They changed their number without notice and never bothered to contact the VA for a cracked tooth. They might be closed now. Don't know, don't care. UPDATE: after finding a number the call no one answered so I left a voicemail. They never responded. So I texted. No response there, either. They just abruptly stopped communicating for no reason. No VA Community Care is refusing to reassign me to a new dentist. Whoever is running Mehta Dental is adversarial at best and milking the VA cash cow at worst. Oh, I had to have a bonding redone because it was scraping the inside of my cheek. Another time Ibhad a dental tech do a crown who was constantly playing with Instagram and kept telling me to open my mouth despite me telling her I have TMJ. She kept resting her hands on my glasses because she was lazy and careless. She ended uo being reassigned, but with the total lack of communication I see it as an omen. If they hire lazy social media obsessed children (she really did behave like a small child) they aren't going to take patient-insurance coordination seriously. As it stands right now I don't have a dentist and might never again. read more

I hate to say all these people cared about was your money, the lab tech is about 80 years old and works out of his garage. Since you have to pay for services upfront , you don't get good service they got there money and that's all they care about. read more

Their work is so sloppy and they don't even care. My parents and I have had to go back varies times to get the work fixed. I had to go back to get my cavity job fixed because my bite ended up unaligned from how sloppy the filling was, and it wasn't even the same dr who did the original work. My mom had the most painful dental crown job (she literally cried) and has gone back three times to get it 'fixed' and it's still not better. Avoid this place. read more

Buyer/Customer beware- I have Delta Dental insurance, and they charged me $1600 for a root canal. I asked for an extraction instead, they would not do it and said it "costs more than a root canal". They did not send my insurance the claim information as required. They will make you sign an "alternative treatment plan" without explaining it to you. read more

This place is horrible!! I was forced to come her because this was my default provider the insurance selected. It would have taken a month to switch to a different provider. All I wanted was a regular cleaning (which is covered under my insurance) but they would not give it to me. They said it would have to be an irrigation along with the cleaning. I believe they did this because the irrigation is not covered and wanted to find a way to bill me more out of pocket. I've never been to any dentist that refused to give you a routine cleaning because you did not want the add on services. I honestly feel like they were trying to find a way to just get more money out of me. Apart from that the office is rundown and looks unsanitary. One of the dental assistants sneezed loudly (it sounded wet) multiple times and did not wash his hands l - just went back to work. When you have your hands in people's mouths, you need to wash your damn hands! Absolutely disgusting!The plaza they are located in is all tagged up and there are signs of homeless people storing their items to the side of the building. Five stars for State College Dental Group-for sure! I was interested in getting braces and needed to get a dental exam first. With that exam discovered I needed to have a lot of dental work done prior to getting braces. The customer service is A+++. The whole team is positive and welcoming. Dr. Le and Jessica did a great job helping me through my multiple procedures. It was comfortable and pain free! Huge shout outs for the front office team-Liz, Faviola and especially Adrianna (who tirelessly worked on billing and planning with me). This place is a hidden gem! If I could give more than 5 star I would. Today I had the worst toothache possible and after calling so many offices , Fabiola answered and got me in right away . She was very sweet and understanding and made my appt at 2 ( I had called around 1 something) which was very quick. I arrived 15 min early ,as she asked me to, and read the sign on door to call when I arrive , so I called same sweet voice answered and welcomed me in . I filled out just a few forms and waited about 5 min and it was my turn. A very sweet assistant called me back , she took my x rays informed me it might be a little uncomfortable so I knew what to expect . She asked a few questions and informed me Dr would be in shortly. Dr came in and explained everything to me and what she was gonna do . Mind you As embarrassing as it is to admit I am terrified of the dentist , this Dr and assistant where so caring and sweet I wasn't a scaredy-cat lol. They constantly checked on me to make sure I felt no pain and that I was doing alright. Once everything was done the sweet assistant walked me to check out and I got my prescriptions and I was done . Been to over ten dentists in my 71 plus years. So I do have experience. The others were rated 8 or 9. The State College Dental Group rates a low 1. Manager is a liar. She even lied to my health plan. Because I would not purchase additional services, they refused to provide services my plan covered and would not say why. read more

I have beem here twice. The dentist doesnt give you the time of day. The assistants are nice though. The office is dirty. Floors dirty, sink in chair was corroded. I have been going SCDG since 2013 and I have to say that they do an incredible job with my teeth. After not going to the dentist for 10 years I had to pay the price on getting a root canal. During the whole process there was no pain and it was very fast. My last visit I got a teeth cleaning by Dr. Van Le. He did a great job and replaced by fillers that were broken (fillers put on by another dental group). I highly recommend them. You should make an appointment as they may get very busy at times. Once in a while they can take a walkins. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable as well. read more

I hate to give this place such a bad review because the nurses were all so considerate and nice. But the doctor (Dr Lee) is a whole other story. My daughter needed a cleaning and fillings. So after I settled in I was on my way back to the waiting room when I stopped to compliment a nurse on her nails blah blah long story short I heard the herdoctor yelling at my daughter!! "I told you to stop moving 3x already!" Then my daughter says "you can at least say please" (precocious right!) And then he just LAID INTO HER. A LITTLE GIRL : "I don't have to put up with your attitude! I'm getting your mother if u don't behave" but I was RIGHT there. That coward couldn't say another word. We left. Very pleased with the service I have received here. From placing an appointment Favy was very helpful to expedite my appointment, I procrastinate to do it at the last minute since my insurance will be cut off. I have received deep cleaning, cavity extractions, and root canal. All procedures were pain free, I have not needed to take any pain medication after procedures. Dr.Lee is awesome. All staff is pleasant. Clean office, you get to watch TV in each room, whatever channel you like. I highly recommend this office to anyone!! read more

Absolutely love this office. Not that im a fan of dentists but I love that this place makes me feel comfortable. The front office staff especially. I had a deep cleaning and a crown done, after reading the bad review they got, I went and checked with my insurance. Everything seemed fine.... I got, what I thought was a bill from my insurance and so called the office. I spoke to the treatment coordinator (named in previous review) as being incompetent. She explained it to me perfectly. Turns out all it was, was a report (eob) from my insurance stating the services rendered to me. Not a bill at all. I was relieved! I have to say I have never had such a bad experience at a dental office in my life. The staff is young and inexperienced and has girls that have attitude problems that don't enjoy their jobs The ortho who never talks to you during your visits or explains treatment to you without you asking ... I have been cut several times on my gums with very inconsiderate apologies by the tools that they barely know how to use during just a rubber band change ...they switched orthodontist and I pretty much had to restart treatment all over again!!! And extended it two more years on top of the year I had already done. They charge me an outrageous price for my braces and literally had to contact my insurance to have it revised and than at that time they tried to work with me. I could continue to go on with a list. Every time I come in the dental assistants in the back never say hello and are always rude. I am in the process of switching my treatment to a different office because of how frustrated I am with the staff and orthodontist. I have been going here over a year and I have had no improvement or movement. I was recommended to come here by a friend but even he stopped coming because of the treatment he was receiving. I highly recommend every one to stray away from this place and if you do come pay close attention to what you are being charged.
