF. We've been meaning to try it. They opened about 2 months before the quarantine hit, they do take out now. I had a delicious spicy basil shrimp fried rice and my fiancé got a black pepper dish. We enjoyed our meals and had leftover for tomorrow. They have sushi and hibachi as well. Best new restaurant in Gainesville right now, I went back two times in one week! The first night I went, I had the Lucky Lady sushi combo which was a ten piece rainbow roll, 5 piece nigiri, and choice of soup or salad. These rolls are huge and the fish was incredibly fresh. They also have a good selection of alcohol including local beers from Sweetwater brewery. Came back on a Friday night and had the duck panang curry and pad woon sen noodle with veggies- wow, very flavorful and huge portions! I asked for Thai hot and it was not spicy at all (more a mild in my opinion) but the flavor made up for that. I totally understand that Thai hot in Gainesville is difficult because many people can not handle spice. Their food is also presented beautifully and the service is great! We've been there a few times now and it's not perfect but the service is about the best I've experienced in millions of times dining out. The young lady that takes care of us is a super class act and incredibly helpful. She knows the menu really well and there's sufficient options for our vegetarian pallets. They are more than happy to adjust space levels to accommodate your desires and they have quite a varied menu.
