Twains Tavern! Last week was the 1 year anniversary of Twains being open, so I saw it fitting to do a review since they've had a calendar year to figure out the kinks. The food was so delicious. The service was also fantastic! We had prime rib and every dessert on the menu. Nice beer selection as well.

Glad I didn't read the reviews before coming here because we really enjoyed this place. We sat in a roomy booth at the bar and had a very friendly server. We enjoyed two apps (buy one get one 1/2 price) - crab pretzel and mozzarella sticks were excellent. Had a sandwich and flatbread - both were delicious. Getting tater tots as a side is a nice touch. The manager stopped by the table and seemed genuinely interested in our feedback and also gave us some info about the kitchen and other menu items for next time. Yes, you are dining in a bar and yes, some of the people at the bar are, well, not CEOs of Fortune 500 companies. Everyone was courteous and appreciated our business. What more could you ask for? I agree with all the reviews listed. I expected the new look to be inline with Two Rivers. Unfortunately, the place looked like Bamboo Bernie's still. The waitress was very friendly and did check on us multiple times but the food was very iffy. Ordered the chicken flutas appetizer to start. Menu said comes with sour cream, gac, and pico de gallo. When no gac showed up I asked and was told the menu has a misprint. I asked for some and then realized why they do not serve it... Very dark green...you can tell it was very dated. Had the steak tacos for lunch. The meat tasted like dirt. Check please! I would not waste the time unless your just stopping by to have a drink and watch the game. Rebirth on the right track! A weekend at the old Bamboo Burnies would have left you wishing for more ... Thus the need to rebrand, rebuild and bring in a new concept. The team at Twains delivers good food at a fair price. The drinks are poured like you want to drink them, but cautiously keeping an eye to ensure ALL patrons are comfortable, safe and able to enjoy both the evening at hand as well as tomorrow. Patrons are kindly reminded that the dress code is comfortable, and kindly requesting garb on the "not permitted list" either be changed or that you visit again when dressed appropriately. I never went here when it was "Bamboo Bernie's" so I can't offer a comparison. I went here after 9:00pm on a Saturday night for live music, (not to eat), when the 'Marshall Law Band' was playing. The first thing I noticed was that parking was definitely a problem. After a few laps around the packed parking lot, I lucked out by finding a single soul who was leaving. But I noticed a line of other cars still doing laps after I exited my car. Moral of the story, if you're going for live music on a weekend, either go early or have a plan B place to go. There's no overflow parking and nowhere nearby within walking distance to park either. Once inside, we found it spacious even with several hundred people there. The acoustics and sound system aren't spectacular, but good enough for bar bands. The crowd was a 20 something to 50 something mix of everything from bikers and 'Affliction' wearing bro's, to beard wearing hipsters, and just average guys & girls. Security was present but not overbearing and nobody seemed to be looking for trouble. Everyone was just having a good time. There was an outside patio, but we never bothered to go out there since it seemed to be the go to spot for the smokers. My one suggestion to management would be to hand stamp the smokers and let them chill in parking lot rather than letting them overtake the patio, but that was my only minor complaint. Drink prices weren't bad and they even serve their shots in actual glass shot glasses rather than using cheap plastic shot glasses like most bars do now days. Overall, it's a nice, spacious, blue collar, average Joe, kinda bar that's a good location for live music. read more

The food was average bar food. Two apps, a burger, two beers were $33. It was happy hour and they were buy 1, get 1 1/2 off apps. There wasn't a kid menu and it's not really a kid friendly place. We thought it was a restaurant but it's really the same as Bamboo Bernie's. We sat outside and it was nice. The inside has potential but they should turn the music down and get rid of the disco ball. Pretty good over all. The food is better than most bars. Very spacious and Tuesday Trivia is fun. I wish there was an easy way to give advice. But we are always there after pool and the tables are left unlocked. 3 of the 4 of us drink but near the end of the night the manager locks the pool tables. Its not that its bad but it sent us all away. 3 people drinking is worth less than a buck in the table at the end of the night when the bar is dying off anyways? We ended up leaving and maybe we would have left because it was late but locking the tables was not any encouragement to stay. I like the place. I think the prices are reasonable. I just wish there was an easy way to say 'hey wake up, some late night profit isn't bad'. read more

This place is just lagging. Waited 20 minutes for a drink, waitress was nice but didn't write anything down and then forgot part of the order. Said twice she would bring us small plates and napkins and never did. Then sat there for another half hour waiting to pay the bill. The food is hit or miss, sometimes it's delicious and the portions are what you expect and sometimes it's greasy and makes you sick. They used to have wine for 10 cents on Wednesday but they upped it to 99. And they hold a pool league there so half the time the pool tables are being used. They do allow dogs on their patio and the restaurant itself looks nice though. Overall just a place you'll kind of say "eh" about. read more

