The wait was about 20 minutes on a Saturday morning at ten. I ordered the huevos rancheros., it is a spin on traditional huevos. The portion was huge. The French press sinful blend was soft and flavorful. Would go back for brunch anytime. read more

We arrived on the morning of July 5th. We were told 25 minutes. Not a problem since we walked around Westfield. When we returned 25 minutes later we were told we had to wait another 30 minutes. We sat in the lounge and after asking about 25 minutes later for a status we were told that the kitchen was backed up and they couldn't seat tables for another 50 minutes. I asked to speak with the manager who never came out. The restaurant was filled with empty tables covered in dirty dishes and there were packs of servers just standing in front of the door of the kitchen. I understand long waits on weekends but that was excessive and shocking based on the relatively small breakfast menu. We wound up going around the corner to the Westfield diner which was wonderful. read more

I would never return to this brunch spot. My 4 friends and I went in on a Sunday and it was very busy so we put our names down and were told it would be an hour wait. Not problem! We wandered around the town for about an hour and enjoyed some of the cute shops and then made our way back to the restaurant. When we got back we were told that there was only one table that needed to be seated before us, about a 15 minute wait - great! 15 minutes go by and we watch as table after table of people are being seated but we get no update. The hostess is obviously stressed and not getting any support from her manager. She uses the walkie-talkie but no one replies to her as she's trying to get updates. However, rather than addressing us and being honest with us, she just mutters passive aggressive comments about her co-workers under her breath. Another 15 minutes go by (a 90 minute wait) and we are still told "we're the next table to be seated." No apologies given. However, we hear a waiter tell the hostess that they just cleared the 5 top, so naturally we think YAY! Nope. The hostess and manager then have an audible conversation about where they're going to seat a large party of 14 people and we hear them give away the 5 top table that the hostess said was ready! They acted as if we couldn't hear what they were saying and we started to call other places to see if anywhere had an open table. We were continually told we would be the next party seated even though we watched about 30 people be seated before us. We ultimately stayed out of principle. We were seated after 2 HOURS by a waitress who didn't apologise for the wait and provided just adequate service. We ordered an appetizer to share but when our mains arrived our plates from the appetizer hadn't even been cleared yet! One of my friend's ordered a side of eggs but they didn't come out with their meal because the kitchen had to re-make them and by the time they brought them out everyone else had already finished their meal. The waitress didn't seem to care and only checked on us once. My food was average (chicken and waffles) and definitely not worth the wait. My advice is to be honest with your customers. If we had known it was going to be a 2 hour wait we would have gone somewhere else or would have gone and done something fun in that time! read more

So I went through the reviews and was a tad hesitant to come here. The place is not known for good service. I went in hopes of a good breakfast. They did deliver. The food was delicious...the posts are true of the bad service...but whoever is working in the kitchen make it worth a visit. Turning point has long been a favorite of mine because of their food. However, the service remains consistently the worst service I have ever had at any restaurant whether I order pick up or dine in. I called for pick up and was left on hold for 15 minutes. I hung up and called again and the phone was handed off three times before someone answered while in the background I heard "who is it? It's someone, just take it". The last time I dined in person we waited 30 minutes to get our check because no one who worked there even walked near our area during that time frame. Anyway, have always suffered through the terrible service and mediocre food because their coffee is decent and it's really the only brunch place in town. BUT NEVER AGAIN. Today, coffee was cold. Food took forever and the chicken sausage in my supposed to be hot breakfast dish was straight up still refrigerated. The eggs were hard and overcooked and cool to the touch. Waitress took it back and asked them to re-make and they MICROWAVED IT. Took 5 minutes to bring it back and then the eggs were gummy and rubbery and the food STILL wasn't even hot. Manager was apologetic but it was legit the worst experience I've had at a restaurant. Ever. Done. Never going back. Will go to Vicki's Diner or Bovella's on 22 or basically anywhere else. read more

With all these crazy times the manager Alexis was sure to make our take out experience one to remember. I preface this review by saying that I have a pretty high threshold for things.... and this place was pretty bad. We went on a Saturday at 10:30am and the restaurant was *completely* gross. Super dirty floors throughout the entire restaurant, and dirty chairs. When we sat down at our table the floors and chairs were completely covered with Cheerios, napkins, and crayons from the previous patron. We showed the hostess and she said she would send someone to clean the table. Someone showed up with one paper towel type wipe and got on her knees to pick up half of the garbage and asked "Is that good?" It's almost like they don't have a broom and dustpan. Throughout the entire meal we saw the garbage on the floor multiply from tables turning over and not one single employee swept the floor or wiped a chair. It was so odd - there was literally crumbs everywhere! There were also fruit flies throughout the restaurant that showed up to our table once the food was served. If it weren't that my kids were enjoying themselves, we would have left. The food was actually pretty good, though. That's the only reason I'm giving this place two stars instead of three. Management seriously needs to take a good look at their cleanliness practices. This restaurant has the potential to be really good -- but it's simply unsanitary right now. Oh -- and, the air conditioning was broken and all the people in the back room were super hot! A few tables asked the waitstaff if something could be done to cool off the back area and they said that the problem is that if they turn the a/c on the unit drips and causes a hazard. Incredibly cute place for brunch. Just went yesterday with my boyfriend since the weather was so beautiful. We were lucky enough to be able to sit outside and we received fantastic service. I love how their menu is not super big and and contains delicious and creative options. We each had one of their specials yesterday, mine being the tiramisu stuffed French toast, and his the chicken and waffles. Just based off these dishes alone with we will be back again. read more

