    Eggs benedict

April 27, 2019 - 4 years later. A quick update. Service by Rachel was exceptional!! 10/10 Our eggs benedicts and sides were perfect. 9/10 My Power Trip vegan omelet was awesome. Meat substitute products are not hugely healthy but better than animal proteins, saturated fats, antibiotics, and hormones and gmo remnants etc. 10/10 Fantastic job!!!

Turning Point never fails to make a good breakfast! My Grandmom and I come here every few months to treat ourselves to a nice big breakfast! This time I got a Western Omelet with bacon, peppers, onions, and cheddar cheese. It came with a side of toast and home fries. It was delicious and made fresh, but it was a big portion so I took the other half of it home! My Grandmom got pancakes and asked for them to be stuffed with blueberries and strawberries. She loved it...great classic pancakes she says. Not to mention they have a coffee bar at this location so they have all different coffee and tea drinks to choose from. I always get hot chocolate, which I highly recommend. They have a ton of neat hot chocolate creations, I have tried most of them and loved each one! As always, Turning Point is a reliable breakfast place and always look forward to coming here. ONE NOTE: It does get busy on the weekends so I suggest putting yourself on the waitlist or getting there early!

I love this place. Affordable prices with great proportions. The coffee was unlimited which is always my favorite thing at brunch places. I ended up getting the barbacoa benedict which was pretty amazing. I loved the use of cornbread in the dish. The barbacoa was perfectly made. The use of the egg definitely added to the dish. The place's decor was average but my waiter was amazing and very attentive.

    Flight of Pancakes

My parents are snowbirds and when they come home from Florida, their biggest gripe is that they can't find a good breakfast spot. Apparently Southwest Florida is the Land of Omelettes and Pancakes and Southeast Pennsylvania is a hellscape of sad diner food. So when they told me about their plight, I immediately directed them to Turning Point. I'm a lifesaver. Turning Point knows what they're good at and focuses on their strengths. The menu is mainly breakfast food with some light lunch options as well. This focus allows them to come up with creative takes on basic breakfast foods. The last time I went there I had the pancake flight, which lets you try 3 varieties of their pancakes. I went with chocolate berry (chocolate chips topped with fresh strawberries and chocolate sauce- good but too rich for me), cinnamon roll pancakes (cinnamon swirl with cream cheese frosting- decadent but delicious) and lemon blueberry (OMG, heaven. Get these.). My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles which were chicken tenders and hot honey on a fluffy Belgian waffle. Don't worry, if you're not piggy like us, there are plenty of light and fresh options too including their "good and good for you" section. Or if you want to challenge us in decadence, check out their selection of eggs Benedicts or the OMG French toast. Since you're likely there for breakfast, coffee is a must and they have everything from the sugary crazy concoctions like a SMores latte to an excellent selection of French press blends. I recommend the Jersey Devil, but if you're looking for something iced, just know they make the ice cubes out of coffee too, so it's not watered down. Turning Point started in NJ so the inside has a nice, light and beach vibe that makes you feel like you're at a shore cafe. There's also a small outdoor eating area if you want to people watch while you brunch. There's reminders all over to be kind to the staff, which bums me out that it's even needed. Our server was a really nice young man who was super helpful and upbeat even though he was busy. It's easy to be nice with great staff like that. Some other final tips, it's BYOB, so bring your own champagne for that mimosa, don't bring a Discover card since they dont accept them (at least last time I tried) and be prepared for a possible wait. It's worth it and you'll be able to shop at some of the local stores while you're waiting or grab a coffee at their Cowabunga Cafe. Save yourself from the breakfast hellscape, hit up this gem in Valley Square

    Southern Chicken Waffle

Came here with my friend for breakfast before going to the Philly Auto Show and I gotta say it was pretty good. The wait was minimal and our food came out fast. I had the Southern Chicken and Waffles and it was really good. The perfect amount of sweet and spicy to start off the day. I also had a French Toast Latte and omg that thing is fire. It's gigantic and tastes amazing. Only thing I dinged this place for is I think the portions were a little small for the price. Can still recommend though.

    Flatbread - forgot which kind

Not terrible, not great. Pretty fast service for a very busy place. We signed up online via Yelp to get on the waiting list and we waited about an hour for a busy Saturday morning. Our waitress was lovely, super friendly and quick. Food had so much potential but was lacking overall in small details. We got the XXL bourbon pepper bacon, chicken and waffles and some flatbread - I tried to find it on the menu to refresh my memory but forgot. Also got the salted caramel mochachino. The bacon was super yummy. Chewy and thick and slightly sweet with the cinnamon. Chicken and waffles were fine - the presentation was a little messy and the chipotle flavor was a little weird. The flatbread was overall not bad but the crust was so soggy and not crispy at all. Again, fine, but not great. The mochachino was very yummy but very sweet! Great for my sweet tooth, not so much hubby's. Did not love this meal but by no means did I hate it. Would recommend if you are really craving brunch somewhere.