Cool bar/tavern. It's more of a bar than a restaurant. Had the crab balls for appetizer. They were average. I doubt I would get again. The cream of crab soup was excellent and not to be missed. The chicken tacos were fresh and delish! My guest had the steak with havarti cheese and shrimp with the mashed potatoes. He said the havarti sauce was amazing and the potato's were mashed redskin and seemed fresh. The green beans were also very fresh. The beer list was very nice. I had two of the on tap! Both were excellent. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars was I felt it was too loud for me and very "bar", rather than tavern. However, that is clearly their thing. Excellent service! read more

Slightly higher prices than its previous namesake Bamboo Bernies, but it's way more upscale and arguably the best sports bar in the area now. The food isn't bad either, but not everything was to our liking. Friday night $10 cover charge in the middle of Dirtydena? Extremely overpriced food and drinks to top that. If you want to sit on the patio, get ready to have smoke in your face until they close. Overpriced happy hour and too much smoke! I went here for the first time to specifically see a musician. It was a lovely night and the musician was setup outside on the patio. I saw a lot of smoking by the outdoor bar so I picked a table as far away as possible. As soon as I placed my food order, 2 chain smokers sat at the table next to me. I really wish the outside table dining area was smoke-free at least. Needless to say, my eyes were stinging and the lovely night was not so wonderful. I was also shocked at the prices for the cocktail specials. I have gone to upscale restaurants in Annapolis where their happy hour cocktails were half the price of this biker Pasadena bar/restaurant. I ended up with a draft beer like any other regular night out. I did venture inside before I left. It looked very nice and may be a good place to see a band in the winter. I just hate the fact that the smokers get to enjoy live outdoor music on a nice night and the non smokers have to suffer with second hand smoke or leave. read more

Transformed from Bamboo Bernies, Twain's Tavern upgraded the interior and gave it a tad bit of class, but do not be mistaken this is still all in all a bar. They made attempts with a wine bar which was nicely done but looks to be under utilized. Food is decent and service is hit or miss depending on when you go. read more

Opening weekend, tried this place with a few friends. First off, the service was slow and the server never came around. Had to ask the "bouncers" to get the waitress 5 times. Burger was alright, friends liked the food a lot but it was pretty mediocre. Tots were banging but you can't mess them up. Biggest complaint is the drink prices. Any liqour drink we had was $10 or over, and not loaded at all. Place was loaded with people 50+. Not a young crowd. Bouncers worried more about people keeping their hats forward than good service. Never going back. They won't last long unless they get more waiters on a Friday night and lower the drink prices. read more

Underwhelmed is the best way to describe this place. Wanted to try something new and different in the area and thought this place would be good (I like locally owned/ operated places as opposed to chain restaurants). Menu is small, which in itself is not an issue, but with a small menu the expectation is that the food will be amazing. Not so at Twain' Tavern. Crab dip was fishy, small; chicken flautas were large (think egg rolls with spicy chicken), and just "meh"; soft tacos (entrée) were tiny and mediocre. In general, food was poor to average, at best; flavors were mediocre, quality was poor, portion sizes small and cost is above average for the area. Service was acceptable. Not excellent, not poor. I think the most disgusting thing was that there were flies all over myself and food; I was eating inside at a booth for reference. Gross. Wonder what the kitchen is swarming with. I didn't realize this place had only been open for a few weeks. Geez, for being open only a few weeks I would have expected an amazing experience and this was not close. This place is described as "upscale." Don't be fooled...it would be upscale if it were the only restaurant for 100 miles which served crab dip ("fanciest" thing on the menu). Nothing to write home about. The fish tacos had more fish then lettuce and slaw, a good thing I look for. The service was very good and prompt. My buddy said the side of wings tasted better then his chicken burger. Atmosphere was so so. Other patrons seemed like regulars who do not welcome new customers. Draft beer was cold. Food isn't too bad, service was the worst though. Our waitress actually came up to us and just stood there staring without even saying hello, we all looked around the table at each other confused and then just proceeded to start ordering, when she brought us our drinks she started complaining to us about how she had to take our table but thought she was somewhere else, very unprofessional. I understand if this was her first job but if she was trained correctly she would of had someone with her showing her what to do and say. Our food took over an hour to come out and she never came back to the table, we finally had another server check on our food and bring it to us and get our check, we paid and walked out never seeing the first waitress again. I don't understand the reviews I'm seeing here. Every time we have been here the food is so good!!! I've had the crab cake sandwich, crab pretzel, among other things and was very pleased with everything we had! It's a fun chill hang out and I'm sure in the summer it'll be nice to have the outdoor seating. Haven't been here for the nightlife yet but this will definitely be a frequent food spot for us! I think the place looks AWESOME!... they didn't carry my beer of choice and within a few minutes they had my beer.. now that's service!. The updates are really nice and upscale.. the bands are really good, I don't think it resembles BB at all except the bathrooms.. The staff are courteous and the owners are very accommodating.. the food is yummy... we are happy to have this place in the Dena.... ;) We go every weekend. I think some of the negative comments I read on here these people are looking for a dull boring place to eat. You wont find that here... I say "a job well done" and it would be cool to have hamburgers on special named after a writer ?! jus idea read more

Everytime i come here I have a blast with my girlfriends. The beers arent overpriced, at least in my opinion and the shots are served well. Also enjoy the music as they play songs from the 2000's. read more