Came here on a whim after a last minute brunch decision. Glad we did! The line was intimidating as we pulled up however only had a 30 minute wait time which given the abundance of stores and shops along the surrounding streets passed in no time. By the time we had walked past everything and found a bench to continue our wait on, I had received a text confirming our table was ready. Now the good stuff. The food, incredible. Extremely generous portions given the price and delicious. My girlfriend enjoyed the Eggs Benedicto, she asked for added avocado which was no issue whatsoever. I had the Low Country Hash Bowl which was phenomenal. We had also split a pancake flight, which first off, great idea! The flight comes with six pancakes, three different flavors of the customers choice. We went with the Cinnamon Roll, Bourbon Walnut Banana, and Lemon Blueberry. All of which were delicious! The staff was friendly and made the experience feel comfortable and homey which is a incredible feat given how uncertain going out to eat can be given Covid. Our waitress Phoebe did a great job. She even gave recommendations to ease my split decision on which meal I wanted. All said and done, Turning Point is a great spot with in a great location, the town simply has such a great vibe to it. The food and drinks are good, but the service is almost always a disaster. They'll bring a pitcher of water for the table but forget to bring glasses and you'll sit there thirsty and helpless, because you can't get anyone's attention. The food takes a long time, and one entrée will usually show up way before the others, and sometimes even the appetizer. You'll almost always have to ask for silverware and napkins, etc. and you'll usually have to remind them of the things you've already asked for like syrup or butter. I understand that they close at 3pm and the teenage servers want to go home, but if we are looking around trying to make eye contact with someone to have our basic needs met, and some young girl is just cleaning and setting tables for TOMORROW's breakfast, it's not a good look. Please treat the customers that are currently in your restaurant as first priority. You can set the tables for tomorrow a little bit later if you have to, rather than having people waiting around for water glasses and napkins. read more

Went a few weeks ago and received great service and only so so food. Like I said, it depends who's working I guess. Westfield store/ So far the experience is terrible, have watched 4 tables sitting empty for 20 minutes, while waiting. Told the wait is 45 minutes, obviously poorly trained wait staff and hostess ( she was very rude, rolling eyes and basically incompetent ) now at 50 minutes plus 6 tables open, said we are next, then called two other ( same size parties) Finally seated, no forks, silverware was dirty -over all the meal was good, but not worth the wait or the price, we did take the time to speak with the Manager - she acknowledged the issue. read more

Despite always being full of people The Turning Point is simply underwhelming. The atmosphere and waitstaff are really all this place has going for it. The coffee is gross and overpriced. The food is not up to standards either. I've been to several Turning Points such as the one in Hoboken which I absolutely adore, but the Westfield location is an utter letdown. Today I got the Lemon Blueberry Dream pancakes which lacked both blueberries and lemon, they were burnt and dense and tasted exactly like 'Bisquick' pancakes despite being called "homemade". There are so many diners around Westfield that are loved by everyone such as Vickie's or the Westfield Diner, give one of those a chance and you won't be disappointed. read more

Let me start by saying that I have watched the staff here use table wipes to clean dirty silverware... and then put the silverware back on tables for customers to use, hoping they don't notice. Half the time the glasses are also left unwashed, with food or lipstick remnants left behind on them. Although the food here does taste good for diner food, be on the look out next time you are here because you very well might be eating off of dirty tableware. I will start with the positive which was that the food was very good. I got the French Toast and my friend got the Heuvos Rancheros. Their two major issues are intertwined. 1 they weren't clearing/cleaning tables very quickly or thoroughly. 2 this led to a LONG wait even though you could clearly see 5 tables open for over 15 min. You ask the hostess how much longer and the reaction it was similar to asking what the square root of 2367 is. They should get on the texting system where you can check it yourself instead of asking and they text you instead of shouting outside. read more

I gave this place a chance because I always see people lined up there on the weekends. The decor is nice and the service is typical of what you'd find in any other fast casual chain. In a nutshell, the food is poor quality. The menu looks decent but everything is bland and weak portions. I ordered the breakfast nachos which were supposed to contain, eggs, chips, black beans, cheese and chorizo. There were literally 7 tiny beans and 3 microscopic pieces of chorizo which had no taste. The kids had french toast and waffles which were good but nothing special. The wife had a sandwich that could be eaten in two bites. I am guessing they are thriving because Westfield has so few breakfast spots?? I wouldn't go there again, let alone wait half an hour... If you don't take my advice and do go there, you will be placed in a waiting room before you are seated. This waiting room is roughly 30% the size of the restaurant. I have been to multiple Turning Point locations and this one was hands down my least favorite. I got to the restaraunt a few minutes before my friend so I decided to grab a table and order our french press so it would be ready by the time she got there. It was moderately busy for a Monday mid morning so I wasn't concerned when I wasn't initally greeted by the 2 female employees behind the bar area. However, after glancing at me multiple times over the next 5 minutes without even an acknowledgement of my existence I began to get annoyed. Finally a very nice woman came over to me and quickly sat me. After getting seated and choosing a coffee I waited for the waitress to take my order. Fast forward 17 minutes to when my friend arrives and not only do I not have coffee for us, I have not even been welcomed by a server. No "I'll be right with you" or "Would you like a drink while you wait for the rest of your party?" Radio silence. The food here is standard to all their other locations so I did enjoy my avocado toast with scrambled eggs and bacon, but will not be returning after that subpar customer service. read more

