They told us it would be a 25 minute wait for our food and it ended up being 40 so be sure to order ahead. Ambiance not so much. We came to this small cozy restaurant/pizzeria today and we were ecstatic, it's a great true Sicilian restaurant! I am from Sicily, actually from the same city/province as the owner/chef Giovanna. We had three pizze, margherita, capricciosa and norma, and two arancini. The pizze were outstanding, great crust and tasty toppings, this is the only place that serves a norma pizza....never seen it anywhere else (including NJ), the arancini were also true to what we eat back home. Very pleased with everything, we talked to Giovanna an the rest of her family that works in the restaurant, really nice and hard working people. This is not the classic Italian American joint, this is a Sicilian restaurant that happens to be in Hermitage.....go and try their food and you will be happy you did. So impressed with this restaurant. I was in the mood for Italian and was in East Nashville. The menu was well organized to see the pizza options and the pasta options...and of course the desserts. I wanted to sample a few different things so I chose the small salad, prosciutto Gnocchi, side order of meatballs...and Nutella cream puffs.. The whole experience was amazing. The phone person was nice. He confirmed the order time. When I arrived, the hostess was passing out other orders and told me how much longer. But of course every good Italian restaurant has a chef that is creating delicious food. I got to meet "mama". I could tell this was her passion. A local facebook group, which raves about this place, had piqued my interest. On a Friday, I took a late lunch here by myself. I ordered the polpete (meatball) sandwich and a special pizza (pancetta and mashed potato). From all the reviews I've read here, facebook, online and elsewhere, I thought that I would be in for a real treat. I was apprised of the wait time (not very long), and the food actually came out a bit early. The food was fresh and hot. Beyond that, there's really not many superlatives to add. The meatballs were soft and tasty, but everything else was pretty average. Pizza dough for the sandwich bread didn't really add much: might as well make a meatball pizza. Some grated cheese for actual flavor might have helped. Speaking of pizza, the pancetta and potato puree pie was, well... underwhelming. The pancetta was cooked on the pie, which meant that it came out somewhat rubbery. I was imagining crispy pancetta: I guess that's my fault. The potato puree must have been used as the sauce, and was imperceptible, save for the butter flavor to the pizza. This all meant that the center was soggy. Overall, the flavor and texture just weren't there. Also, I don't trust pizza makers who use cornmeal for their peel. This place makes good food: not great, exceptional or even unique. If you're in the area, I would suggest you check it out. I certainly would not wait over 40 minutes for what they're serving. I come from Connecticut, and every other small town there and in the Tri-State area has a restaurant as good or better. Tutti da Gio is very good for Nashville Italian. Beyond that, it's pretty average fare. In response to owner's response: I never spoke to the authenticity of the food you serve. I've never been to Sicily, so I do not know what "authentic" Sicilian food should taste like. I merely mentioned that I've had Italian food (in a general regional sense), pizza or otherwise, that tastes better: including food made by many "authentic" Italians in many cities across the US. I had really hoped for something comparable here, based on the feedback. Frankly, if it's good, I really don't care how authentic it is. But if you want to split hairs, the pizza I'm accustomed to is about as traditional as it gets. So, if soggy, greasy and lacking flavor is how "authentic" Sicilian pizza should be, then I'd say you've nailed it. read more

We had this delivered after reading so many good reviews and they were *accurate*. We are about 20 min away and the food arrived still hot. Ordered the Arancini which was filled with rice and cheese but also the ragu which I haven't seen before and was delicious. Despite it being wrapped in foil and driven to our house it was still nice and crispy. I also ordered the pasta al pomodoro which was perfect al dente, nice thick bucatini noodles, sauce was good, not too acidic. Portion size looks small but I couldn't even come close to finishing it so that's deceiving. The rest of our party got the 4 cheese gnocchi (sauce was rich, gnocchi was perfect), and the alicut panini (meat was quality, the pizza dough they use for the bread was perfect). They threw in some sliced Italian bread that was so crusty and delicious. Prices super reasonable for excellent from scratch Sicilian food. Just a stone's throw from BNA, this tiny little restaurant with no tables except for the patio tables outside is authentic as anything I've had in my visits to Italy. There are only 5 small tables on the "patio" (upgraded parking lot area) so expect to get your food to go. We went out on a ledge with the eggplant pizza and it wasn't for us. The pizza crust and cheese was delicious, next time will def try the spicy pepperoni. The star of the show for us was the pesto gnocchi, it was everything you imagine it would be! My husband loved the meatballs and said they are some of the best he's had in nashville. Pro tip: call and order ahead of time and plan accordingly. I am really disappointed to have to leave a crummy review for this place. I've heard so much good, but I didn't have the same experience. Ordered two dishes cause I couldn't decide and it all sounds good. First was the Pasta al Sugo Con Polpette, which is essentially spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were good, but that's where it ends. The tomato sauce really lacked depth of flavor in my opinion, and the noodles were very fat and not what I'm used to when it comes to spaghetti. Second dish was Gnocchi ai Quattro Formaggi. It was basically gnocchi in melted cheese. This was not a sauce, it was a gelatinous goopy mess. I love cheese. I put that ish on everything. But it wasn't good at all. Maybe I don't understand Sicilian style Italian? I dunno. But can't say I'll be making a trip back out there. :/ read more

Okay, the food was incredible. By far the best pasta in Nashville. However, when we arrived there didn't seem to be too many people sitting down outside. We ordered, and then after paying they said "thanks, it'll be 45 minutes." It was a big shock and I really wish they had told us prior to ordering that they had a long list of online orders ahead of us. The space itself is pretty small with only outdoor seating. Ok I have had the special pizza and it was good. I would give it a it a 3.5. It was bacon but not much with red pepper flakes. But the lasagna was a 4.5 and it melted in your mouth. Today I had the salmon and cream pasta. It was so cheesy and creamy and the salmon was mixed in kinda like you would tuna and man it was very good. An easy 4.5. Next on my list is the 4 cheese gnocchi, the meatball sub, and i want to add meatball to the divola pepperoni pizza. This place is good. Its more for pick-up. The patio tables outside arent many and depending on the weather can be nice but there are no inside seats. Really good food overall and I am honest about my stars they must be earned. I've been noticing the hype online so I finally tried Tutti Da Gio tonight! Even with a VERY late DoorDash driver (not Tutti's fault in any way), my food arrived hot, beautiful, and full of flavor. I was worried that the lateness would compromise the quality of the food but with ingredients this good, it didn't even matter. This was my first time trying homemade pasta and wow. I feel like I've been cheated for my entire life. The difference is astounding. The pasta is hearty, the meatballs were to die for, and my Arancini was divine.
