Our server was friendly and continued to check on us throughout our meal to make sure we had everything we needed. My companion got a vegetable omelette, which, as she described it, was more like a mess of veggies held together with a little egg and cheese- it looked wonderful and she said it was tasty. It came with a side of grits which was large enough to be a meal unto itself. She asked for hot sauce and they brought some over- they make it in-house (and you can buy it to-go if you want it for home). It had delicious authority! Hot but still very flavorful. I got a grilled cheese with spinach- it was delicious- very cheesy but also very spinachy and not too greasy from the skillet. The highlight for me was the maduros (plantains)- they were just the right combination of crispy from the carmelized sugars and soft but not squishy, and zero charred taste (which can happen if you are not careful). If I still lived locally, I would be in here frequently- we both left very satisfied and the portions were large enough that we brought home some omelette and some maduros for an afternoon snack. Well done Leo's!

I had the BLT with avocado and every part of the meal was excellent. The toasty bread was crisp and had a really nice texture; the egg was cooked just how I asked; the bacon a perfect balance of crisp and chewy. I asked for an extra side of avocado (I'm all about getting my fiber) and it arrived at the peak of perfect ripeness. The home fries were tender and savory. Also my cappuccino was delicious. The dining area was very clean and had a faintly rustic feel. The bathroom was also sparkling clean. I was in and out in less than 40 minutes, too, but never felt rushed. There were plenty of vegetarian options. I'm not too sure about it if you have to avoid dairy or gluten; the menu has a lot of that. Handicap access was pretty good: no steps to get in and out of the place. Honestly I can't wait to visit here again!

She gave great recommendations and made the experience even better. Interestingly, both visits we had the same server, and she was consistently kind and welcoming each time. Food: 8/10 The food was very good. On my first visit, I wasn't a huge fan, but the second time was much better. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and my friend really enjoyed her meal as well. I would definitely recommend the food. Ambiance: 8/10 The restaurant has a cozy feel. It's a small space, so it can get a bit loud when it fills up, but the bathroom was very clean, which I appreciated. Overall Experience: A- Great food and a great experience overall. If you're looking for a quick breakfast spot with family or friends, this is a perfect choice. The staff is friendly, the food is good, and the atmosphere is cozy.

I was back in Philly for work and wanted to check out a breakfast/brunch spot that I used to love…read more Unfortunately, things were different this time. FOOD: The breakfast burrito was not good at all. They put huge chunks of raw onions and green peppers in it. I had to pick them all out. They should cut them small and at minimum sweat them down a little. Those are 2 products that should be used sparingly due to their powerful flavor. It was also supposed to have bacon in it, but there were only a few teeny tiny pieces in it. By "few" I mean like 4 bacon bits in the entire burrito. Based on the size and the taste, I think they actually used a jar of those little red salad dressing isle bacon bits. I have a good palate and struggled to even taste the bacon. I even pulled 1 of the 4 bacon bits out and ate it on its own & it tasted like nothing. Unknown if that was because it was so small or because it wasn't real bacon. SERVICE: They sat me at the bar, but I didn't get a server to come greet me for almost 10 minutes. But I do acknowledge it was very very busy so I wasn't too concerned. ** I probably just ordered the wrong menu item. I do not recommend the cowboy burrito. However 9 of the 10 times I've dined there it was a good experience. The place was packed on a Wednesday morning. So obviously people love this place. ____________________________________________________________________ GOOD: Those little Jewish Apple Cakes were the same as they always were. Our waitress was thoughtful and welcoming, and they even started us off with a free appetizer of banana bread, grapes, and chocolate-filled rolls. What really stood out was how we were treated. The lady with black hair (possibly the owner, if not, she deserves a raise!) was genuinely kind. She took pictures for us, chatted and joked with us, and was consistently attentive. It felt like more than just service--it was hospitality at its finest. Food: (9/10) The food was amazing. The smoked salmon was perfectly cooked inside the eggs and seasoned beautifully nothing bland on the plate. I tried capers for the first time, and the way they worked with the omelet made me a fan for life. The combination of eggs, salmon, and capers was spot on. Major compliments to the chef! Ambiance: (10/10) The restaurant was clean, including the bathroom, which says a lot. In the morning, it had a nice energy customers were eating and chatting, music was playing softly in the background, and the art added to the cozy aesthetic. The space was lively without being overwhelming. Overall: A This place easily made it into my top 5 breakfast restaurants. I'm not usually big on breakfast, but I loved everything about it here. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying everything on the menu.