So in my opinion, this place has a bad rep based off of other reviews. They don't do it justice. As soon as I walked in, the strong smell of French pressed coffee pervades the place. The decor was a quaint country style and very clean. I got there around 9 am, there were a few tables available but it was bustling overall. The staff were extremely friendly and were very attentive. I ordered the classic eggs benedict and my friend got a chicken panini. I LOVED the food. My eggs benedict that I make at home is pretty good, but they nailed the hollandaise sauce. Perfectly poached and full of flavor. I'll definitely be returning again. The prices are more than reasonable and theres parking around the corner. They only do breakfast, brunch and lunch from 8-3 so get there early, I left around noon and the place was PACKED. The wait was pretty long, I definitely recommend getting there early or making a reservation. They also have a laptop area if you just want to chill and they have free wifi. read more

I found this place because of yelp. The place has a cute lil, southern theme. It's very bright, white, and welcoming. We were seated immediately. Our waitress was super friendly, helpful, and attentive. I asked for a recommendation on what coffee I should order, and she recommended one of the french press options. It was so delicious, I absolutely loved it. It also came with this caramel sugar rock candy stick to put in your coffee and sweeten it. I thought it was such a cute idea. For the appetizer we ordered the avocado toast with the added 2 eggs. I thought it tasted really fresh and was super yummy. Then i got one of the skillet options (the one with bacon, tomatoes, avocado, and melted cheese on the potatoes with my eggs). I thought my food tasted delicious. It was so satisfying to eat, and tasted so fresh! I really loved the mixture of bacon and potatoes with the freshness of the tomatoes and avocado. Everything was perfect! This is a generous 2 stars and it is purely for the food. You'll probably spend the same amount of time in your morning workout class as you will waiting in line to get seated at Turning Point. It's the greatest example of how not to run a restaurant. The food is tasty for sure and it is conveniently located in Downtown Westfield, but that is about all this place has going for it. I have nightmares about waiting for a half hour in line with clear open tables in sight only to be told, "We can't seat you yet because the kitchen can't keep up with the orders." Seriously?! Every time I convince myself to go back I always leave extremely frustrated at the non existent sense of urgency from the hostesses to the wait staff. Even though there is no way to replicate the full dining-out experience at Westfield Turning Point. This restaurant is reinventing itself starting with the specials. They offer specials with a fixed price menu and we love it every time. Westfield Turning Point understands the importance of communication to their customers. The manager Dania and her team are always thinking of the customers, they are thinking outside of the box. They have instructions on have to safely prepare the food once you get it home, puzzles for the family and Dania and her team personally hand write words of hope, smiles and love on the bag. Those little extra speaks volumes. One of the Westfields team member Christa gives words of encouragement as she comes out to address each customer individually in gloves, mask and hair net and wipes down the door knobs. Through the door one can see the wiping down the telephones, counter, computer keyboards, anything the staff touches gets wiped down. Westfield Turning Point are now very O.C.D. When our Perk Card was returned Christa wiped it down all over. Westfield Turning Point is comfort food. The Turning Point franchise is working to adapt their menus so that customers feel encouraged, supported, and empathy at this turbulent time. Food was comfort before this and even more now. Families, small or big gather around food and Turning Point understand how to send a clear message through their menus. It really does take a village to get through this challenge and we are thankful to have Westfield Turning Point part of our Village. read more

For lunch on a weekday, there was no wait even for the sidewalk tables on a sunny day, though it'd be really nice to have more shade in the outdoor area given the sometimes scalding sun this season. Their lunch menu offers a surprising number of healthier options with interesting salads considering the reasonable prices (~$10 for most) in its central downtown Westfield location. Their breakfast menu on the other hand seems designed for indulgence, so I suppose it's nice to have the option of either depending on your mood. I liked the portion size of the combo I got: Cosmo salad + roasted pepper soup. Both were fresh and delicious. Service was prompt and food came out within 10-15 mins of ordering. I think they have a serious problem with their dishwashing machine! We came and sat down and my fork had dried egg on it I asked for a new one and the server apologized and took it. She forgot to bring me a new one but it's fine I ordered a sandwich so I didn't need one. I did get the French press coffee which is pretty good EXCEPT that after my second cup i noticed lipstick on the run of my mug and I don't wear any! So grossed out! The server wasn't surprised and brought me a new one right away. But tuck germs! Maybe invest in a better dishwasher because this customer most likely won't come back anytime soon :( hygiene is certainly an important thing!! read more
