The food has always been good here for the most part. The only issue I have is the cups are always dirty. I've been here 4 or 5 times and every time we've had to ask for clean cups. I'm not sure if the dishwasher isn't functioning properly or if they're being hand washed but it should be addressed. Dirty glassware is a huge turnoff. read more

I have been here a handful of times on a Saturday or Sunday. There is usually at least a half an hour wait when you get there, so don't expect to be seated right away during busy hours. If you have children, they provide little cups of cereal for the kids while waiting. The omelettes are good and so are the skillets. My favorite by far is the pesto skillet. They also offer a great selection of coffee and drinks , from French press coffee served right at your, to decadent hot chocolates. The service is my biggest complaint. It can be hit or miss each time you go. My last time there, they were extremely slow and very inattentive. I get that they are busy, but they do need to pay attention the diners that are sitting down waiting to be served. read more

I really, really wanted to love this place. The decor is nice, it feels trendy, it's in a nice area, and I've had friends that liked it. However. I just can't recommend it. We visited there on a Sunday in August. We probably came around 11:30 and there was still a decent wait. No problem, I thought it was really nice that they put out a little free coffee stand to have a cup of coffee while you were waiting. Only bad part, the cream came out in chunks. I brought it up to the hostess stand and said, "I think your cream is bad" she said "oh I'm sorry, you can throw that away there." So I did. She made no move to switch out the cream. Oh well, I figured I would just wait until I got to the table to get coffee. She must've been busy ‍ from our vantage point after we did get seated, we saw three more women standing outside with little cups of coffee from the same station in their hand, they looked into their cup made a face and disposed of their coffee. So apparently the chunky cream never got replaced. When we did sit at our table, I finally got coffee. Unfortunately it was in a dirty cup... some sort of schmootz inside the cup...Then I noticed a little smudge of brown on my rolled up napkin with silverware. No biggie, maybe it brushed up against something I thought. I flipped it over and boy did I see the most disgusting thing. (See picture!) It looked like dried cake batter all over the silverware. Brown, nasty, and disgusting. when my husband unrolled his silverware, the whole napkin was soggy and gross. The water glasses were also extremely spotty. Onto the food.... (when we finally got it, which was about 35 minutes after we ordered it!) I got the smashed avocado toast. I really enjoyed it. Also some broccoli soup, which had a decent flavor, but the consistency of broccoli water. My husband had a ham and cheese omelette and the omelette came out literally as flat as a pancake. Kind of odd. Not a lot of flavor, and pretty uninspired. The food was decent (at best) but I just was kind of grossed out imagining what the kitchen looks like if they didn't care about how the tables looked. To be honest though what really bothered me was the appearance of the staff. Everyone looked very slovenly and it just kind of turned my stomach a bit. Even my husband commented on it, and for him to notice something it has to be real bad. I know you can get kind of messy and dirty when you're working and especially when it's busy, I was in the restaurant industry for 17 years....but... this was a different level. Everyone's outfits looked dirty and stained, the black aprons were literally covered in crud... like they had never seen a washing machine, or even a wet rag since the day they were issued. All in all it just left a really bad impression on us, it just seem like they just don't care... if one of those things were to happen it would just be like," oh well they must be having an off day" but the combination of everything just kind of left us feeling pretty "meh and ugh" about the place. read more

Great food always at all turning point locations. However, specifically at this location the wait time was absurd. I was told it would be 30 minutes on the phone, for call ahead and got my name on the list. Assuming when I would arrive after a 15 minute drive I would only have to wait an additional 15 minutes. The manager comped the meal... as he should have... so we tried again. Staff chatting and ignoring patrons. Dirty menus. Cold, tasteless potatoes. When I cook for my family and / or friends, I try because I give a s_it. Zero effort here. Save your time and money. Get a coffee to go and RUN, don't walk away, from the food. I just wish that if they are going to use sausage in any of their Eggstraorginary dishes, that they would use the real thing. The chicken chorizo is not good. Not sure if it is just not a good quality one but I didn't like it at all. And the NOLO sweet and spicy shrimp hash is overpriced in my opinion. read more

SLOW SERVICE ALRERT!!! I don't know how many weeks our server was working here, but he seemed lost and clueless. (I was warned that this is typical of the service here, but this must have been an extreme example....) Halfway through the meal, he just stopped coming over to our table and looked down when passing by; probably knew we were not happy. My pancakes were wet and nearly raw inside - was informed later that that was normal for the batter type. Well, I could not eat them. I am never disappointed when I have brunch at Turning Point. Wonderful selections of breakfast and lunch and all for a reasonable price! Not to mention their coffee is amazing (and the free refills on the iced coffee is unbeatable!!). Their staff has always been so friendly and accommodating. This place is awful! Everything about it has been terrible. The food has been undercooked, cold and just plain disgusting. The restaurant is so loud, you literally cannot hear yourself think! I've complained on their facebook page and was contacted by corporate management. I was mailed two complimentary coupons to use at my leisure, to any restaurant, so i gave it another shot- wish I didn't. This experience was worse than my prior one. Tried Turning Point today after a friend recommended it, it was excellent! When we got there it was super packed, but we used the waitlist option on Yelp and got seated earlier than expected. My husband got the fruit waffles and a coffee (it came with a rock candy which was really cute and he said it added to the flavor). I got the Wilbur scramble with potatoes, bacon, avocado, tomatoes, and eggs over easy. I got an iced coffee to go at the end, it was mocha flavored and way better than most breakfast places coffees. Everyone who worked there was really happy, friendly, and enthusiastic (despite how crowded it was). I was really impressed with Turning Point and we will definitely be returning! read more