Quite empty on a Wednesday afternoon at 4:30. I assume they get a younger crowd that works and comes later (we are retired). The happy hour menu impressed us. Speciality cocktails normally $15-ish were only $9. That got our attention. Plus $5 appetizers. Never see lemon drop martini, manhattan and expresso martinis on happy hour afterall. And those were our picks (3 of us). We were celebrating Mom's 93 birthday. For the $5. appetizers we picked pork spring rolls, potato chip nachos, and mozzarella sticks. The chips were the winner. BUT "never" get the spring rolls. Two very disappointing , tiny spring rolls that had a microscopic amount of pork. It was pathetic. Not even worth it for $5. I would stay away from those. Silly only two on the plate and there were 3 of us. Too small to share. Our server was efficent and sweet. She added to a nice happy hour. We enjoyed playing a few rounds of table shuffle board. Nice addition. The best part of our happy hour was a friendly couple (we just met them) at the bar surprised us and paid for a round of drinks since they heard it was my Mom's 93 birthday!! That surely made her day extra special and memorable.

The service was exceptional--attentive, professional, and welcoming throughout our visit. It just seamed like they threw in lime juice or mojito mixer and threw in 2 lime wedges and mint leaves and a lot of liquor. Limes were not muddled with the mint leaves and sugar like mojitos usually are. The lime juice or mixer they use did not taste good and it lacked sweetness. When we sent it back the bar tender became visible upset and appeared to be giving our server a very hard time. The returned mojito was also not removed from the bill. We then tried a margarita. It lacked sweetness and was very tart. We fixed it by asking for a little agave to add to it. Here's was the deal breaker for us. Thier lack of willingness to make minor adjustments or substitutions to anything even for a food allergy is absolutely unacceptable. For example: You won't be able to switch a side or ask for any adjustments to thier meals or cocktails. We asked about making a minor adjustment to a drink due to a food allergy. The drink was topped with a foam and we asked if we could leave out the foam. It would not have changed anything about how the drink was made aside from it simply not being topped with this foam. The answer was a hard no, the owners do not allow it. The manager came and talked to me. She was pleasant and I appreciated her taking the time to hear my feedback. However, it was very clear that I was wasting my breath because the owners are very particular and strict about not changing anything. It was not a good experience. We paid our bill, gave the server a good tip and took our business elsewhere.

My mom even asked me, did that couple ( they) get sat after or before us? That's was sat next to us, and I said after they got greeted first and right away but we didn't and we sat down before them wtf Our server Ashley needs to be retrained she doesn't know her shit, You're supposed to greet within 30 seconds and drinks with in a minute. I am one as a server, who knows who's been in the business for 40 plus years and works personally for Darden knows the ropes better than these little twits that work here. We didn't even get a chance to eat a good delicious meal or even get anything no bread no drinks, NADA, because we didn't even get greeted. Ashley needs to be more attentive and efficient on top of her tables and section. It is not the host or hostess job to tell the servers when they get sat, it's your section, your table, your responsibility to keep on top of it duhhhh I always say if the server gets to overwhelmed by to many tables then don't give them extra or a lot of them if they can't handle it. I called to talk to the manager bout it, he was an ASSHOLE acted like he didn't even care, and I had more knowledge o and about the situation than he did. He said the server and the people next to us said we went to the bathroom, we never went to the bathroom and we never left the table until we got up and started walking out, we were walking out is because we never got greeted LIARS! As I was walking out, I told the host up at the host stand, hey I just wanted to let you guys know you sat all of us at a table and a server never came over after 20 to 30 minutes but greeted someone then came in after us no way jose, and we left and walked out. The signs on the outside were broken and the lights were out also when I was walking out and my nephew noticed it also. I called corporate and I'm going to the director of operations, I reported him and the server Ashley and who knows probably not going to have a job anymore. The worst experience I've ever had in any restaurant. The only good thing bout the experience was the host and hostess. They greeted us and said their good byes and cared more is then any other person there. Plus We have had better experiences here during lunch service there then dinner. Fuck that place and the peeps that work there. Thanks for ruining my birthday, jerks. We will never come back or return to this shit hole.

We did get the holey donuts to share and they were delicious and warm an I enjoyed the warm berry sauce. I'm sure I'll be back if I need a breakfast spot in a pinch.

Been here a bunch since they opened. The food is decent but the service is where they really…read morestruggle. This is bigger than the individual servers and is clearly a failure of the FOH management team. Last time we were there, there wasn't soap in the bathroom soap dispensers. Aside from being gross, that's a massive health code violation. More often than not, they don't offer us water. Servers don't check back in a timely manner after food is dropped (which is a significant issue as there are issues with the food about 30-50% of the time) a couple of visits ago, I didn't have any silverware and had to wait about 5 minutes before someone came to my table to check up on me... by that time my food was cold. Once my wife was served a massively over cooked egg on her Benedict. Rather than take the plate back to the kitchen. The server brought back some newly poached eggs on a plate and left it to my wife to transfer the eggs onto her meal. Who does that? I'll tell you who does that... staff who haven't been properly trained by their management team.
