We "called ahead" for a party of 9 at 9.30 on a Sunday. when we arrived, they weren't very busy at all, and there were quite a few scattered empty tables. The wait staff they have was unable to figure out how to actually move tables and made us just stand there for about 20 minutes. When we eventually managed to speak with a manager, she was absolutely zero help. we were told that we needed to wait for other parties to leave before they could see us. in addition, we saw three or four parties of three people each come in and be seated while we were standing there. so half an hour after standing there, we wound up calling a different local breakfast place that we've used in the past and was able to immediately accommodate us. Went in on Sunday with a friend for brunch. It was busy so both of us excepted a bit of a wait, no biggie. The hostess told us about a 30 minute wait, we said fine, and waited. Went inside and got called for our table shortly thereafter. Had a really nice kid wait on us order 2 coffees, a soda, and an orange juice. Placed our food order and.......waited, waited, waited....waiter came over and told us they were short staffed in the kitchen, ok no problem we get it.....waited, waited....it was a hole 50 minutes that we sat there waiting for our food. Look I get it, I hate me right now for even writing this but sometimes you have too let people know. That was not ok, I didn't have a good experience and I was really just upset when I left. Such a great place for brunch. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is amazing. I had the Annie's lemonade and it was good. The Big Easy Benedict was delicious. The flavors were an interesting combination but they went together so well. I also like that they have a flight of pancakes option because it allows you to try different types of pancakes. The ones I tried were also very good. My fave would have to be the cinnamon roll pancakes. I'd so come here again. read more

I haven't been to a Turning Point in 10 years because I moved to PA. Walking in to Turning Point of Brick, iyer was just as I remembered: amazing atmosphere and food that is fresh, innovative and delicious. My husband and I both had a small glass of their fresh squeezed orange juice and shared a French press of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. I had their seasonal French toast, which came with lemon berry mascarpone and a raspberry coulis. Hubs had their grande huevos rancheros, which was indeed grande, Adams included a ton of cheese, roasted potatoes, salsa, black beans and eggs. He nixed the avocado and sour cream. We both really enjoyed our meal. They were very busy for a Monday morning. We waited about 10 minutes for a table and service was a little slow. It was also kind of pricey for a brunch. It didn't take me long to realize that I was going to like this place. I took a look at the menu and noticed it wasn't a typical Eggs & Toast place and that peaked my interest right away. My wife and I were heading north already so I looked up The Turning Point and later found out it was a chain. Although typically chains don't impress me, The Turning Point is definitely an exception to the rule. The place itself is really nice and clean. Well decorated and comfortable seating. Our server came over and asked us for our drink order. She was very pleasant and good at her job. The first thing I noticed about the food and drinks which was very impressive was that we got a pitcher of water at the table and also a small coffee pot full of coffee. For food I ordered the Eggs Benedetto which was an Eggs Benedict with ciabatta bread, tomatoes, spinach, peppers, portobellos and pesto glazed poached eggs. It was very good. There were so many unique options on the menu that at first I couldn't decide what I wanted. My wife had the Roadhouse Bacon Stack (grilled cheese with a smokehouse aioli, jack & cheddar cheeses, thick crispy bacon, caramelized onions,tomato & baby spinach leaves on sourdough. Very disappointed. I wasn't pleased first time I b as here. Tried it again yesterday safe we were in the area.... Worse than before ! Ladies room had no soap, was dirty & messy. I had toilet paper stuck to my shoe because it was thrown all over the floor. There weren't Any antibacterial dispensers that had soap !! We Sat at counter & it took about 45 min to get food. I never write reviews but I need to with this.The manager was EXTREMELY rude when I called them questioning as to why I paid 7 dollars for basically All ice in a 7 ounce cup. I order from them every day but will be no longer, no straw even included for the 3rd time and last time forgot part of my order but I let it go. The manager claimed her staff had been pouring the drink wrong and they gave the same amount in the restaurant which isn't true as I go there almost every weekend. Although it wasn't completely negative, she still asked for my information and sent two free meal and beverage certificates in the mail. Working at so many restaurants, I'm very understanding of mishaps. The Turning Point understands that the customer comes first, and chooses to correct their mistakes. Yum yum yum. It's a breakfast/lunch spot that gets crazy busy. I found this place from a Yelp search and I will continue to visit this place whenever I am in the area. I have been a long time fan of this restaurant, not today. The restaurant was half empty when I placed my order, which took a long time to happen. When my cappuccino arrived it was barely room temperature and that was the last time I saw my waiter. Finally 20 minutes later I had enough and left after telling the waiter whyI was leaving. Another customer was waiting for an order to go, she told me she heard the same thing from other customers leaving. I don't know how long she was waiting but she was definitely angry too. I have been going here for years and enjoyed it but I haven't been here for months due to health issues. The Turning point in Brick is not bad, but not necessarily spectacular. What I like about the place is the breakfast/brunch/lunch menu is quite vast and there are several healthy options to choose from. You can get anything from omelettes, wraps, soups, sandwiches, etc. I absolutely LOVE their white lotus tea. It's a light caffeine blend. I cannot find it in any store! I'm usually a coffee girl, but this tea is just hmmmmm YUMMY. They give you pretty decent portions, so you won't leave hungry. Most of the time you get a choice of a muffin, toast, and fresh fruit. The downside, is I don't find anything particularly special about the place (besides that tea!). There are so many cute and locally owned breakfast and lunch places in the Brick/Point Pleasant/Brielle/Belmar/ Jersey shore area in general that this place just does not stand out. It is also extremely crowded every day of the week. It doesn't matter if you come on a Thursday afternoon or a Sunday afternoon, prepare to wait. The service is decent, but I haven't had a stellar waiter or waitress that sticks out in my mind the few times I have been here. They are all very pleasant. A lot of people like the decor....I find it flat. The out door seating, however, looks nice. I would come here if you are in the area, but I wouldn't go out of your way. I've never felt so disrespected at an establishment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We came here for brunch as a party of 8 and was sat in a booth that accommodates 6.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat, and politely asked if we could move to a table that could more accommodate all of us. We were told by our server that we couldn't go into that area because they were closing that section and her manager would get mad at her. So then I proceeded to ask the bus boy for the manager and he was very nice and said he would get them. Another gentleman, I didn't catch his name came over and said, oh I didn't realize there was this many people in this party let me fix some tables for you to move too. We all thanked him and thought the situation was fixed. The server came over after and said if we split up our GROUP OF 8 then we can move tables. I said, why would we split up our entire party that makes no sense. As the other gentleman was cleaning up tables for us to move too, I guess the actual manager decided to make an appearance and come over to us and ask us why her server was crying and what we said to her and what the problem was. We did not say anything to the server to warrant crying, we would not do that, and it wasn't even her fault for where we were sitting. The manager proceeded to become hostile with the whole party as we explained that the other gentleman was already taking care of us and she would not listen. She then told us to leave when there was no reason to warrant us to leave. We had no issue till that so called manager came over and told us we were disrespectful to her server. This is completely unjustified and unacceptable behavior for an establishment that works in customer service. What was supposed to be an enjoyable experience of brunch for a birthday turned into a shit show because of this so called manager. I urge this company to get more training for their managers if they don't know how to read a situation or realize their staff had already figured it out.