Ooof. Ouch. Dirty. Tables not cleaned correctly. Shmutz inside the coffee cup. Very slow. Like, extremely. Teenaged staff, almost entirely. I guess it's cool they are providing summer jobs to the teens, but they are mostly clueless and the service level is lousy. Food was, sadly, ordinary to bleh. Omelettes were omelettes, nothing to distinguish them. Whole grain pancake was truly awful. Tasted like wet cardboard. French pressed Kenyan coffee was excellent, no criticism there (except the dirty cup). The physical space is great. Bright, hip, decent amount of seating and a nice outdoor patio too. read more

I've been to Turning Point for breakfast and lunch in the last two weeks and both experiences were great! The food was delicious and high quality. The Avocado Smash sandwich is excellent! The veggie omelet with hash browns was very tasty. Service was good too. Although very busy, they were able to get our food out to us quickly. It was our friend's 30th bday and though they don't serve dessert, the chef created a stack of pancakes with cream cheese icing and strawberries plated with chocolate sauce. He even came out to our table to ask our opinion. Made quite an impression on us! I highly recommend the Turning Point! read more

Absolutely amazing! Went with my girls from work, so ad ordered something different to try. Loved it all.... I love green eggs and honey sit n eats. I would say this place is comparable and very affordable. It was 5 of us, we ordered 6 entrees, smoothie, French press, tea, coffee and a partridge in a pear tree... Lol! The bill was $80.... love it. Chicken n waffles amazing, lobster Benedict is unreal, tiramasu French toast was delicious the banana foster waffuls was just OK. My family and I tried this place today for breakfast and wanted to share our experience here. We arrived at 11 on a Sunday morning looking for breakfast. Ok, so, clearly, rookie mistake. We've just moved out of the city where going out for brunch on a Sunday wasn't such a crowd fest with so many places to choose from. I need to remember that here in the burbs the choices are more limited. So the place was packed when we arrived, plenty of people waiting, but they told us a 30-35 minute wait, so we figured we'd wait. 75 minutes later, though - well after noon - we were seated. Finally. Thankfully we'd had plenty of time to review the menu so we already knew what we were going to order. By this time I was at that weird stage of so-hungry-that-I'm-not-hungry, so I ordered the simple traditional eggs breakfast - two eggs your way (my way was poached), breakfast potatoes, and a toasted English muffin. Hubby ordered the Cajun eggs Benedict, and kiddo had chocolate chip pancakes of course. Our food took a typical amount of time to arrive, and we all enjoyed our meals. However, nothing was worth waiting over an hour for. We'd be happy to come back but will definitely try to come earlier to beat the crowd. The frozen hot chocolate was great, and my daughter got the s'mores hot chocolate which was also good. We were there for over two hours by the time all was said and done. Having been there for so long, I noticed a few things that are worth sharing. One, obviously, is they need to do a better job of, or come up with a better system for, estimating wait time. 35 minutes is not even in the same range as 75 minutes. Two, they are slow to flip tables. The bus process seems slow and of several steps. I watched waitresses flip their own tables, and bussers flip other tables. The cleaning was slow, the setting was slow, sometimes they didn't have utensils and had to make an extra trip out of the dining room to get them and come back. If you refine and speed up this process you could improve your wait times. I hope this place improves, because it's a great breakfast/lunch option in an area where there isn't much. My girlfriends and I wanted to do brunch this weekend and after seeing great reviews we decided on Turning Point. We arrived Saturday around 11 am. We were told the wait would be 15-20 minutes. It ended up being about 30 but we were expecting a wait so it was fine. We had been waiting get our food for about 20 minutes when we noticed other tables around us either getting a free fruit bowl for the wait times or having to send their food back due to it being cold. That's when we began to worry. Eventually we were offered a fruit bowl as well because of the delay. The manager on duty came to each table to apologize for the wait times. When we finally got our food it was somewhat disappointing. The avocado toast had been drenched in olive oil so it was soggy. The waffles and French toast were somewhat bland. The service and decor here were excellent but the wait times and food were not. Not sure if I'll be returning. read more

We had brunch with our "Dine Around" group today. Total of 33 people. They were able to seat us all together and give us separate checks as requested. I came here with a friend on a Monday morning and I don't have a single complaint! We went around 9 AM and were seated right away. There weren't many people there at first but, by the time we left, the place was packed. Our server was extremely attentive and helpful. I ordered their endless coffee and it was some really delicious coffee! I loved that they had almond milk to give me for my coffee! The menu was filled with absolutely delicious sounding options. I ordered the Veggie Frittata with turkey sausage added in. My friend ordered the Popeye Skillet with avocado. We both loved our meals! The quality of the food was great and the portions were huge! UPDATE: 10/30/16 Returned today for another try. Called ahead at 10:30 and told we should be seated around 11:15 but actually seated closer to noon. They should use the Disney approach. Better food and service this time. But still seemed chaotic for some employees. Our waiter, Rashad was excellent!!! Upped my rating by one star.
